Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Showdown with Lester, Cubs set for Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(7:04 am ET) Kershaw will start Sunday against the Cubs, David Vassegg of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Manager Dave Roberts laid down his cards Wednesday night, revealing his three starting pitchers for the highly-anticipated weekend series in Los Angeles. Kershaw will toe the rubber with an NL-best seven wins and 0.82 WHIP in a showdown with Jon Lester on Sunday afternoon.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Fans 10 in Tuesday's no-decision

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(5/24/17) Kershaw (7-2) allowed only one run on three hits over nine innings while striking out 10 but had to settle for a no-decision in Tuesday's extra-inning win over the Cardinals.

The left-hander was dominant once again, delivering his ninth quality start in 10 trips to the mound while lowering his ERA to 2.01 and his WHIP to 0.82, but Lance Lynn matched him nearly pitch for pitch and the game wasn't decided until the 13th inning. Kershaw will get another crack at the Cards in his next start Monday in St. Louis.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Silences Giants for seventh win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(5/17/17) Kershaw (7-2) gave up just three hits over seven scoreless innings in a 6-1 win against the Giants on Wednesday, striking out five without a walk.

He tossed just 89 pitches in doing so, getting lifted after seven with this game well in hand. Baseball's best pitcher has mostly been up to his usual tricks, as he holds a 0.89 WHIP to accompany a 2.15 ERA through his first nine outings. It's worth noting that Kershaw's strikeout rate has dipped noticeably from past seasons (8.90 K/9), but it's a good bet that the stud southpaw will normalize that stat by ripping off a few double-digit-whiff games in a row at some point. He'll next take the ball against the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Slated to start Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(5/13/17) Kershaw will start Wednesday against the Giants, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.

By all indications, the Dodgers will continue to deploy a six-man rotation for the time being, but Kershaw will be kept on normal rest for this turn. Kershaw has suggested in the past that he doesn't particularly like pitching on extra rest. The three-time Cy Young winner picked up a victory over the Rockies at Coors Field on Friday, allowing just two runs on seven hits while striking out four batters. It was his second start of the season at Coors.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Collects win No. 6 on Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(5/13/17) Kershaw (6-2) allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over seven innings in Friday's 6-2 win over the Rockies.

The Dodgers staked him to a five-run lead in the second inning, and Kershaw cruised to an easy victory from there, needing only 85 pitches (58 strikes) to get through seven frames. With Brandon McCarthy (shoulder) and Rich Hill (finger) both set to rejoin the rotation early next week, Kershaw will get an extra day of rest before his next start Thursday at home against the Marlins.
