Yankees' Brett Gardner: Smacks three hits Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/12/16) Gardner went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Sunday's loss to the Rays.

The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Yankees, but Gardner continued to stay hot, as he logged his fourth multi-hit game in his last four starts. He also added a stolen base Sunday -- his first attempt since July 17 -- which was an element owners likely expected to see more out of this year, as his 14 stolen bases are his fewest in a full season since his rookie campaign. For now though, the 33-year-old is making up for it at the plate with a .333 average in September as he looks to finish the year up strong.

Yankees' Brett Gardner: Out of lineup Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/9/16) Gardner is not in the lineup Friday against the Rays, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Gardner is coming off of consecutive multi-hit efforts, but the lefty will head to the bench Friday with southpaw Blake Snell set to toe the rubber for Tampa Bay. In his stead, Rob Refsnyder will draw the start in left field and bat second.

Yankees' Brett Gardner: Gets day off Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/29/16) Gardner is not in the lineup Monday against the Royals, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio reports.

Gardner's days off are typically limited to games against lefties, but after an 0-for-4, two strikeout showing Sunday, he'll head to the bench even with the right-handed Dillon Gee set to get the start for Kansas City. Aaron Hicks will take over in left field and bat second in his stead.

Yankees' Brett Gardner: Contributes three RBI to Friday blowout win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/27/16) Gardner went 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run in Friday's 14-4 victory over the Orioles.

The veteran leadoff man provided timely hitting in the blowout, plating Chase Headley and Clark Judge in the second with a single and then closing out the scoring with another run-scoring hit in the seventh that drove in Ronald Torreyes. The 33-year-old now has hits in three straight, with four RBI over that span.

Yankees' Brett Gardner: Out of Tuesday's lineup

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/23/16) Gardner is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Mariners, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Gardner has been having a rough time at the plate lately, having gone a mere 2-for-16 over the last seven games. He'll have the night off as Aaron Hicks gets the nod to start in the outfield with Jacoby Ellsbury and Aaron Judge.
