Head coach Jeff Tedford doesn't get enough credit when it comes to producing one of the best rushing attacks in the nation year-after year. Cal has had a 1,000-yard rusher for seven straight seasons, and that trend is expected to continue in 2009 thanks to the Heisman candidate Jahvid Best. He had a breakout 2008 season despite the fact he battled the injury bug. Best rushed for 1,580 yards and 15 touchdowns while adding another 246 yards and one touchdown through the air. Best finished up the '08 season on a high note with four straight 100-yard games. That stretch included a 201-yard performance against Stanford and 311-yard outing the following week at Washington. Best is lightning fast and should be in for another big year in 2009. He did have foot and elbow surgery in January, so there remains some injury-risk involved with drafting Best, but he still passes as no worse than a No. 2 Fantasy option.
