by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer (9/14/14) One week after kicking five field goals in six attempts, Bengals kicker Mike Nugent once again had an opportunity to pile up points Week 2 against Atlanta and couldn't take advantage.
He made his first attempt, a 31-yarder in the first quarter, before proceeding to miss attempts attempts of 38, 49 and 55 yards. His misses were all near misses, and coach Marvin Lewis indicated after the game he wouldn't consider making a change.
"I know he'll be better next time out," Lewis said, according to the team's official website. "That's the one good thing about Mike -- he's such a pro. We (had) a bad day, and we lived through it. Next time, I can go back and count on him, like we did a week ago."
Nugent was a perfect 3 for 3 on extra points.

Mike Nugent big on extra points
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer (12/22/13) Bengals kicker Mike Nugent didn't attempt a field goal Week 16 against the Vikings, but his team scored so many touchdowns that he still finished with six points. He hasn't scored more than six in any of his last four games.

Mike Nugent gets no field goals
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (12/16/13) Bengals kicker Mike Nugent hit a pair of PATs in the Week 15 loss at Pittsburgh. He did not try a field goal.
Nugent was forced to punt after regular punter Kevin Huber suffered a fractured jaw, and Nugent averaged 40 yards on two punts. He'll face Minnesota in Week 16.
We've noticed a decline in two key Mike Nugent statistics: Field goal percentage and field goal attempts. That's a bad combination. He's still making over 80 percent of his kicks, which is nice, but Nugent has seen his attempts dip from 38 to 23 to 22 over the past three seasons. While the Bengals offense should still be productive, it's concerning to see Nugent not deliver via a slew of field goal chances. We'd be nervous to take him with a late-round pick.
