Grizzlies guard Tony Allen set to play in Game 6

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(5/15/15) Grizzlies guard and premier defender Tony Allen is ready to roll for Game 6 of their second-round series against Golden State on Friday night.

He has to be. His team is one loss from elimination. There will be plenty of time to nurse his strained left hamstring in an offseason he doesn't want to arrive too quickly. He considers himself 60 percent, but that will have to do.

"Obviously, I'm fighting the injury," he told the San Francisco Chronicle. "But I'm ready to come out and help my team win, the best way I can, whatever percent. I want to be in this battle with my teammates."

Dave Joerger said he purposely withheld Allen from Game 5 to give him three days to heal.

(5/14/15) Grizzlies guard Tony Allen (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Warriors, ESPN.com reports.

Allen, who missed his team's Game 5 loss while recovering from a hamstring injury, said he would play in the possible elimination game in Memphis Friday, but the team is calling him questionable to play for now.

Down 3-2 in the series, the Grizzlies are 5-point home underdogs in Game 6.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen (hamstring) says he'll play in Game 6

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5/14/15) Grizzlies guard Tony Allen said after Wednesday's 98-78 loss to the Warriors that he'll play in Game 6 Friday despite his hamstring injury, Yahoo! Sports reports.

The Grizzlies had trouble defending the Warriors' attack Wednesday, allowing the opposition to shoot 46.9 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from 3-point range. Allen missed the game after playing just 16 minutes in Game 4 while suffering the hamstring injury.

Game 6 is set for Friday in Memphis. The Warriors lead the series 3-2.

Grizzlies' Tony Allen (hamstring) out for Game 5 Wednesday

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(5/13/15) Grizzlies guard Tony Allen has been ruled out for Game 5 against the Warriors Wednesday, WHBQ reports.

Allen played just 16 minutes in the team's Game 4 loss while dealing with a hamstring injury and was considered a gametime decision Wednesday. He's averaged nine points per game in the first four games of the series but has seen his scoring total consistently decline, scoring four points in Monday's loss.

The Wizards are 9 1/2-point underdogs on the road Wednesday.
