Casey: Raptors will give Kyle Lowry 1-2 games off for rest

by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com
(6:25 pm ET) Raptors coach Dwane Casey said that the team will give Kyle Lowry a game or two off in the near future.

Lowry's first night off will be Saturday against the Knicks. Casey wants to give the point guard the chance to rest several nagging ailments.

Lowry is averaging 18 points, seven assists and 4.6 rebounds this season.

The Raptors are 12-point favorites on the road.

Raptors' Lowry, DeRozan on their recent struggles: We're 'both trash'

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(2/27/15) Raptors guards Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan owned up to their recent struggles, describing both of their games as of last as "trash," per NBA.com.

"Me? I'm trash," Lowry said following Thursday's practice. "I'm trying to figure it out right now, to be honest with you. I don't know (how to fix it), that's why I'm in here, working hard and trying to figure out what to do to get myself back on track."

The 28-year-old Lowry, who earned his first trip to the All-Star game in his nine-year career, started the season shooting 42.8 percent from the field, and 33.5 percent from downtown through his first 45 games. In his last 12 games, he's knocked down only 36.3 percent of his field foals, and 26.2 percent from downtown.

"Right next to the trash can (that Lowry's) is. Both trash," DeRozan said.

DeRozan, who missed 21 straight games due to groin injury earlier this season, is shooting 39.4 percent from the field this season. He is a career 44.2 percent shooter.

Lowry finished the game with 21 points on 6-for-9 shooting. He made all six of his free throws.

The Raptors host the Spurs, Sunday, in their next game.

Raptors' Lowry doesn't anticipate missing time with hamstring issue

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(2/3/15) Raptors guard Kyle Lowry told reporters after Tuesday's practice that his hamstring is a little sore, but it won't cause him to miss any upcoming games, reports NBA.com.

Lowry had to briefly leave Monday's game to receive treatment on his hamstring, but he downplayed the issue.

"Just a little soreness, but that's about it," Lowry said. "Nothing major, nothing that will keep me out."

In 49 games, Lowry is averaging 19.0 points and 7.3 assists.
