Hornets' Marvin Williams: Hits double-digit scoring in eighth straight game

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/8/17) Williams posted 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and two blocks across 33 minutes in a 111-107 win over the Nets on Tuesday.

Williams disappointed earlier in the season when his field-goal percentage dragged down his overall fantasy value, but the veteran has quietly returned to form since late January. He's reached double figures in scoring in eight straight contests, averaging 14.0 points (on 45.2% shooting) to go with 6.5 boards, 1.9 three-pointers, 1.1 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.0 block in 32.0 minutes per game during that span. As a complementary piece in the Hornets attack, Williams doesn't attract much attention, but his well-rounded contributions could make him an attractive trade target in fantasy leagues while his acquisition cost remains fairly low.

Hornets' Marvin Williams: Returns to Monday's game

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/23/17) Williams (toe) has returned to Monday's game against the Wizards, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Williams temporarily went to the locker room with a bruised toe, but was able to come back and re-enter the game after likely getting it taped up. He should be good to go moving forward and shouldn't have any restrictions, barring any in-game setbacks.

Hornets' Marvin Williams: Leaves Monday's game with toe contusion

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/23/17) Williams has a right toe contusion and is questionable to return to Monday's game against the Wizards, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reports.

Williams temporarily went to the locker room, but has since returned to the bench, so it doesn't appear to be a serious issue. That said, it remains to be seen if he'll be inserted back into the game and if that's the case, Williams could end up having further tests performed on the toe following Monday's contest.

Hornets' Marvin Williams: Breaks out of funk against Detroit

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/6/17) Wililams contributed 19 points (6-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and a block in 29 minutes during Thursday's 115-114 loss to the Pistons.

After shooting a combined 10-30 during a three-game cold spell, Williams bounced back by mixing up his scoring from all over the floor. However, while the 11th year vet is averaging a healthy 10.5 points per game he's shooting just 39.3 percent this season, and should have value in only the deepest of leagues.

Hornets' Marvin Williams: Contributes 13 points in Thursday win

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/30/16) Williams contributed 13 points (6-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt), two assists, a rebound and a steal over 25 minutes in Thursday's 91-82 win over the Heat.

The veteran forward bounced back from three straight double-digit scoring efforts and shot at least 50 percent for the fourth time in the last seven contests. Williams also has at least one three-pointer in seven consecutive games, but Thursday's production in the rebound category was Williams' lowest since Nov. 15. Although the backcourt duo of Kemba Walker and Nicolas Batum typically spearhead the Hornets' attack, Williams' ability to score away from the basket keeps him as a viable third wheel in the offense.
