Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Allows grand slam for first time

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/18/17) Kershaw (17-4) allowed four runs on four hits and a walk while striking out six batters through six innings to take the loss against Philadelphia on Monday.

Kershaw allowed a grand slam for the first time in his career to Aaron Altherr in the sixth inning, which was enough for Philadelphia to take the win. The long ball has been a bit more of a problem for Kershaw this season, as his 1.2 HR/9 is a career high. However, he's still sporting an elite 2.26 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 10.7 K/9. There's a risk that the Dodgers choose to skip one of Kershaw's upcoming starts if they have nothing to play for, especially considering that having him healthy is critical to their postseason hopes. Kershaw lines up to make his next start at Dodger Stadium against San Francisco.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Ends team's losing streak, wins 17th

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/13/17) Kershaw (17-3) gave up two runs -- one earned -- over six innings en route to a win over the Giants on Tuesday. He struck out six while allowing eight hits and a walk.

This wasn't exactly a vintage Kershaw outing, but it ended the Dodgers' 11-game losing streak and represents a notable rebound from his ugly start against the Rockies. Of course, the fact that a game like this ranks among the superstar lefty's less appealing starts tells you all you need to know about just how amazing he is -- as does the fact that his spectacular 0.92 WHIP actually represents a four-year high.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Fails to complete four innings in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/8/17) Kershaw (16-3) took the loss Thursday, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks over 3.2 innings against the Rockies. He struck out seven.

It was tough sledding from the start, as Kershaw gave up four straight hits to begin the game, including a three-run homer to Nolan Arenado. According to ESPN Stats & Info, it was the first time in his career that Kershaw allowed a hit to each of the first four batters he faced. The walks were also uncharacteristic, but Kershaw has a history of bouncing back with a fury after rough outings like this. He lines up to face the Giants in San Francisco next Wednesday with the Dodgers sticking with a six-man rotation, according to Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Picks up easy win in first start back

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/2/17) Kershaw (16-2) allowed just two hits over six shutout innings and struck out seven to earn the win Friday night against the Padres.

So much for rust. In his first game since a back injury took him out of action July 23, Kershaw was in midseason form. Despite facing a 75-pitch limit, Kershaw easily completed six innings, as he tossed 53 strikes in his 70 pitches and didn't allow a ball to reach the outfield. His ERA is once again below 2.00 and he now has a legitimate chance to post sub-2.00 ERAs in two consecutive years, just as he did in 2013 and 2014.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Activated prior to Friday's start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/1/17) Kershaw (back) was reinstated from the 10-day DL prior to his start against the Padres on Friday.

Kershaw looked good during his lone rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday, and should be at full health heading into Friday's outing. Although his pitch count will be limited to around 75, Kershaw should be deployed in all formats.
