Rockies' Mark Reynolds: Will not require surgery

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/19/16) Reynolds (hand) will not require surgery, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Still, Reynolds is unlikely to return to the Rockies in 2016. This is good news for his availability for spring training and Opening Day next year, but with just two weeks in the season, there just isn't enough time for Reynolds to satisfactorily rehab from a fracture.

Rockies' Mark Reynolds: Likely done for season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/19/16) Reynolds (hand) is likely out for the rest of the season, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Reynolds was hit by a pitch in the left hand Sunday, and the veteran first baseman reportedly knew it was bad as soon as the injury occurred. He's slated to be reevaluated Monday to see if the ailment requires surgery, but no matter if he opts for surgery or not, Reynolds will likely not return this season. The 33-year-old will finish the season with 14 home runs, 53 RBI, and a career-high .282 batting average, which could appeal to some teams looking for a right-handed power bat in the offseason.

Rockies' Mark Reynolds: Belts game-winning homer

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/12/16) Reynolds went 1-for-4 with a game-winning solo home run in Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Padres.

Reynolds broke a 2-2 tie in the 10th inning with a solo shot off Kevin Quackenbush, propelling Colorado to an extra-inning victory. The home run was his first since returning from the disabled list on August 31, as manager Walt Weiss has opted to use him in a reserve role. The 33-year-old still has the ability to impact a game with his power whenever he's in the lineup, however, as he demonstrated Sunday. He now has 13 long balls and 51 RBI to go along with a .282/.355/.447 slash line.

Rockies' Mark Reynolds: Activated from DL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/31/16) Reynolds (hand) was reinstated from the 15-day DL on Wednesday, the Denver Post's Nick Kosmider reports.

While he is active Wednesday, he is not in the lineup, as Gerardo Parra will get the start at first base. The Rockies have been getting Parra's bat in the lineup there of late, with a full outfield, so Reynolds should occupy a part-time role over the rest of the season. Daniel Descalso was placed on the paternity list as a corresponding move.

Rockies' Mark Reynolds: Expected to miss four to eight weeks

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/12/16) Reynolds (hand) is expected to miss up to eight weeks with a broken bone, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Reynolds is scheduled to have surgery Monday and a return during the 2016 campaign is far from certain. The team has said that his recovery time is expected to range from four to eight weeks, but a more specific timeframe should be known after his surgery. During Reynolds's absence, Ben Paulson will likely get the bulk of the starts at first base.
