Buster Posey smacks walkoff home run Wednesday

(1:23 am ET) Giants catcher Buster Posey went 3 for 5 with three RBI and hit a walkoff, two-run home run in his team's 4-2 win over the Rockies Wednesday.

Posey gave his team a 2-1 lead with an RBI single in the seventh inning, but the Rockies managed to even the game in the top of the ninth. The catcher came up with one on and two outs in the bottom of the ninth and came through with a game-ending homer. Posey has hit .292/.348/.465 with 18 home runs and 68 RBI in 449 at-bats.

(8/27/14) Giants catcher Buster Posey delivered all the offense to be had in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Rockies, going 2 for 4 with two home runs and three RBI.

Posey broke a scoreless tie with a two-run home run in the sixth inning before following with a solo home run in the eighth. That would be all the support starter Madison Bumgarner would need in his near-perfect game. Posey has hit .288/.346/.457 with 17 home runs and 65 RBI in 444 at-bats.

(8/22/14) Giants catcher Buster Posey shrugged off any injury concerns, reaching base five times Thursday night at Wrigley Field against the Cubs.

Posey doubled in the third, homered in the fifth, singled in the seventh and doubled again in the ninth. He finished the game 4 for 4 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI in a 5-3 victory.He is hitting .284/.345/.438 with 14 homers and 59 RBI over 425 at-bats.

(8/21/14) Giants catcher Buster Posey will play Thursday against the Cubs, as he told the San Jose Mercury News prior to the start of the doubleheader.

Posey was forced to sit out Wednesday's game, but improved enough to return to the starting lineup. It is not clear if Posey will be in the lineup for both games of the doubleheader, as the teams finish off Tuesday's suspended game. 

Buster Posey dealing with hip issue

(8/20/14) Giants catcher Buster Posey is dealing with left hip tightness, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Posey is scheduled to receive treatment Wednesday, and though he isn't in the starting lineup, he should be available off the bench. Manager Bruce Bochy hopes he'll be able to catch Thursday.
