Not many folks had Jeff Demps on the radar in 2008 since he was entering his freshman season at Florida where the Gators had a loaded backfield. But head coach Urban Meyer realized he couldn't afford to keep Demps' dynamite speed off the field. Demps debuted with two carries for 76 yards and a touchdown against Hawaii and didn't look back as he helped UF win a third national championship. Demps finished fourth on the team with 605 rushing yards. He also scored seven times on the ground while averaging 7.8 yards per carry. Demps even added 15 catches for 141 yards and one touchdown, showing he could also be a pass-catching threat out of the backfield. With Percy Harvin in the NFL, there is now more touches coming out of the backfield. Demps will have to share time with Chris Rainey and Emmanuel Moody but remains a nice low-end Fantasy flier for deeper leagues. (Updated 6/15/09)
