Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Loses lead in seventh and suffers second straight defeat

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(6/26/16) Bumgarner (8-4) lost his second straight start, as he allowed three runs on five hits over 6.1 innings against the Phillies on Saturday. He also struck out seven and walked one.

He has two straight quality starts and combined to strike out 15 in those outings, but he has lost two decisions in a row due to a sleeping Giants offense. On Saturday, Bumgarner allowed a two-run homer to Cameron Rupp with a one-run lead in the seventh, which cost him the game. Bumgarner now has a 1.99 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 122 strikeouts in 108.1 innings. He will look to get back on track against the Athletics in his next start Thursday.

Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Takes tough-luck loss in pittsburgh

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(6/20/16) Bumgarner (8-3) took the tough-luck loss despite allowing just one run on five hits with two walks and eight strikeouts in eight innings Monday in Pittsburgh.

Counterpart Jeff Locke and the Pirates bullpen combined to shut out the Giants, so a solo homer by light-hitting backup catcher Erik Kratz was all it took to doom Bumgarner. The 2014 World Series MVP is rolling with two or less earned runs allowed in each of his last 12 starts, and Saturday's home date with the Phillies provides a tremendous opportunity to keep that streak going in his next outing.

Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Strikes out eight batters Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(6/15/16) Bumgarner (8-2) allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out eight over eight innings to earn the win Tuesday against the Brewers.

Bumgarner was in 2-2 game in the sixth inning before the Giants scratched out a run on a wild pitch in the seventh inning to lead the righty to his eighth victory of the season. This was the first time in seven starts that he's allowed more than one run, and his ERA is a stellar 1.91. He'll make his next start Monday at the Pirates.

Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Battles to no-decision against Red Sox

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(6/9/16) Bumgarner put together a solid six innings Wednesday against the Red Sox, but left with his second no-decision in three starts. He allowed one run on four hits while walking one and striking out five.

His lone mistake was leaving a 3-1 pitch up in the zone, allowing Chris Young to go deep for Boston's only run. The good news for the Giants ace is that he didn't take the loss, meaning Bumgarner's six-game winning streak is still going. The southpaw admitted he wasn't at his best in this one, yet managed to lower his ERA to a season-best 1.88.

Giants' Madison Bumgarner: Dominates Braves in every facet Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to
(6/2/16) Bumgarner (7-2) tossed 7.2 scoreless innings and hit a two-run dinger in Thursday's win against the Braves. He allowed four hits and two walks while tying his season-high of 11 strikeouts.

The rest of the team could have caught a morning flight back to San Francisco, because Bumgarner took care of this matinee on his own. He broke a scoreless tie with his home run in the fifth inning while mystifying hitters all day. Bumgarner induced an astronomical 21 swinging strikes while fanning every player in the Braves starting lineup.
