Spurs' Danny Green: Goes 2-of-13 from field Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/13/17) Green was held to six points (2-13 FG, 2-10 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 34 minutes in a 94-90 loss to the Knicks on Sunday.

Green entered Sunday with a season-best three-game streak of double-digit scoring production, but he struggled to find any rhythm against the Knicks, resulting in a disappointing outing. The veteran shooting guard is still one of the top marksmen in the league with a 40.6 percent mark from three-point range on the season, so while he should rediscover his touch before long, don't count on Green to regularly rain in the points. He's only putting up 6.6 field-goal attempts per game, his fewest since 2010-11.

Spurs' Danny Green: Misses all eight three-point attempts Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/25/17) Green recorded four points (2-12 FG, 0-8 3Pt), seven rebounds, four blocks, two assists and one steal in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 108-106 win over the Raptors.

Green had his worst shooting performance of the season, failing to hit any of his eight shots from behind the arc and hitting an abysmal 16.7 percent from the field. However, the 29-year-old actually had a strong game, shooting aside, as he filled out the stat sheet and matched season highs in both rebounds and blocks. Green continues to produce consistent numbers on the whole and is averaging 7.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks in 26.4 minutes this season.

Spurs' Danny Green: Scores 14 points Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/11/17) Green scored 14 points (5-12 FG, 4-9 3Pt), grabbed three rebounds and blocked one shot in 26 minutes during Tuesday's 109-107 loss to the Bucks.

With Lamarcus Aldridge sitting out with the flu and Manu Ginobili going 1-for-6 from the floor, the Spurs were forced to rely on Green for additional scoring. The 29-year-old matched a season-high 12 shots from the field and hit four or more three-pointers for the fourth time this season. While double-digit scoring performances are few and far between, Green has been quite reliable from three and is currently shooting a career-high 45.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Spurs' Danny Green: Tallies season-high 18 points Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/31/16) Green put up 18 points (6-9 FG, 6-8 3Pt) and added two rebounds, one assist and one block across 31 minutes in a 110-94 win over the Trail Blazers on Friday.

With Kawhi Leonard (illness) sitting out and LaMarcus Aldridge held to eight points against his former team, the Spurs needed some of their complementary parts to step up, and Green was one of the more notable players to elevate his game. The 18 points and six three-pointers were both season highs for Green, who has been red hot behind the arc over the past few weeks. He's averaging 2.9 three-point baskets over the Spurs' last eight games while converting those shots at a 56.1 percent clip.

Spurs' Danny Green: Contributes 10 points in Thursday loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/23/16) Green managed 10 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3Pt), five rebounds, an assist and a steal over 30 minutes in Thursday's 106-101 loss ot the Clippers.

Green's offensive contributions are frequently an afterthought in an offense that relies heavily on contributions from Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge and Pau Gasol, but he's now posted double-digit scoring in consecutive games for only the second time this season. The veteran sharpshooter is enjoying a stellar month from three-point range, as he's managed a 44.2 percent success rate from beyond the arc on his 43 attempts from beyond the arc over that span. While recent results are encouraging, Green's contributions still primarily come on the defensive end in the majority of games.
