Analysis:Trevor Gillies is best known for being involved in a fight filled game against the Penguins during the 2010-11 season. Outside of a solid physical presence, he will not be missed.
News:Trevor Gillies was sent down to Bridgeport of the AHL on Tuesday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.
Analysis: The Isles placed Trevor Gillies on waivers Monday, he passed through, so it's off to Bridgeport he goes. He could be back with the Isles when they feel the need to add extra toughness.
News: The Isles have placed Trevor Gillies on waivers, the team's official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: He will likely clear at noon on Tuesday and end up reporting to Bridgeport (AHL).
News: The Islanders activated Trevor Gillies (groin) from injured reserve Saturday, according to the team's official Twitter page.
Analysis: Expect Trevor Gillies to jump right into the lineup for Saturday's game against the Rangers.
News:Trevor Gillies (groin) is expected to come off IR on Thursday, according to Newsday.
Analysis: The Islanders have an open spot on their roster after they sent Ryan Strome back to his junior team, Trevor Gillies is expected to take that slot and will be in the lineup when the Isles feel they need a more physical presence on the ice.

News: Gillies has re-signed with the Isles, the team's official Twitter feed reports.
Analysis: It's a one-year, two-way deal so there's a good chance that Gillies will split the upcoming season between Long Island and Bridgeport (AHL).
News: Gillies will suit up for Wednesday's game against New Jersey, Newsday's Katie Strang reports.
Analysis: Just an FYI for those currently chasing PIMs. Gillies has 124 penalty minutes in 33 games to date.
News: Gillies will not play Saturday against Philadelphia, Newsday's Katie Strang reports.
Analysis: Gillies skated Saturday morning and is eligible to return now that his 10-day suspension has been completed, but the Islanders won't have him in the lineup.
News: Gillies has been suspended 10 days by the NHL for his hit on the Wild's Cal Clutterbuck on Wednesday, according to ESPN Radio.
Analysis: That's two suspensions for Gillies in 2011, and he'll now play once in a 19-game span. If you use him for PIMs, the most games he can now play is the final seven of the season.
Isles' Gillies Will Have Meeting With League Office
News: Gillie will have a meeting with the NHL on Friday to discuss his hit on the Wilds' Cal Clutterbuck on Wednesday, according to Newsday.
Analysis: Gillies is looking at a fine at the very least and probably another suspension for the hit. At this rate he's going to have to take out a bank loan to pay back the NHL.
News: Gillies was ejected from the game Wednesday versus Minnesota.
Analysis: Gillies was given a game misconduct after hitting the Wilds' Cal Clutterbuck from behind. The hit was in retaliation for a boarding penalty that Clutterbuck took on the Islanders' Justin DiBenedetto. Gillies had just returned from a nine game suspension for an elbow to the head of the Penguins Eric Tangradi, his return may be short lived.
News: Gillies, who was suspended for nine games for delivering a blow to the head of the Penguins' Eric Tangradi in a game on February 11, is now eligible to return.
Analysis: Just an FYI if you use Gillies for penalty minutes (109 in 32 games). It's not a certainty that he'd be in the lineup when the Isles take on the Wild on Wednesday, but forward Michael Haley is banged up so that might be an in for Gillies.
News: Gillies has been suspended for nine games for delivering a blow to the head of the Penguins' Eric Tangradi in Friday's game, reports TSN.ca.
Analysis: He punched him several times while Tangradi appeared to be suffering from an apparent head injury. Tangradi has concussion-like symptoms. Gillies will lose $24,193 in salary.
News: Gillies, appearing in his 41st NHL game a bit more than two weeks shy of his 32nd birthday, scored his very first NHL goal against Robin Lehner of the Senators.
Analysis: It was certainly a lucky score, as Zenon Konopka's pass went off Gillies' skate and into the goal, but we're sure he'll take it. Gillies' prime fantasy contribution, of course, is PIM; he averages nearly three a game.
News: Gillies has not been guaranteed a roster spot, according to the Islanders Point Blank.
Analysis: When Gillies signed a one-year, two-way contract during the offseason he wasn't promised anything. The addition of free agent Zenon Konopka also gives the Isles another "protector" and he doesn't have a two-way contract, so whether or not Gillies makes the team could come down to how many players the Isles want whose only value is with their fists.
News: Islanders LW Trevor Gillies has cleared waivers. He is likely to be sent back to the AHL.
Analysis: Gillies is a 31-year-old minor-league journeyman enforcer who has only played in two NHL games. Continue to ignore him in all formats.
News:Newsday reports that Islanders LW Trevor Gillies has been placed on waivers.
Analysis: The Islanders just signed Gillies on Friday, and he played just 3:16 in Saturday's loss to the Flyers. Continue to ignore this enforcer in all Fantasy formats.
News:The Sports Xchange reports LW Trevor Gillies, who had one goal and 123 penalty minutes in 18 games for AHL Bridgeport this season while on a minor-league contract, was signed to a two-way deal by the Islanders for the remainder of the season.
Analysis: Gillies, who will turn 31 on Saturday, is expected to join the Islanders in time for their game in Philadelphia on Saturday. Gillies has appeared in just one NHL game, but Isles coach Scott Gordon recently has expressed a need to add size and toughness to the Isles' forward corps. Gillies is merely going to be a flier in leagues that reward heavily for PIM.
News: The Hurricanes assigned C Joe Jensen, LW Trevor Gillies and D Tim Conboy to Albany (AHL) on Tuesday.
Analysis: These players are nothing more than organizational depth for Carolina and should continue to be ignored in all Fantasy leagues.
News: The Carolina Hurricanes trimmed their roster to 25 on Wednesday, returning first-round pick Brandon Sutter to the juniors and sending goalie Michael Leighton and forward Trevor Gillies to the AHL affiliate in Albany.
Analysis: Gillies might see some time in the NHL later this season, but now he should be avoided in all Fantasy leagues.
News: Trevor Gillies was recalled from Cincinnati of the AHL on Saturday.
Analysis: Gillies was taking the place of Kip Brennan (shoulder). He has no Fantasy value and his stay with the big club is expected to be brief.
