Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Doesn't play in Game 5 win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/14/16) Frye (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in Monday's 112-97 Game 5 win over the Warriors.

With Kevin Love back to full health for the last two games after sitting out Game 3 with a concussion, Frye was dropped from the rotation Monday, as coach Tyronn Lue opted to deploy a combination of Love, Richard Jefferson and LeBron James at power forward. Love was rendered ineffective for most of the night, finishing with just two points and four fouls in 33 minutes, but Lue said after the game that Love would continue to start in Thursday's Game 6. As a result, it's unlikely that Frye will see much run in that contest.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Hits four three-pointers in Game 4 loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/24/16) Frye scored 12 points (4-8 FG, 4-8 3Pt) and added six rebounds and one assist across 21 minutes in Monday's 105-99 Game 4 loss to the Raptors.

Frye ended up taking on more court time in the fourth quarter with Kevin Love (knee) getting held out for the entire period, and as per usual, he provided the Cavs with some solid three-point production. He's now hit multiple three-pointers in five straight outings, but with coach Tyronn Lue already indicating that Love will be good to go for Wednesday's Game 5, Frye isn't expected to see his role grow much from here.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Scores 11 in Game 3 loss Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/22/16) Frye scored 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 3Pt) while adding three rebounds, three steals and a block in 21 minutes during Saturday's Game 3 loss to the Raptors.

The Toronto defense turned in its best effort of the series Saturday and did a much better job protecting the paint, but as a result Frye and J.R. Smith were both able to get some open looks from beyond the arc. If the Cavs make any adjustments heading into Game 4 on Monday, it could result in more action and more production from Frye.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Scores career-high 27 in Game 3 win Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/6/16) Frye scored a playoff career-high 27 points (10-13 FG, 7-9 3Pt) while adding seven rebounds and a steal in 28 minutes off the bench during Friday's win over the Hawks in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference semi-final.

He came into Friday's game with just 23 combined points in six games for the Cavs this postseason, so to say Frye's eruption was unexpected would be a major understatement. The Hawks don't seem able to prevent Cleveland from scoring at will from beyond the arc, so another big performance from Frye is always possible when the Cavs look for the series sweep Sunday in Atlanta.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Scores 12 points in Wednesday's Game 2 win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/5/16) Frye finished with 12 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists, and one steal across 20 minutes during the Cavaliers' 123-98 win over the Hawks in Wednesday's Game 2.

Frye played more minutes than starter Tristan Thompson, but this was likely due to the game being a complete blowout. Still, Frye has been seeing some time at center as the Cavaliers continue to go small and shoot a lot of threes. After sitting out the first postseason game against the Pistons, Frye has averaged 4.6 points and two rebounds in 17 minutes during the last five contests. There were two straight scoreless showings thrown in there, but Frye is averaging 10 points per game against the Hawks here in round two.
