Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace could earn minutes at PF

(4:32 pm ET) Celtics head coach Brad Stevens indicated that Jeff Green and Gerald Wallace could earn some minutes at power forward to start the season, according to the MetroWest Daily News on Tuesday. The move would likely cut into the playing time of Jared Sullinger and Brandon Bass.

Green appeared in all 82 games last season for the Celtics, averaging 16.9 points, 4.6 boards and 1.7 assists per outing. Wallace was limited to 58 games in 2013-14 and averaged only 5.1 points in 24.4 minutes per game.

(3/2/14) Celtics forward Gerald Wallace have undergo season-ending surgery to repair his torn meniscus at some point next week, MassLive.com reports on Sunday.

Wallace was diagnosed with the injury earlier in the week after a precautionary visit to the doctor. He played in 58 games for the Celtics this season, averaging 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

(2/28/14) Celtics forward Gerald Wallace underwent an MRI that revealed a torn meniscus on Friday, according to Comcast SportsNet Northeast.

Wallace had been complaining about knee soreness which caused him to go see a doctor on Thursday. He is expected to undergo surgery and could be in danger of missing the remainder of the season.

"So he's sitting there, he had no idea," head coach Brad Stevens said. "I feel bad for him. I told you many times, he's a warrior. He plays through anything and everything."

Wallace played in 58 games for the Celtics this season, averaging 5.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

(2/7/14) Celtics forward Gerald Wallace came close to a triple-double Friday, scoring eight points on 4 of 8 shooting while grabbing a season-high 12 rebounds and matching a season high with nine assists in his team's 99-89 win over the Kings.

It was the second time this season Wallace came on the verge of a triple-double, with the previous instance coming via a 9-9-9 line in early November. He has averaged 4.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists over 50 games played.

(2/5/14) Celtics forward Gerald Wallace played 21 minutes Wednesday against the 76ers, after missing the team's previous game with personal issues. He scored four points on 2 of 3 shooting, with three rebounds and a steal in the 114-108 win.

Wallace has appeared in 49 games, but is putting up his worst production since 2003-04. He is averaging just 4.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 23.4 minutes per game.
