Jason Heyward steals two bases in three-hit night Tuesday
by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(7/8/14) Braves outfielder Jason Heyward went 3 for 4 with an RBI and two stolen bases in his team's 8-3 loss to the Mets Tuesday.

Heyward finally put the Braves on the board in the eighth inning with an RBI single, but he was only able to cut the lead to 7-1. He hadn't stolen a base since May 31 before swiping two Tuesday. Heyward has hit .247/.338/.366 with eight home runs, 33 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 344 at-bats.

Jason Heyward fine with hitting lower in lineup
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/23/14) Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez has gone with a new lineup over the last five games, with the most noticeable changes being Tommy La Stella in the leadoff spot and Jason Heyward batting fifth.

If you talk to Heyward, however, he has no problems hitting lower in the lineup, per MLB.com.

"With the lineup change, I like it and I think everybody else likes it as well," said Heyward, who is batting .294 in five games hitting fifth. "We get a few games with it and we get comfortable, I think it's going to set us up to be pretty dangerous throughout the whole lineup."

Jason Heyward slipped to fifth in lineup
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(6/18/14) For the first time since July 26, Jason Heyward is not batting leadoff for the Braves. He is in the fifth spot against Philadelphia.

Fredi Gonzalez expressed his confidence that Heyward can produce anywhere. He owns a .254/.334/.384 stat line.

Heyward told Gonzalez he would accept "anything you want me to do," per MLB.com.

"I think the world of Jason Heyward," Gonzalez said. "I think that he can hit anywhere in the lineup and be productive, and so that's the reason he's hitting fifth."

Braves considering making changes to lineup?
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(6/16/14) With Braves catcher prospect Christian Bethancourt on a roll offensively at Triple-A Gwinnett, Atlanta has started toying with the idea of shaking up their lineup, according to MLB.com.

The lineups moves would include moving catcher Evan Gattis to left field, Justin Upton to right field, Jason Heyward to center field and struggling outfielder B.J. Upton to the bench. The lineup changes would create an opening for Bethancourt to start at catcher.

Bethancourt has always been lauded for his defense, but the 22-year-old catcher is beginning to improve offensively. He is batting .312 with a .764 OPS in his last 37 games at Triple-A.

"We're hearing [Bethancourt] right now," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We're paying attention."

Jason Heyward returns to action Saturday
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(6/14/14) Braves outfielder Jason Heyward returned to the starting lineup and is batting leadoff Saturday afternoon against the Angels. Heyward was forced out of Friday's game against the Angels with a hand injury. He is hitting .254 with seven homers and 23 RBI in 256 at-bats.
