Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Will remain out for Game 6

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/27/17) Allen (leg) has been ruled out for Thursday's Game 6 against the Spurs.

Allen remains doubtful for the remainder of the first round, so if the Grizzlies do extend the series to a Game 7, he still likely won't be cleared for a return to the court. James Ennis has started the last two games and has averaged 9.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assist across 31.5 minutes. He remains the favorite to start in Allen's place.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Out for Game 5

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/24/17) Allen (leg) has officially been ruled out for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Spurs.

Allen was recently able to shed his walking boot and also took part in some conditioning on a stationary bike over the weekend, but the Grizzlies still don't expect to have him back at any point during the first round of the playoffs. He's now officially been ruled out for Game 5 on Tuesday and should be considered doubtful for Game 6 as well. James Ennis started the Grizzlies' last contest and logged 32 minutes, so he should be in line for another increase in playing time, while Wayne Selden is also a candidate to see a bigger role.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Out of walking boot

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/22/17) Allen (calf) is out of his walking boot, but remains doubtful for the Grizzlies' first round series against the Spurs, Michael Wallace of Grizzlies.com reports.

Allen was able to work on his conditioning via a stationary bike during the team's practice. He has been sidelined since sustaining the injury in the team's regular season finale against the Mavericks. Wayne Selden and James Ennis have both filled in for the veteran in the starting lineup, but the latter figures to get another starting nod should Allen officially be ruled out for Game 4.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Remains out Thursday vs. Spurs

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/19/17) Allen (calf) has been ruled out for Thursday's Game 3 against the Spurs.

Allen continues to be evaluated on a game-to-game basis despite being expected to sit out the entirety of the first round of the playoffs. He'll continue to receive treatment over the next few days, with his next shot to see the court for Saturday's Game 4, but if all goes as expected, Allen likely won't be available for that contest either. Wayne Selden has started the last two games in his place, but played just 16 minutes Monday, so guys like Vince Carter and James Ennis appear to be benefiting more in Allen's absence.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen: Ruled out Monday vs. Spurs

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/16/17) Allen (calf) has officially been ruled out for Monday's Game 2 matchup with the Spurs.

It was reported late last week that Allen was doubtful for the entire first round of the playoffs, so it comes as no surprise he won't be available against the Spurs on Monday. He'll continue to be evaluated on a game-to-game basis, but currently, it's unlikely he'd see the court again this season if the Grizzlies aren't able to make it out of the first round. Wayne Selden started in his place in Game 1 and could be in line for a second straight start, while both Vince Carter and James Ennis should also see added minutes.
