Devin Mesoraco produces third career multi-HR game

(8/10/14) Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco totaled his third career multi-homer game Sunday, powering the Reds to a 7-2 win over the Marlins.

Mesoraco put Cincinnati up 2-1 with a two-run homer off Brad Hand in the first inning. He then crushed a grand slam in the fifth inning with two outs, chasing Hand from the game. It was his fourth career grand slam. 

Mesoraco reached 20 home runs for the first time in a season with his two-homer performance. He came into Sunday's game mired in a 7-for-29 slump in August.

(7/30/14) Catcher Devin Mesoraco did hit part in vain to try to lead the Reds to victory Wednesday against visiting Arizona.

Mesoraco blasted a three-run homer in the ninth inning off Diamondbacks closer Addison Reed to cut the deficit to 5-4. He had already singled in improving his stat line to .295/.367/.589. His 18 home runs leads all major league catchers.

(7/29/14) Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco hit his 17th home run Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Mesoraco struck in his first at-bat. He worked a five-pitch at-bat against Chase Anderson, hitting a 91 mph fastball out to left for the solo shot. He walked and singled during the contest. Mesoraco finished 2 for 5, with one run scored and one RBI.

(7/11/14) Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco slugged his 16th home run Friday against the Pirates. 

Mesoraco's big fly sparked the team's eighth inning comeback. He worked a four-pitch at-bat from Tony Watson. On the final pitch, Mesoraco belted a 96 mph fastball out to left for the solo shot. He finished 1 for 4, with one run scored and one RBI.
