Pacers' C.J. Miles: Will return to bench role Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/26/17) Miles will come off the bench for Sunday's game against the 76ers.

Coach Nate McMillan is looking to speed up the game flow Sunday, so he's opted to go with Monta Ellis over Miles as the team's starting shooting guard. It remains to be seen if this is just a one-game experiment or if this will be a lineup used more frequently as the season comes to a close, but either way, it likely means a few less minutes for Miles.

Pacers' C.J. Miles: Drains four three-pointers in loss to Hornets

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/6/17) Miles scored 16 points (6-11 FG, 4-7 3Pt) while adding four rebounds and four assists over the course of 33 minutes on the floor during Monday's 100-88 loss to the Hornets.

Miles shot the ball effectively, especially from downtown, and he was the only Pacer besides Paul George to top 12 points in this contest. He has seen spotty playing time on some occasions despite earning a spot in the starting lineup, but he has seen at least 28 minutes per game in each of the last three and has responded with averages of 16 points, five rebounds and 3.7 made three-pointers per game.

Pacers' C.J. Miles: Provides four treys in loss

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/2/17) Miles posted 19 points (7-15 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 1-1 FT) and 6 rebounds across 27 minutes in Wednesday's 100-99 loss to the Spurs.

Miles showed why he's earned a spot in Indiana's starting lineup as he shot well from the field and poured in four triples on Wednesday. He's been averaging 46.7 percent from beyond the arc in the month of February, and now has 14 threes over the past four games. Although we may see a bit less from Miles as Thaddeus Young gets back to full speed and reassumes more production in the offense, Miles will still see his share of minutes and is definitely worth a look in deeper leagues.

Pacers' C.J. Miles: Expected to start Friday vs. Grizzlies

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/24/17) Coach Nate McMillan noted that Miles is expected to start at shooting guard Friday against the Grizzlies, Nate Taylor of the Indianapolis Star reports.

Miles' insertion into the starting five will be contingent on Thaddeus Young (wrist) being cleared to play, but with Young listed as probable after taking part in morning shootaround, that appears to be little more than a formality. With Miles reentering the top unit, Slam Dunk Contest champion Glenn Robinson will presumably head back to the bench and be in store for a drop in playing time.

Pacers' C.J. Miles: Provides eight points in bench role

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/16/17) Miles supplied eight points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and two rebounds across 19 minutes off the bench in a 113-104 loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

After exploding for 23 points in last Saturday's loss to the Bucks, Miles has been curiously dropped to the bench the last two games, and has seen his playing time tail off a result. Perhaps coach Nate McMillan is simply looking to add a scoring presence to the second unit with Miles, but any spike in usage rate the wing might notice is diminished by the steep downturn in playing time. With his replacement in the starting five, Glenn Robinson, going off for 19 points Wednesday, Miles might not have a case to reclaim a starting role anytime soon.
