09/01/2012 12:53 Miami Dolphins: Final 53-man roster
The Miami Dolphins cut their roster to 53 players on Friday. However, it is doubtful these are the exact same players who will start Sept. 9 against Houston in Week 1.
08/21/2012 22:49 Dolphins Projected Roster: Getting to 53
The Miami Dolphins may have settled on rookie Ryan Tannehill as the starting quarterback for Week 1 against Houston, but there are plenty of roster spots up for grabs in Miami.
Steve Slaton will look for a job this offseason after not playing at all in 2012. His last carry was with the Dolphins in 2011, and Slaton is a long way removed from his standout rookie season in 2008 when he had more than 1,600 total yards and 10 touchdowns. Keep an eye on Slaton to see if he signs somewhere as a reserve, but he's not expected to produce much barring an injury. He should not be drafted in the majority of leagues. (Updated 4/26/13)
