Cardinals' Yadier Molina returns to the lineup, Jason Heyward out

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(4/27/15) Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina will return to the starting lineup Monday against the Phillies after missing two games with a knee injury, the team announced.

Molina, who is hitting .294 with eight RBI in 51 at-bats, was replaced by Tony Cruz for the last two days while Molina recovered. He will bat sixth.

Outfielder Jason Heyward is out of the lineup Monday after picking up a hamstring injury in Sunday's game. Mark Reynolds will take his place and bat fifth. Jhonny Peralta will slide up to Heyward's regular two spot in the batting order.

The Cardinals are currently the favorites (-145) against Philadelphia.

Cardinals' Mark Reynolds homers, plays left field Sunday

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/26/15) Cardinals infielder Mark Reynolds went 1 for 5 with a solo home run while serving as the team's left fielder in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Brewers.

It was the first career appearance in left field for Reynolds, who played three games while making one start in right field last season. Sunday's game marked his second time in 1,025 career starts that he's been an outfielder in the starting lineup.

The home run was the first of the season for Reynolds, who has hit .200/.310/.440 with three RBI in 25 at-bats.

Cardinals 1B Matt Adams out of Saturday's lineup for rest

by Ted Leshinski | Staff Writer
(4/25/15) Cardinals first baseman Matt Adams will get a day off for rest against the Brewers and pitcher Wily Peralta on Saturday. Mark Reynolds will get the start in his place.

Adams has started 12 of the Cardinals' 15 games coming into Saturday.

Adams is 3 for 19 (.158) in his career against Peralta (Reynolds has never faced the right hander).

Cardinals' Mark Reynolds racks up two hits Thursday

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/16/15) Cardinals first baseman Mark Reynolds drew a rare start Thursday and rewarded his manager's decision by going 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI in his team's 4-0 win over the Brewers.

"Great day," manager Mike Matheny said afterward, per MLB.com. "This guy has some thunder in his bat, and it's going to be nice to get him locked in to where we can bring him into a situation where we know the other team isn't really happy about it."

Reynolds was just 1 for 5 for the season coming into Thursday's game.

"I was at a point in my career that I accepted [a part-time role] coming in, trying to win," Reynolds said of his agreeing to a role with little promised playing time. "So far, so good. I'll get some at-bats down the road, stay fresh and be ready to pinch-hit when I need to."

Matt Adams not in Cardinals lineup Sunday

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com

Adams had a big day Saturday, going 2 for 4 wth a home run after entering the day hitless in nine at-bats. Mark Reynolds will take his spot at first base Sunday.

The Cardinals are favorites (-115) in Cincinnati Sunday, per VegasInsider.com.
