Pelicans F John Salmons to return Saturday

(11/8/14) Pelicans forward John Salmons will return to action Saturday after missing two games to attend the birth of his child, the team's website reports. He's played just 15 minutes in two games this season, failing to score while going 0 for 2 from the field.

(11/4/14) Pelicans coach Monty Williams told reporters he'll be without Luke Babbitt, Darius Miller and John Salmons Tuesday night against Charlotte, per the team's official website.

Salmons is still away from the team to attend the birth of his child. Babbitt sprained the middle finger on his left hand Monday against Memphis. Miller was labeled inactive for the game due to personal reasons.

(11/3/14) Pelicans forward John Salmons was away from the team and unavailable to play Monday night against Memphis in order attend the birth of his child, according to the team's official website. Salmons has yet to score a point through his first two appearances this season.

John Salmons waived for cap savings

(7/11/14) The Hawks officially waived forward John Salmons Friday, after acquiring him in a cap-clearing move at the draft.

Salmons was due a $7 million salary for 2014-15 season, but the Hawks were able to waive him while paying just $1 million of that. He averaged just 5.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 78 games for the Raptors and Kings last season.

(6/30/14) The Raptors improved their backcourt depth Sunday by acquiring guard Lou Williams in a deal with the Hawks. According to Yahoo Sports, Atlanta receives forward John Salmons, and Atlanta also obtain the rights to Lucas Nogueira.

Williams played sparingly for the Hawks after returning form knee surgery. He averaged 10.4 points and 3.5 assists on the year. Salmons was sent to Toronto in the Rudy Gay trade but failed to make an impact. Nogueira was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2013 draft and played center in the Spanish ACB League last season.
