Brewers' Jonathan Lucroy gets first start at first base Friday
|by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com|
|(12:30 am ET) Brewers regular catcher Jonathan Lucroy drew his first start at first base after being cleared from a strained right hamstring injury. Manager Ron Roenicke wanted to be able to see Lucroy's versatility.
"Thought we needed to do it, so hopefully we can do it at least once more,” said Roenicke to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "But as much as he gets out there, it will help. There’s some pitchers that we still want him to catch and if we can get through those then maybe some other days we can get him over there again."
Lucroy was happy to finally be back on the field.
"I've been doing a little bit out there every day," Lucroy said. "Taking some grounders and stuff to stay sharp over there."

"I've been wanting to hit it hard to kind of see where I'm at. It felt good. Very, very good," Lucroy said.
Brewers' Jonathan Lucroy faces live pitching without any issues

|(3/12/15) Jonathan Lucroy faced live pitching and ran the bases in a minor-league game for the Brewers on Thursday, as he continues to work his way back from a mid-February hamstring strain, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
He went 2 for 5 with two singles, two strikeouts and a lineout, and reported no issues with his hamstring after the game.
"Seeing as that was the first live pitching I've seen since September, I'm pretty happy with the results," Lucroy said. “I felt good. I think it's more mental than anything because strength-wise and mobility-wise, I feel pretty good. There's still a little tightness there but I think that kind of come with it. You've just got to stay on top of it and be flexible and stuff."
Pink eye will keep Brewers C Jonathan Lucroy sidelined

Lucroy, who has been sidelined by a hamstring strain since mid-February, likely will make his debut Saturday.
Brewers' Lucroy to see minor-league action Thursday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(3/10/15) Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy is scheduled to play in minor-league games Thursday and Friday before potentially seeing Cactus League action next week, the Journal Sentinel reports.
Lucroy has been battling a hamstring strain since mid-February.
|2014 summary: Already considered one of the top catchers in Fantasy, Jonathan Lucroy took it to another level in 2014, not only getting his batting average back over .300 after a dip in 2013 but also more than doubling his career high with 53 doubles, a record for a catcher. He finished as the top catcher in Head-to-Head points leagues, and even in Rotisserie, where doubles don't count for anything, he was second.|
Playing time status: The Brewers are motivated to keep Lucroy's bat in the lineup, giving him occasional starts at first base. His numbers slipped a little in the second half, but that may have been due to him wearing down over the course of 585 at-bats, also tops among catchers.
2015 outlook: After three consecutive seasons of elite-level production, Lucroy's value to Fantasy owners should be pretty clear by now. You'll find catchers who hit more home runs, but Lucroy's more well-rounded skill set gives him a clear edge in the rankings. Buster Posey is about the only catcher you might consider drafting ahead of him, making Lucroy worth targeting as early as Round 4 in mixed leagues.
