(6/17/13) Giants catcher Buster Posey is not in Monday's starting lineup against the Padres. He has played 64 of his team's 68 games this season, starting each of the last six days.
Posey has hit .316/.390/.515 with eight home runs and 41 RBI in 231 at-bats.

(6/15/13) Giants catcher Buster Posey recorded his second consecutive three-hit game Friday in a 6-0 win at Atlanta. Posey doubled for all three hits and drove in a run.
He finished 3 for 5 in the game and has gone 8 for 15 over a three-game hitting streak with four doubles, four runs scored and five RBI. Posey has nine RBI over his last six games to get to 40 RBI on the year.
Batting .313 overall, Posey has gone 18 for 47 (.383) in June over 11 games with a homer.

(6/7/13) Giants manager Bruce Bochy shuffled his lineup Friday night against the Diamondbacks.
Buster Posey will bat third for the fourth time this season., Hunter Pence will bat cleanup for the 10th time and Pablo Sandoval will hit fifth for the first time since Aug. 14, 2012.

(6/2/13) San Francisco Giants catcher Buster Posey was 4 for 4 Sunday with two doubles in a 4-2 win at St. Louis.
Posey raised his batting average from .293 to .308. He started slow this year but had a solid May. He's on pace for nearly 100 RBI, but the home run total is low at seven.

(5/25/13) Giants catcher Buster Posey was 3 for 5 Saturday against the Rockies to extend his hitting streak to nine games. He also scored twice while raising his batting average to .312, a season high for the reigning MVP.

| Buster Posey's 2012 season began with a great deal of uncertainty, as he had not played since the previous May due to a gruesome injury to his leg and ankle. The grisly aftermath of the violent home plate collision between Posey and Marlins outfielder Scott Cousins had faded by November, as Posey had collected the National League MVP award, a batting title and a World Series championship. Posey had no problem rediscovering the home run power he established in his 2010 rookie season, as he mashed 24 homers in 2012. He didn't merely keep pace with his rookie level of performance, as he saw huge increases in his doubles and walk rates. The improvement could be sustainable as Posey became a more productive line drive hitter. According to FanGraphs, Posey hit 19 line drive doubles in 148 games in 2012 as compared to five in 108 games in 2010. With the proven ability to hit for power and average and a likely spot in the middle of the Giants' order, Posey is arguably the most valuable catcher in Fantasy, and he is sure to be the first backstop drafted in many leagues.
