(7/30/14) One might have asked what Yankees leadoff hitter Brett Gardner could do for an encore to his two-homer game Monday against Texas. He answered that question in style Tuesday.
Gardner slammed four hits, including a solo homer to begin the game, and added two doubles with three runs in a shootout win over the Rangers. He is 7 for 10 with five runs scored in his last two games. His .455 slugging percentage is a season-high.

(7/29/14) Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner smacked a pair of home runs in his team's 4-2 loss to the Rangers on Sunday.
Gardner was the only New York hitter to solve Texas ace Yu Darvish on Monday, as he took him deep for solo home runs in the third and fifth innings, respectively. He finished 3 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI. He owns a .276/.352/.437 slash line with 12 homers and 45 RBI in 380 at-bats.

(7/24/14) Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner hit a solo home run Wednesday against the Rangers.
Darvish worked a five-pitch at-bat from Yu Darvish in the third inning. On the final pitch, he hit a 90 mph fastball from Darvish out to right for the solo shot. The game lasted just five innings due to rain, so Gardner finished 1 for 2.

(7/19/14) Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner enjoyed a productive day at the plate on Saturday, driving in three runs in his team's 7-1 home win over Cincinnati.
Gardner singled in a run in the third inning and added a pair of sacrifice flies. He finished 1 for 2 with three RBI. He is hitting .279 with nine homers and 40 RBI in 348 at-bats.
|Brett Gardner had a better year than you may have realized in2013, after missing nearly all of 2012 with an elbow injury. While he stole just 24 bases (after racking up an average of 48 in 2010 and 2011), Gardner led the league in triples, hit a career-best 33 doubles and eight home runs (which contributed to a career-high .416 slugging percentage), and his .273 average was slightly above his career mark (.268). Heading into 2014, Gardner can safely be relied on for a .270-ish average with a handful of home runs, and about 60 doubles and steals combined. Add it all up, and he makes for a decent late-round pick in most formats.
