Lakers PF Carlos Boozer doubles up vs. Rockets
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(11/20/14) Lakers power forward Carlos Boozer scored 12 points on 5 of 15 shooting while grabbing 13 rebounds in his team's 98-92 win over the Rockets Wednesday.
Boozer entered play this week with no double-doubles this season but has pulled off the feat in back-to-back games on back-to-back nights after putting up a 20-10 line Tuesday. Consequently, the Lakers have won both those games after going 1-9 to start the season. Boozer also chipped in one assist and played 30 minutes in Wednesday's win. The Lakers will look for their third win in a row Friday in Dallas.
PF Carlos Boozer fitting in well early with Lakers

|(10/9/14) The Lakers raised more than a few eyebrows when they acquired veteran forward Carlos Boozer with an amnesty bid of $3.2 million, especially when one considers they drafted fellow forward Julius Randle with the seventh overall pick. But Byron Scott plans on playing Boozer extensively.
Included will be the Thursday night preseason game against Golden State. Scott claims that Boozer will continue the consistent production that has resulted in a career averages of 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, as well as 45.6 percent shooting.
"Carlos has got a lot of experience and understands how to play," Scott told the Los Angeles Daily News. "He's a good communicator out there. We knew he's a guy who can make mid-range shots. We know we can also throw it to him in the post a little bit."
Boozer performed well in a Monday night defeat of Denver in which he totaled six points, four rebounds and three assists while establishing an on-court relationship with veteran stars Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.
Julius Randle ready to come off the bench behind Carlos Boozer
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(9/30/14) Lakers rookie forward Julius Randle, who was the seventh overall pick in this year's draft, told the Los Angeles Times that he's ready to come off the bench behind Carlos Boozer this season.
"He deserves what he gets because he's put in the time and he's been successful," Randle said. "We're both going to be on the floor, whoever starts or not; that's not really my focus or worry."
|Carlos Boozer went from one crowded front court to another, though at the very least he should be more of a featured player in Los Angeles than he was in Chicago. Boozer averaged 13.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for the Bulls last season, his lowest averages since he was a rookie. The soon-to-be 33-year-old is past his prime, but he could be a second option on the Lakers next season. At this point in his career, Boozer is not an exciting Fantasy option, but he could be useful as a low-end starter, worth targeting in the second half of the draft on Draft Day.
