Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Shoots 4-for-17, benched in fourth quarter

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/21/17) Irving provided 13 points (4-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four assists and two rebounds across 28 minutes in a 119-114 win over the Pacers on Thursday in Game 3 of the series.

Down 25 points at halftime, the Cavaliers looked to be on their way to a blowout loss in Game 3, but thanks to a brilliant performance from LeBron James (41 points, 13 rebounds, 12 assists), Cleveland was able to claim a momentous comeback victory. Irving was nowhere to be found in the fourth quarter, however, as coach Tyronn Lue benched both the point guard and co-star Kevin Love, allowing James and some of the team's secondary players to finish off the Pacers. Irving probably won't have many more 4-for-17 shooting games left in him during the playoffs, so expect him to see closer to 35 minutes Sunday in Game 4 as the Cavaliers look to close out the series.

Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Pours in game-high 37 Monday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/17/17) Irving recorded 37 points (14-24 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 5-5 FT), two rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes in a 117-111 Game 2 win over the Pacers on Monday.

Irving shot the ball in volume and shouldered much of the Cavs scoring load, ending with a game-high 37 points. The flashy guard didn't contribute much besides points, but when a player is scoring like Irving it's easy to forgive. Perhaps most encouraging was his bounce-back performance from the three point line after shooting just 1-of-9 from deep in Game 1.

Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Scores 23 in Game 1 win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/15/17) Irving scored 23 points (11-27 FG, 1-9 3Pt, 0-1 FT) while adding six assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block in 39 minutes during Saturday's 109-108 Game 1 win over the Pacers.

The Cavs barely escaped Game 1 by the skin of their teeth, needing a C.J. Miles miss at the buzzer to hang on for the win, and Irving's struggles from three-point range were a big reason why the game was as close as it was. The 25-year-old came into the game as a career 44.3 percent shooter from beyond the arc in the playoffs, though, so expect him to bounce back quickly.

Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Starting Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/15/17) Irving (knee) is in the starting lineup for Saturday's series opener against the Pacers, Cavaliers' play-by-play broadcaster John Michael reports.

Irving sat out of the final two games of the regular season in order to rest a lingering knee injury. There have been no reported setbacks while he has been sidelined, so the Duke product figures to take on a full workload in a point guard matchup against the Pacers' Jeff Teague.

Cavaliers' Kyrie Irving: Will not play Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/12/17) Irving (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Raptors, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.

Irving, along with Kevin Love and LeBron hames, will sit out the final game of the regular season in what is likely just another maintenance day with the playoffs just around the corner. Deron Williams will likely start and play extended minutes at point guard once again in Kyrie's absence. Williams is coming off a performance against the Heat on Monday where he recorded a season-high 35 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in 46 minutes.
