Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Wins first start since returning from DL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1:34 am ET) Kershaw threw seven shutout innings, allowing just three hits and walking nobody in a victory over the Rockies on Saturday. Kershaw also struck out six.

The Dodgers ace looks to be fully back, having allowed just one run in his last three starts. Kershaw hasn't yielded an earned run in 19 straight frames. On Saturday, it took Kershaw just 23 batters to get through seven innings, as he retired four times. He is now 12-3 with a 1.65 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 168 strikeouts in 142.0 innings this season. Kershaw will pitch his final regular season game Friday against Madison Bumgarner and the Giants.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Takes no-decision in quality start against Giants

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/20/16) Kershaw took a no-decision despite tossing six innings and allowing just one unearned run on three hits and a walk Monday against the Giants.

Kershaw struck out seven, his best total in his past four starts, an uncharacteristic strikeout lull for the dominant left-hander. Still, Monday's performance brings him to 162 strikeouts in just 129 innings. Most amazingly, though, the walk Kershaw allowed last night was just his 10th all season, giving him an absurd 12.9 K/BB. The best K/BB among qualified starters this season belongs to Rick Porcello of the Red Sox at just 5.8.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Dominates in rain-shortened start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/14/16) Kershaw was dominant Wednesday, throwing five scoreless innings and allowing just one hit while striking out five at Yankee Stadium.

Kershaw's night was cut short by a pair of rain delays, although he may have been on a pitch count anyways in his second start coming off a back injury. He needed just 64 pitches to get through five innings, and showed no signs of rust whatsoever, picking back up what was on-track to be another Cy Young year. Kershaw lowered his ERA to 1.81, but failed to earn his 12th win as the Dodgers couldn't manage a run until the top of the ninth. Kershaw's command has been legendary in 2016, as he has walked only nine batters while striking out 155. That 17.2 K:BB would shatter Phil Hughes' record of 11.6 set in 2014 should Kershaw throw enough innings down the stretch to qualify.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Feels well after Friday's start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/10/16) Kershaw said that he was feeling well a day after Friday's start, and he still lines up to start Wednesday in New York, MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports.

He even played catch Saturday, so it certainly seems like he made it out of Friday's start in good shape, even though the results of the start weren't what his owners were looking for. Kershaw noted that he will have to make some alterations in his legendary between-starts workouts, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register, so he's obviously not 100 percent healthy. However, as long as he's able to take the ball every fifth day, his owners won't complain.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Activated from 60-day DL Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/9/16) Kershaw (back) was activated from the 60-day disabled list and is the starting pitcher for Friday's game against the Marlins.

As expected, Kershaw will make his return from a back injury Friday night after being out since June 26. His first test off the DL is a Miami squad competing for a Wild Card spot, although the left-hander fortunately gets to avoid the biggest bat in their lineup, as Giancarlo Stanton (groin) remains out of the lineup.
