Magic's Serge Ibaka: Blocks five shots in loss to Pelicans

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/18/17) Ibaka tallied 11 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt), seven rebounds, five blocks and two assists across 25 minutes during a 118-98 loss to the Pelicans on Wednesday.

Ibaka tied his season high with five blocks and was one of the few bright spots as the team got destroyed by New Orleans. The former shot-blocking extraordinaire has shown the ability on the defensive end in spurts this season, but it hasn't appeared on a nightly basis, at least lately. Ibaka had had a total of just two blocks over the previous six games. He played just 25 minutes, his lowest total since he played 24 minutes on Dec. 26 against the Grizzlies, and he likely would have had a bigger game had the team not been blown out.

Magic's Serge Ibaka: Overcomes shoulder problems to post solid outing

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/15/17) Ibaka (shoulder) produced 13 points (5-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds and two assists over 33 minutes in Saturday's 114-107 loss to the Jazz.

The veteran big man shook off his sore right shoulder for the second consecutive night to produce a 13-point effort that matched his scoring output from Friday's tilt versus the Blazers. Ibaka was able to put up 10 shots in each contest, including a combined 13 from long range, so the injury certainly appears to be manageable at this point. Ibaka is off to a strong start in January, with double-digit scoring in all but one of the seven games he's played and averages of 15.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.7 blocks and 0.4 steals across 32.6 minutes per contest.

Magic's Serge Ibaka: Will start Saturday vs. Jazz

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/14/17) Ibaka (shoulder) will start in Saturday's tilt against the Jazz, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Ibaka is apparently feeling good enough to give it a go again Saturday after finishing Friday's game against the Trail Blazers with 13 points, 10 rebounds, one assist, and one block across 29 minutes. He shouldn't be on any sort of minutes restriction, and will likely only be limited by the amount of pain that he's in during the game, which seemed not to hamper him too badly on Friday.

Magic's Serge Ibaka: Questionable for Saturday vs. Jazz

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/14/17) Ibaka is listed as questionable for Saturday's tilt against the Jazz due to a sore right shoulder, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Ibaka missed Wednesday's loss to the Clippers due to his shoulder injury, but was able to give it a go in Friday's win over the Trail Blazers. He finished the contest with 13 points (4-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added 10 rebounds, an assist and a block in 29 minutes. It is unclear if he suffered any setbacks in the game or if the Magic are just being cautious with his questionable designation Saturday. Regardless, his status will not likely be determined until closer to game-time.

Magic's Serge Ibaka: Returns from absence with double-double

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/14/17) Ibaka scored 13 points (4-10 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added 10 rebounds, an assist and a block in 29 minutes during a 115-109 win over Portland on Friday.

Ibaka (shoulder) returned to the starting lineup and didn't appear to have any restrictions as far as playing time. He crashed the glass hard and spaced the floor with a trio of three pointers. It looks like Ibaka is back to business as usual, and his fantasy owners should feel comfortable starting him against the Jazz on Saturday.
