Clayton Kershaw strikes out 11 in win No. 21
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9/25/14) Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw ended the regular season on a high note Wednesday, giving up just one earned run on eight hits in eight innings while striking out 11 to pick up win No. 21 in his team's 9-1 victory over the Giants.

Kershaw (21-3) closes the season with wins in seven straight games, throwing eight innings a remarkable six times during that stretch. He even got things done at the plate Wednesday, smacking an RBI triple -- his first career three-bagger -- to get back the run he surrendered and tie the game 1-1. The Dodgers tacked on eight more unanswered runs later in the game to clinch the NL West title. The overwhelming Cy Young favorite, Kershaw ends the regular season with a 1.77 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 239:31 K:BB ratio in 198 1/3 innings.

Clayton Kershaw becomes league's first 20-game winner
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/19/14) Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw became the league's first 20-game winner Friday afternoon in Chicago against the Cubs.

Kershaw (20-3) bounced back from a rough opening frame and received more than enough run support to get the job done. He permitted a run-scoring double to Anthony Rizzo, a run-scoring triple to Jorge Soler and a sacrifice fly in the first for his only damage of the afternoon. He permitted three runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out nine over five innings of a 14-5 victory.

Over his last four starts covering 29 innings, Kershaw has allowed seven earned runs. He owns a 1.80 ERA and a 0.86 WHIP over 26 starts (190 1/3 innings). His next start will come Wednesday at home against San Francisco.
Clayton Kershaw nails down 19th win Sunday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) Dodgers stud lefty Clayton Kershaw placed himself on the doorstep of his second 20-win season Sunday with another fine performance, this time in San Francisco.

Kershaw raised his record to a ridiculous 19-3 and lowered his ERA to an eye-popping 1.70 by surrendering just two runs on seven hits in eight innings to the Giants. He walked one and struck out nine. He was hurt only by RBI singles off the bats of sizzling Buster Posey and Matt Duffy.

The ace of the league will shoot for his 20th win Friday against the Cubs.

Over his last three starts covering 24 innings, Kershaw has allowed only two earned runs. He has a 1.67 ERA and a 0.82 WHIP over 24 starts (177 1/3 innings). He'll make his next start Sunday at San Francisco.

Clayton Kershaw strikes out eight in win vs. Nationals
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(9/3/14) Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw earned another win Tuesday, allowing one earned run on three hits and two walks in eight innings while striking out eight in his team's 4-1 victory over the Nationals.

Kershaw (17-3) has pitched at least eight innings in each of his last five starts, and he's held the opposition to three runs or less in 22 of his 23 starts this season. Kershaw owns a 1.70 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 202:25 K:BB ratio in 169 1/3 innings. He's now on pace to finish the season ahead of Sandy Koufax's 1.73 ERA from 1966. Kershaw's scheduled to face the Padres Tuesday.
