Tigers' Justin Upton: Homers again in Game 1 Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/22/16) Upton hit his 26th home run of the season in the seventh inning during Game 1 of Thursday's Tigers doubleheader.

Insert more fire emojis here. The blast was his fourth in five days, seventh of the month (plus a .942 September OPS), and 16th since the All-Star break. He's matched his bomb total from last year and finally looks like the top-50 draft pick mixed leaguers expected but didn't get for most of this past season.

Tigers' Justin Upton: Accounts for all Tigers runs Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/17/16) Upton went 2-for-3 with a pair of homers, four RBI and a walk in Saturday's 11-4 loss to the Indians.

The slugging outfielder was the only member of the Tigers lineup to get to Corey Kluber, who otherwise stymied the Detroit offense. Upton took the former Cy Young winner deep with a 436-foot solo shot in the second and followed up with a 420-foot three-run blast in the sixth that cut the Indians lead to 6-4 at the time. It was Upton's fourth multi-hit game of September and first homer of the month, but his current .238 average is his lowest since his initial cup of coffee in the majors with the D-backs in 2007.

Tigers' Justin Upton: Returns to lineup Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/14/16) Upton (calf) is back in the lineup Wednesday against the Twins.

Upton exited Monday's contest with a calf strain and missed Tuesday's tilt as a result, but the issue is apparently minor enough that he'll be able to slot back into the lineup after just one day off. The 29-year-old will draw the start in left field and bat sixth against Minnesota starter Tyler Duffey.

Tigers' Justin Upton: Not in Tuesday's lineup

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/13/16) Upton (calf) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins.

Upton hoped to play Tuesday despite leaving Monday's game early with a strained calf, but he will get at least one day to rest and recover. Tyler Collins will get the start in left field Tuesday in Upton's place.

Tigers' Justin Upton: Hopes to play Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/12/16) Upton (calf) said he is hopeful that he will be able to play in Tuesday's game, MLB.com's Jason Beck reports.

He said the calf strain that forced him from Monday's contest after the third inning has been brewing for a couple days. He couldn't plant on a throw he made Monday, which resulted in him leaving early. Steven Moya and Tyler Collins are options to start in left field if Upton can't return Tuesday.
