Dan Boyle
Rangers' Boyle Gets PPG In Win
Dan Boyle, D, NYR
5/2/2015
News: Dan Boyle picked up a power-play goal Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Capitals. It's his first goal of the postseason.
Analysis: He caught a break when the Caps hit the referee when they attempted to clear the puck. The biscuit stayed in the zone, trickled to Dan Boyle and he pounded it through a screen and into the top corner. He played 17:41 and looks no worse for wear after that hit at end of Game 1.

Henrik Lundqvist
Rangers' Lundqvist: 30 Saves In Game 2 Win
Henrik Lundqvist, G, NYR
5/2/2015
News: Henrik Lundqvist made 30 saves in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Capitals. The series is now tied 1-1.
Analysis: He wasn't really busy in the first when the Rangers out-shot the Caps 15-4 and made a couple of great saves in a busier second. He was beaten in the third by a sprawling Alexander Ovechkin, whose seeing-eye shot went shelf over King Henrik's right shoulder as the winger hit the ice. But he bricked up the net in late in the third when the Caps put on the pressure.

Joel Ward
Caps' Ward: Six Points In Last Seven Games
Joel Ward, RW, WAS
5/2/2015
News: Joel Ward's postseason production continued Saturday when he picked up an assist in the Capitals' 3-2 loss to the Rangers. He now has six points in his last seven games.
Analysis: Clutch -- that's the best way to describe his work these days. He has a history of going on scoring streaks and he certainly seems to enjoy playing alongside Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom. We sure hope you snapped him up in your playoff pool. He's been worth every penny.

Braden Holtby
Caps' Holtby: Strong Game In Loss
Braden Holtby, G, WAS
5/2/2015
News: Braden Holtby made 32 saves in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers. Their series is now tied at one game each.
Analysis: His teammates didn't play a consistent game in front of him and the score was somewhat generous -- the Caps were flat-out dominated in the first period and were outshot 15-4. And they had to kill off three penalties in the first alone. Braden Holtby was outstanding and should be pumped to return to Washington with the series tied.

Alex Ovechkin
Caps Ovechkin Nets Spectacular Goal
Alex Ovechkin, LW, WAS
5/2/2015
News: Alex Ovechkin scored a spectacular goal in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers. He tried to split defensemen Dan Girardi and Ryan McDonagh, and fell as he went through, but he managed to get a shot off. It was perfectly placed and went over Henrik Lundqvist's right shoulder into the top corner of the net.
Analysis: It's his fourth goal of the playoffs in nine games and his 69th, including 35 goals, in 67 career postseason games. Remarkably, he has morphed into a true team player under Barry Trotz and that makes the Caps more dangerous than they've ever been. The series is now tied at ones.

Derick Brassard
Brassard Nets Game 2 Winner For Rangers
Derick Brassard, C, NYR
5/2/2015
News: Derick Brassard scored the game-winning goal Saturday in a 3-2 victory over the Capitals.
Analysis: He emerged from the penalty box and quickly transitioned into offense, and then converted a feed from Marty St. Louis. It's his fourth goal of the playoffs. The series is now tied 1-1.

Micheal Ferland
Flames' Ferland Misses Practice On Saturday
Micheal Ferland, LW, CGY
5/2/2015
News: Micheal Ferland (undisclosed) did not participate in the Flames' practice on Saturday, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
Analysis: On Friday reports indicated that Micheal Ferland was expected to suit up for Sunday's Game 2 against the Ducks. However, the fact that he wasn't able to practice on Saturday indicates that he may not be available for Game 2. Calgary should provide an update on his status prior to puck drop on Sunday.

Jiri Hudler
Flames' Hudler (Undisclosed) Practices On Saturday
Jiri Hudler, LW, CGY
5/2/2015
News: Jiri Hudler (undisclosed) was able to participate in the Flames' practice on Saturday, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.
Analysis: The nature of Jiri Hudler's injury remains unclear, however, the fact that he was able to practice on Saturday indicates he'll likely be able to suit up for Sunday's Game 2 against the Ducks. Calgary should provide an update on his status prior to puck drop on Sunday.

Raphael Diaz
Flames' Diaz Practices Again On Saturday
Raphael Diaz, D, CGY
5/2/2015
News: Raphael Diaz (lower body) fully participated in the Flames' practice on Saturday.
Analysis: Raphael Diaz has now logged full participation in back-to-back practices, and has a legitimate chance of returning to Calgary's lineup on Sunday for Game 2 of the Flames' series with Anaheim. Calgary should provide an update on his status prior to puck drop on Sunday.

Mark Giordano
Flames' Giordano (Biceps) Participates In Practice
Mark Giordano, D, CGY
5/2/2015
News: Mark Giordano (biceps) was able to fully participate in the Flames' practice on Saturday.
Analysis: It still isn't clear when Mark Giordano might be able to return to Calgary's lineup. However, participating fully in practice is certainly a step in the right direction. He may be able to suit up for the Flames at some point during their Round 2 series with the Ducks.
