Warriors planning rest days for Andre Iguodala, Andrew Bogut

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(1/18/15) Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters he is planning on resting small forward Andre Iguodala and could rest center Andrew Bogut for some time, according to mercurynews.com

"Andre's not real happy," Kerr said smiling after Iguodala reluctantly agreed to miss his first game of the season. "He wants to play every second of every game, so I have to protect him from himself a little bit."

Iguodala is coming off of a season where knee tendinitis kept him limited for some time. Bogut is still recovering from knee inflammation, which kept him out of action for a month.

"Thankfully we're in a position where we can do that," Bogut said of getting rest. "If we're 20-15 at this point, we don't do that. There are some luxuries and rewards in performing well early."

Kerr also hinted that point guard Stephen Curry and shooting guard Klay Thompson may get some time off, as the two are playing less minutes this season than in previous years.

"Whether it's Pop or anybody else, to me, it's common sense," Kerr said. "And when you get into a long stretch, and you're fortunate enough to be able to mix and manage, then you just do it. It makes sense in the long run."

Warriors' Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala get the night off vs. Thunder

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1/16/15) Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters that Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala will sit out Friday's clash against the Thunder. Both players are getting a night off to rest amid Golden State's four-games-in-five-nights set, per the San Francisco Chronicle.

Golden State is a 1 1/2-point road favorite against Oklahoma City.

Warriors C Andrew Bogut available Tuesday vs. Jazz

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(1/13/15) Warriors coach Steve Kerr said center Andrew Bogut will be available to play Tuesday against the Jazz, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Bogut was listed as questionable to play due to an illness, but he's expected to start Tuesday's game against the Jazz. He's played just two games since returning from a knee injury, averaging 4.0 points and 6.5 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per game.

Golden State is an 8 1/2-point favorite in Utah Tuesday.

Report: Warriors' Bogut ruled questionable Tuesday; Ezeli out

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(1/13/15) While Warriors center Andrew Bogut was hoping to make his return to the starting lineup Tuesday against the Jazz, an illness is causing his playing status to be undetermined, reports The San Francsico Chronicle.

Bogut did not participate in the team’s shootaround Tuesday and was sent back to the team hotel. He is listed as questionable. Center Festus Ezeli was ruled out as he recovers from an ankle injury. Forward Marreese Speights is expected to start if Bogut is unable to play.

The Warriors are 8-point favorites.

Warriors center Bogut could be ready to return to starting lineup

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1/13/15) Warriors center Andrew Bogut is expected to be back in the starting lineup Tuesday at Utah, according to SFGate.com. He has come off the bench in his first two games back from a knee injury.

"It’s probably a good time to get back to that, because that’s ultimately what we want to do," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said Monday. "Then, we’ve got to see what transpires in the rotation behind him and everybody else who’s starting. There’s a good chance it’ll be (Tuesday). If not, it’ll be the following night, but it’s coming."

Bogut has averaged 4.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in his first two games back after sitting out 12 games.
