Wake Forest heads into 2009 with a fifth-year senior at quarterback in Riley Skinner and five starters returning from their offensive line. The only thing missing from a dominant passing game is the receivers. The Demon Deacons lost two of their top three receiving threats from last season and will make due with a largely unproven group of pass catchers. Williams, however, is the one constant after finishing second on the team with 26 catchers for 390 yards and two scores. That said, in comparison with their leading receiver, departed Demir Boldin, who caught 81 passes for 848 yards, Marshall Williams barely made a dent in Fantasy play last season. He'll have every opportunity to be the leader in 2009, but the spring game saw another Williams step up. Jordan Williams, who caught one pass for three yards as a sophomore, led the team during the spring game with four catchers for 70 yards. Jordan is 6-foot-3 and could end up being the team's most improved player in 2009. He's unproven yet, however, so go into the season planning on Marshall Williams as the only Wake receiver worth drafting in Fantasy, and he's only viable in the thinner player pool leagues.
