Matt Holliday homers twice, totals five RBI in 13-2 rout
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(8/31/14) After going 0 for 4 in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Cardinals veteran outfielder Matt Holliday bounced back in a big way in the second game, homering twice in a 13-2 rout. Holliday finished 2 for 3 with five RBI and one walk in the win.

Holliday gave St. Louis a 4-1 lead when he hit a three-run homer off Tsuyoshi Wada in the bottom of the fifth inning. He then led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a solo home run. Holliday got up again during a nine-run eighth inning and tallied his last RBI on a bases-loaded hit by pitch with still no outs in the inning.

Holliday has been on a nice run over the last few weeks, hitting safely in 11 of 12 games. He is batting .298 with a .553 slugging percentage, .942 OPS, three doubles, three home runs, seven runs and 15 RBI in that span.
