Wizards' Markieff Morris: Fills up box score in Game 4 win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/7/17) Morris managed 16 points (5-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 10 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in 35 minutes during Sunday's 121-102 win over the Celtics in Game 4.

Morris finished with playoff career highs in rebounds, assists, and steals while playing 30 minutes or more for the first time this series. Despite seeing just 23.0 minutes per game through Game 4 against the Celtics, Morris is actually sporting better numbers in the second round than he was in the first round, during which he scored in single digits in four of the six contests. Morris has now scored in double figures in three straight games, he has yet to miss a free-throw in the series (12-for-12), and seems likely to surpass 30 minutes once again in Wednesday's crucial Game 5 on the road.

Wizards' Markieff Morris: Not slowed by injured ankle

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/3/17) Morris (ankle) scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and added six rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 27 minutes during Tuesday's Game 2 overtime loss to the Celtics.

Despite struggling through an ankle injury, Morris started and was his usual-productive self, at least from a fantasy perspective. His numbers in this game were closer to his regular season averages than his playoff averages, which is a good thing. Look for him to play as he usually would in Game 3 Thursday.

Wizards' Markieff Morris: Remains game-time decision Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/2/17) Morris (ankle) was a limited participant in shootaround will be a game-time decision for Tuesday's Game 2 against the Celtics, A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet reports.

While Morris' status will likely not be confirmed until pregame warmups are underway, coach Scott Brooks appears to be adamant about his players not playing when hurt, so the team could err on the side of caution with their starting power forward Tuesday night. In the event that Morris is held out, Kelly Oubre would get the start, and the Wizards would likely play smaller lineups for majority of Game 2.

Wizards' Markieff Morris: Not officially ruled out for Game 2

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/1/17) Morris (ankle) has not officially been ruled out for Game 2, but he appears unlikely to play, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.

Coach Scott Brooks addressed the media Monday, and while he stopped short of ruling Morris out, his tone, according to Buckner, implied that Morris' chances of playing are slim. This runs contrary to comments from Morris, himself, who said earlier Monday that he'll "definitely" play in Game 2. The decision will ultimately be in the hands of the Wizards' training staff, and a more definitive update should be available following Tuesday's shootaround.

Wizards' Markieff Morris: 'I'm playing [Game 2]'

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/1/17) Morris (ankle) said Monday that he will play in Tuesday's Game 2 against the Celtics, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.

Morris sprained his left ankle after landing on the foot of Al Horford during Sunday's Game 1, knocking him out of the game after playing only 11 minutes. The forward noted that swelling in the ankle has subsided and told reporters, "I'm playing tomorrow. That's final." With that quote in mind, Morris' status doesn't appear to be in much, if any, jeopardy, though it seems unlikely that he'd be at 100 percent health by Tuesday's 8:00 PM ET tip.
