Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Dominant in shutout of San Diego

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(5/1/16) Kershaw was dominant in Sunday's start against San Diego, striking out 14 with no walks in a complete-game shutout to boost his record to 3-1.

The lefty was touched up for five runs in his previous outing, but he rebounded superbly and delivered his best start of the season. Kershaw has allowed two runs or fewer in five of six starts and has struck out at least 10 batters in three straight, making him a must-start fantasy asset even as he takes on Toronto at the Rogers Center his next time out.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Takes loss against Marlins

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(4/27/16) Kershaw (2-1) struck out 10 but allowed five runs on seven hits in a loss Tuesday against the Marlins.

All the damage against Kershaw came in the sixth inning, punctuated by a three-run home run from Giancarlo Stanton. He was one pitch away from a brilliant quality start win. Kershaw induced 13 swinging strikes and got six ground ball outs in an otherwise strong performance. He still owns a 2.43 ERA and a brilliant 40:3 K:BB despite the down outing.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Fans 10 in no-decision versus Braves

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(4/21/16) Kershaw allowed one run on 10 hits and one walk while striking out 10 over eight innings against the Braves on Thursday. He did not factor in the decision in the Dodgers' 2-1 win.

Five of the 10 hits against Kershaw came in the first two innings, and eight of the 10 hits were singles. With 10 strikeouts against one walk, Kershaw now has a 30:3 K:BB in 30 innings this season. He lines up for two mouth-watering home matchups next week (weather permitting), with the Marlins and Padres visiting on the homestand.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Picks up second win of season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(4/16/16) Kershaw outdueled fellow lefty Madison Bumgarner, as he allowed two earned runs on five hits over seven innings against the Giants on Friday and improved to 2-0. Kershaw also struck out six and walked none.

The Dodgers ace allowed two runs over eight innings in a start Saturday versus San Francisco, but he received a no-decision. so it was good to see him pick up the victory Friday. Kershaw continued his stellar start to the season, throwing 73 of his 107 pitches for strikes against the Giants. He also recorded first-pitch strikes to 23 of the 27 batters he faced and induced 13 swing-and-misses. Kershaw is on par to be an elite option once again in 2016.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Doesn't factor into decision Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(4/10/16) Kershaw did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 extra-inning victory over the Giants. He surrendered four hits, two earned runs and a walk over eight innings. He struck out five

The Dodgers ace didn't quite meet with the same success as he did Opening Day in completely obliterating an overmatched Padres squad, but still turned in a stellar outing by almost any measure. His sole blemishes came in the form of the long ball, with opposing starter Madison Baumgarner touching up Kershaw for a solo shot in the second inning. Despite the hiccup, Kershaw did throw 60 of 91 pitches for strikes, and induced 12 swings-and-misses. He's looked in top form over his first two starts save for a couple of pitches, and forges ahead as one of the top arms in all of baseball.
