Golden Tate was certainly golden for the Irish in 2008 as he led the team in receiving. Tate posted 58 catches for 1,080 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was clearly quarterback Jimmy Clausen's favorite target. Tate has five 100-yard receiving games, including a school record for a bowl game with 177 yards and three touchdowns against Hawaii. Eighteen of his receptions went for at least 20 yards and 15 went for 30 or more. This coming after Tate recorded just six catches for 131 yards and one touchdown in 2007. He might be just 5-foot-11, 195 pounds, but Tate can certainly stretch the field. While teams might shy toward Tate in 2009, they still have to respect Michael Floyd on the other side of the field. Tate should have a fine season and passes as a viable Fantasy wide receiver. (Updated 6/15/09)
