Blazers didn't make offer to free agent Wesley Matthews

(7/3/15) The Trail Blazers didn't make an offer to free-agent guard Wesley Matthews, per The Oregonian.

Matthews, who agreed to a four-year deal with the Mavericks, played 60 games for the Blazers last season, averaging 15.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.

The Blazers could potentially lose four starters from last season's team, with Nicolas Batum, Robin Lopez, LaMarcus Aldridge and Matthews all potentially joining new teams this offseason.

(7/3/15) Free-agent guard Wesley Matthews has agreed to join the Mavericks on a four-year deal, sources told NBA.com's David Aldridge.

Matthews averaged 15.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game last season for the Trail Blazers before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury.

Matthews reportedly received a multi-year contract offer from the Kings as well.

(7/2/15) The Kings have offered guard Wesley Matthews a sizable contract, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. 

The deal is reportedly for three years and in the $45 million range. This news comes on the heels of Matthews meeting with the Raptors and Mavericks in recent days. Before his Achilles injury, Matthews averaged 15.9 points in 33 minutes per game with the Trail Blazers.

Previous reports indicated Matthews wanted a deal averaging $15 million per year, which would have the Kings right in the ballpark.

He has already met with the Mavericks, sources have told ESPN.

Matthews thrived with the Trail Blazers last year before losing the last month of the regular season and playoffs to Achilles surgery. He averaged 15.9 points in 33 minutes per game.

Reports have claimed he is seeking about $15 million per season.

(6/23/15) Trail Blazers guard Wesley Matthews is seeking a multi-year deal that pays $15 million annually in free agency, a source has told USA Today.

His health could be a factor. He tore his Achilles tendon on March 5, He is expected to be ready to roll for training camp, but will likely be forced to proceed slowly into the exhibition season.

Matthews has proven himself worthy of a significant contract. He scored a career-high 16.4 points per game two years ago and followed it by averaging 15.9 last season. He shot 44.8 percent from the field this past year and is considered a strong defender.
