Williams back in action : Jazz forward Marvin Williams was able to get back on the court for Friday's contest against the T'Wolves after missing the previous game with an illness. Williams finished with four points in the 107-100 win on 1 of 2 shooting from the field. He also added thee rebounds and two assists to his stat line, while logging 17 minutes of game action.

| Fantasy Analysis |
Williams has been largely a non-factor recently, due to a lingering heel injury. He is averaging just 7.4 points per game on the season, and can be safely ignored in most Fantasy formats, even when healthy.

| After spending the first seven seasons of his career in Atlanta, Marvin Williams was dealt to the Jazz over the summer in exchange for Devin Harris. The 26-year-old will likely be inserted into the starting lineup at small forward for Utah, which means Fantasy owners should be able to expect the usual type of production from the former University of North Carolina standout. Williams has been a model of consistency over his career as he has posted a 10-5-1 statline in each of his last three seasons and shot just under 45 percent from the field over that stretch. There isn't much reason to think that is going to change anytime soon and Williams could actually wind up losing minutes if the Jazz decide to use their big lineup as they did many times last year. While Williams doesn't do one thing particularly well, his ability to fill up the stat sheet continues to give him value in deeper category-based formats. Only owners in those formats should consider selecting Williams with a late-round pick next fall. (Updated 8/22/12) |
