Widely-considered the nation's top recruit, regardless of position in 2008, Terrelle Pryor was involved in the Ohio State offense from Day 1. It took him, however, just three games to replace Todd Boeckman, who led OSU to the national championship game in 2007 as the starter. Pryor's athleticism proved to be too much to have him sitting on the sidelines. However, OSU had a scaled-back playbook for the true freshman, and his throwing skills were far behind his superior scrambling skills. Ohio State had the 105th ranked passing offense (150.2 ypg) last season, so Pryor took to intense passing drills in the offseason. At one point, coach Jim Tressel had to bench him to rest his arm. At least Pryor has the work ethic to improve. He did look a bit more comfortable in the spring game, completing 13-of-18 passes for 191 yards and two touchdowns. Pryor rushed for 631 yards and six touchdowns in '08 while completing 60.6 percent of his passes for 1,311 yards and 12 touchdowns to just four interceptions. OSU did lose their top two receivers from last season, but the cupboard is stocked with burgeoning talent. Fantasy owners should draft Pryor as a backup option in most formats with the potential to start by season's end.
