Braves' Freddie Freeman: Hits 22nd bomb

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/17/17) Freeman went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and a double during Thursday's win over Colorado.

The only thing to slow Freeman down this season was a fluky wrist injury that cost him 44 games. Even with the missed time, he's racked up 22 homers, 49 RBI and 58 runs with an elite .321/.421/.636 slash line. 2018 could be the season Freeman puts it all together and posts his true breakout campaign, so it's not out of the question to consider ponying up in keeper/dynasty settings now.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Plates two in win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/12/17) Freeman went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a double in Saturday's loss to St. Louis.

Freeman is hitting .342 with eight RBI this month. Although he did miss a good chunk of the season while on the disabled list, his .319 batting average matches his career-high figure from his breakout season in 2013, a sign that a decrease in production shouldn't be expected anywhere in the near future.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Plates four in win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/5/17) Freeman went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs during Saturday's win over Miami.

Freeman entered the game with a rock-solid .834 OPS since returning from the disabled list July 4, and he's now up to an elite .317/.418/.642 slash line for the campaign. Even with the missed time, Freeman's counting stats (20 homers, 45 RBI and 53 runs) have been good up to snuff, and he projects to remain a high-end asset in all fantasy settings.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Set to move back to first base

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/1/17) Freeman will man first base Tuesday against the Dodgers and is expected to see the bulk of his starts at the position over the final two months of the season, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

In an effort to keep Matt Adams' hot bat in the lineup, the Braves moved Freeman over from first base to third base when he was activated from the disabled list July 4 following a lengthy absence due to a wrist injury. Though he wasn't a major defensive liability at the hot corner during his 16 games at the position, Freeman was never viewed as a long-term solution at the position, and will now head back to his natural spot across the diamond with the Braves eager to clear an everyday role in the infield for Ozzie Albies, who was promoted from Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday. Adams isn't expected to lose out on regular at-bats while Freeman slides back over to first base, as he's now set to see most of his starts in left field. Freeman could still be used at third base on a few more occasions as the season winds down, but it no longer seems to be a lock that he'll gain eligibility at the position in fantasy leagues heading into 2018.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Socks 19th homer Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(8/1/17) Freeman went 1-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Phillies.

The month of July wasn't quite as spectacular for Freeman as his April or May, but he still put together a .278/.350/.511 slash line with five homers and 15 RBI in 23 games. The 27-year-old slugger's next home run will be his 20th of the season and mark his fifth time reaching that threshold in seven MLB seasons.
