Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Solid in Wednesday's start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/6/17) Frye finished with 10 points (3-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two steals and an assist over 17 minutes in Wednesday's 114-91 win against the Celtics.

Frye was making the start in place of the injured Tristan Thompson (thumb). He stepped up and did a decent job, making him worth a look in DFS play as long as he is included in the starting five.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Will start Wednesday's contest

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/5/17) Frye will start in place of Tristan Thompson during Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Joe Vardon of cleveland.com reports.

Frye will earn the start due to Thompson's inactive status. As a primary role player for the Cavaliers, Frye is averaging 8.9 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game this season. With Thompson temporarily sidelined, there's a chance the 10-year veteran could add to those numbers. In addition to Frye, Larry Sanders is also expected to see some action in Wednesday's game.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Provides five points in 28 minutes Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/31/17) Frye tallied five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and one block across 28 minutes in a 99-93 loss to the Bulls on Thursday.

Frye's 28 minutes matched his highest total in March, which previously came in a game against the Clippers a little under two weeks ago when the Cavaliers were holding out LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving for rest. The veteran big man benefited mostly from Richard Jefferson's (knee) absence Friday, but he figures to settle back into the 15-to-20-minute range once Jefferson is available again. As his production Thursday shows, Frye doesn't offer much fantasy upside even in a more elevated role.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Will start Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/18/17) Frye will start at power forward for Saturday's tilt against the Clippers, Joe Gabriele of Cavs.com reports.

With Kevin Love (rest) out, Frye will draw the start Saturday at power forward. LeBron James (rest) and Kyrie Irving (rest/knee) are also out, giving Frye an opportunity to have a high-volume game from beyond the arc while playing significantly more minutes than usual.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Drains five three-pointers in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/10/17) Frye scored 15 points (5-7 FG, 5-7 3Pt) and added nine rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes during Thursday's 106-101 loss to the Pistons.

Frye only attempted threes Thursday, and was one three short of matching his season high in the category. Over the last five games, 24 of the 33 (73%) of the shots Frye has attempted have been from behind the arc. This is an increase from the rest of the season, when only 64 percent of his shots were from outside. The result is that in increases the level of inconsistency that should be expected from Frye, since so much of his value comes from his threes and his scoring. His fantasy value is now almost entirely dependent on whether or not his shot is falling, as it was Thursday.
