Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Starts, posts double-double versus T-Wolves

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/14/17) Frye started and played 33 minutes during Tuesday's 116-108 win over the T-Wolves, posting 21 points (7-15 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, two blocks and one assist.

In the first game since it was announced that Kevin Love (knee) would miss roughly six weeks of action, Frye put on his best impression of his ailing teammate and came away with his second double-double of the season. Frye's role is pretty clearly defined on offense, as most of his shot attempts will come from behind the arc, and he could be a useful addition for fantasy owners down the stretch as the primary beneficiary of the vacancy in the Cavs' starting five.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Set for increased role

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/14/17) Frye is expected to step into a larger role after the Cavaliers announced Kevin Love (knee) will miss at least the next six weeks.

Love underwent a knee scope Tuesday and is expected to remain out until late-March, and Frye is the obvious candidate to receive more playing time in his absence. The Cavs have already named Frye a starter for Tuesday's game against Minnesota, and that will likely remain the case going forward, barring a significant roster move before the trade deadline. Cleveland was already going to be in the market for another rotation-caliber player or two at the deadline, and Love's absence only makes the team's quest to take pressure off of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving more of a pressing issue. That said, from a fantasy perspective, Frye should be treated as a starter until -- or unless -- the Cavaliers make a move that would affect the frontcourt rotation.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Will start in place of Love (knee)

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/13/17) Frye will get the start at power forward in place of Kevin Love (knee) on Tuesday against Minnesota, Cavs play-by-play voice Fred McLeod reports.

A sore left knee will keep Love out of action Tuesday, and with the Cavs also playing Wednesday on the second night of a back-to-back, it's possible Frye could see a boosted role for the next two contests heading into the All-Star break. Frye played only 11 minutes in Saturday's win over Denver, finishing with eight points, one rebound and two three-pointers. The 33-year-old's value primarily stems from his ability to space the floor at 6-foot-11.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Hits four threes in win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/5/17) Frye scored 14 points (5-9 FG, 4-8 3Pt) along with three rebounds and two assists in 16 minutes Saturday during a 111-104 win over the Knicks.

Frye made the most out of his catch-and-shoot opportunities. Although he missed two free throws, Frye had a very efficient night off the bench, scoring close to a point a minute. Frye's on a bit of a hot streak right now, putting up double-digit points in each of his last three games.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Scores 18 as starter Wednesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/1/17) Frye posted 18 points (7-13 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal across 22 minutes in a 125-97 win over the Timberwolves on Wednesday.

Frye started in place of Kevin Love on Wednesday, but didn't see a major bump in minutes as Richard Jefferson also helped to pick up some of the slack at power forward. Frye is a good bet to return to the bench for the Cavs' next matchup against the Knicks on Friday as Love is expecting to play in the game.
