News
The Sports Xchange reports D Christian Ehrhoff continues to make Canucks GM Mike Gillis look like a thief for stealing him from salary-dumping San Jose for a couple of out-of-favor prospects this summer. Ehrhoff scored the first goal in Saturday's 7-3 romp over Edmonton on a power play and added another assist on the second power play goal, giving the German-born blueliner six goals and 16 points in 25 games, tops among a good Canucks defense core and third in team scoring overall.

Upper body - Questionable for Dec. 2 at New Jersey (Updated - 11/30/09)
News
The Sports Xchange reports C/RW Rick Rypien, who sat out Thursday due to an undisclosed upper-body injury, practiced Friday and took the game-day skate Saturday before being a late scratch for a 7-3 win over Edmonton. Rypien has been practicing with a bandaged right thumb, but insists he won't be out long. Unfortunately, he was out Sunday against the Sharks.
Ryan Kesler, # 17

News
The Sports Xchange reports Canucks C Ryan Kesler hasn't scored in 10 games, but if his three assists in Saturday night's 7-3 romp over Edmonton weren't enough to quiet his detractors, his one-assist performance in a 4-1 win over Los Angeles the previous game should have. Playing despite suffering a deep cut in his pinky finger during Thursday's morning skate, Kesler not only picked up a point but also blocked a Drew Doughty slap shot in the ribs that was hard enough to leave him spitting up blood. Not only did Kesler not miss a shift, he blocked another Doughty point shot before that one ended, then followed it up by being named the first star in Saturday's lopsided win over the injury-ravaged Oilers.
Mason Raymond, # 21

News
Canucks LW Mason Raymond scored a goal, tallied two assists and finished even during Saturday's game against the Oilers. Jeff Deslauriers didn't help his cause by taking a roughing penalty after Alexandre Burrows' goal in the first period for punching Tanner Glass with his glove. Raymond scored on the ensuing power play, his ninth goal of the season.

News
The Sports Xchange reports Canucks D Alexander Edler finally scored his first goal of the season Saturday against Edmonton, a perfect snap shot from the point that found its way through a screen and into the top corner of the net. It was Edler's goal was his first in 33 games dating to last season, but the big, talented Swede did add two assists as well and now has 15 points in 25 games despite struggling uncharacteristically for stretches in his own end this season.

News
The Sports Xchange reports Canucks LW Alex Burrows scored a pretty individual effort goal against Edmonton on Saturday and now has goals in consecutive games after only scoring once -- into an empty net -- in the previous 18 contests. The slump coincided mostly with regular linemate Daniel Sedin missing more than six weeks with a broken foot. It was Sedin that started the play on Burrows' latest goal, working the puck with twin brother Henrik out of the corner to Burrows alone in tight. Burrows then pulled the puck from his backhand to his forehand while spinning through the crease and tucked it under the sprawled goaltender.
