Derek Jeter climbs to seventh on all-time hits list
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(12:15 am ET) Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter reached another milestone Monday night against the Rangers, cranking out two singles and a double. He finished 3 for 4 with a walk in his team's 4-2 defeat.

With his three hits, Jeter moved to seventh place all-time on the hits list. He has 3,420 hits and is now 10 hits away from surpassing Honus Wagner for sixth on the list. He owns a .278/.333/.329 slash line with two homers and 27 RBI in 374 at-bats this season.
Derek Jeter little more than singles hitter in swan song season
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(7/25/14) One might have expected that the production of 40-year-old future Hall of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter was destined to slip this season - and it has.

Jeter has been serviceable for the Yankees with a stat line of .270/.325/.320, numbers that pale in comparison to those he achieved even two years ago. He has just three hits in his last 17 at-bats with just one extra-base hit since July 1. He has not homered in more than a month.

Derek Jeter perfect in final All-Star appearance
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(7/15/14) Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter turned in a strong performance in his final All-Star Game Tuesday.

Jeter led off the bottom of the first with a double off Adam Wainwright. He came around to score on a double. In his second, and final, at-bat, Jeter singled against Alfredo Simon. Jeter came out on defense in the fourth inning, but was replaced by Alexei Ramirez before the inning began. He received a standing ovation from the fans at Target Field, and hugged each of his AL teammates in the dugout before tipping his cap to the crowd.
