Big things were expected of Jake Locker in 2008 after being named Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in 2007. He was one of the nation's up-and-coming dual-threat quarterbacks and ready to take the next step in his college career. Unexpectedly, he broke his thumb in the fourth game against Stanford and would miss the remainder of the season. Locker threw for just 512 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 180 yards and three scores. He had 2,062 passing yards, 986 rushing yards and 27 touchdowns (14 passing) as a freshman. Ty Willingham is no longer calling the shots, but former USC offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian has taken over. He intends to run a more pro-style offense, similar to USC, but will keep some run elements to take advantage of Locker's wheels. Locker looked poised during the spring and seemed to have a strong grasp of Sarkisian's system. He completed 16-of-18 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns in the spring game. He also ran for a score. Locker is a prime candidate for a bounce-back season, so feel free to draft him as a No. 2 Fantasy quarterback.
