Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw takes no-decision

by Shawn Krest |
(1:28 am ET) Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw allowed one run over seven innings but took a no-decision after leaving with the score tied.

Kershaw will go a month without a win. He last won on June 6. Since then he's lost three and taken two no decisions, while lowering his ERA. He has a 2.41 ERA over the five winless outings.

Kershaw gave up five hits and struck out seven, his fewest since June 1.

Poor defense, hitting victimizes Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw

by Marty Gitlin |
(6/27/15) The last time Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw lost three consecutive starts was ... never.

That is, until Saturday. The super southpaw performed well again, but has received just seven runs of support over that stretch. And he got no support in his latest outing from a defense that committed two errors that led to two unearned runs.

Kershaw allowed only one earned run on seven hits in seven innings with no walks and nine strikeouts. The three runs scored on the two errors and a wild pitch. He settled down thereafter and pitched shutout ball over the last five innings, but his record still stands at an uncharacteristic 5-6.

"You really can't ask Clayton to pitch a whole lot better," Don Mattingly told "...We just weren't able to put any runs on the board tonight to overcome our couple mistakes."

Kershaw did lower his ERA to a season-best 3.20.

Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw allows 3 runs in loss

by Jason Butt |
(6/22/15) Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw gave up three earned runs in Monday night's 4-2 loss to the Cubs.

Kershaw, the 2014 National League MVP and Cy Young Award winner, continued his fairly average season by giving up four hits — two of which went for home runs — and two walks. However, he did strike out nine batters.

“I don’t know. I don’t really care about giving up homers,” Kershaw said, via the Orange County Register. “Other than them being runs, it’s just a bad pitch, a mistake. As long as they’re solo shots, I always say, it doesn’t matter. Right now, it feels like that’s the only way I’ve been giving up runs the past two starts.

“If you make a bad pitch you make a bad pitch. Hopefully, they just stay in the ballpark.”

Kershaw is now 5-5 and has a 3.33 ERA this season.

His next start is scheduled for Saturday against the Marlins.

Dodgers P Clayton Kershaw strikes out 10 in loss

by Jason Butt |
(6/18/15) Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw gave up four runs — three earned — in Wednesday night's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.

Kershaw had previously given up a total of three earned runs over his past three games. Against Texas, Kershaw gave up five hits. He did strike out 10 batters, which is the sixth time he's done that this season.

Kershaw went six innings before being pulled. Kershaw now has a 5-4 record and possesses a 3.29 ERA.

His next start is projected for June 22 against the Cubs.

Dodgers SP Clayton Kershaw Ks 11 in no-decision on Friday

by Jason Lempert | Staff Writer
(6/13/15) Dodgers starter Clayton Kershaw was his usually dominant self on Friday against the Padres, but he was forced to settle for a no-decision in the 4-3 victory. Kershaw went 6 2/3 innings, allowing just one run on four hits. He walked three and struck out 11, lowering his ERA to 3.21.

The only run Kershaw gave up came in his final inning, a solo home run by Clint Barmes to cut the Dodgers' lead to 2-1. Unfortunately for Kershaw, the Dodgers bullpen gave the lead up, but the Dodgers were able to get it back and record the 4-3 win.

The reigning MVP and Cy Young Award winner has now given up just three earned runs over his last four starts following Friday's performance. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start, scheduled for Wednesday at home against the Rangers.
