Jonathan Lucroy getting some rest Friday

(7/25/14) The Brewers opted to give catcher Jonathan Lucroy his first day off in over two weeks Friday, in the second game of a series against the Brewers.

Lucroy has not been out of the team's lineup since July 9, and has caught 26 of the team's last 29 overall. He will likely be back in the lineup Saturday and Sunday to finish out the series.

(7/24/14) Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy belted his 12th home run Thursday against the Mets.

Lucroy wasted no time getting to work. In his first at-bat, Lucroy blasted an 89 mph cutter out to left field for a solo shot. He would also single in a run later in the game. Lucroy finished 2 for 4, with one run scored and two RBI.

(7/23/14) Jonathan Lucroy continued to make his case as the premier-hitting catcher in the sport Tuesday with another impressive performance, this time against Cincinnati.

Lucroy blasted solo home runs in the sixth and ninth innings for the Brewers. The latter - his 11th of the season - was a walk-off. He now boasts a stat line of .310/.381/.500. The two-homer game was his second in the last five weeks.

(7/15/14) Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy went 2 for 2 with two doubles and two RBI in Tuesday's All-Star Game, but the National League still fell to the American League, 5-3.

Lucroy batted eighth for the NL side, but he proved to be the best weapon on the team, following up a Chase Utley RBI double in the second inning with one of his own off Jon Lester to drive in the Phillies second baseman. The Brewers catcher then knocked another RBI double off Chris Sale with two outs in the fourth. Lucroy has established himself as one of the best offensive weapons at the catcher position in the league, hitting .315/.385/.494 with nine home runs and 44 RBI in 340 at-bats during the first half.

NL announces batting order for All-Star game

(7/14/14) Pirates outfielder Andrew McCutchen has been chosen as the leadoff hitter for the NL team in Tuesday's All-Star game.

The batting order following McCutchen will be Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig, Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (DH), Brewers third baseman Aramis Ramirez, Phillies second baseman Chase Utley, Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy and Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez.

Cardinals ace Adam Wainwright will be on the hill to start the game for the NL All-Stars.
