Britt leaves positive impression

News: Teammates came away impressed with Titans receiver Kenny Britt on the first day of their April minicamp. So far this offseason Britt hasn't had any run-ins with the law or any surgeries, a welcome change from his past offseasons. "He came back and looked great during workouts," quarterback Jake Locker said per The Tennessean. "It sounds like he really got on his rehab and got his knee feeling a lot better and I'm really excited about how he came back."
Analysis: This could be the start of some good news rolling in on Britt, who has a very big season ahead of him. If he plays to the expectations everyone has for him he'll get rewarded with a fat contract next spring. If he struggles and/or gets hurt and misses a lot of time he'll miss out on a pay day and might have to play elsewhere for a nominal salary. The receiver is super-talented but questions about his mental make-up and the health of his knees make him a big risk on Draft Day. Think about Britt as nothing more than a mid-round choice as a borderline No. 3 Fantasy receiver.

GM won't commit to Britt

News: Appearing on PFT Live, Titans general manager Ruston Webster wouldn't commit to a long-term plan with receiver Kenny Britt. The troubled receiver avoided a 2012 charge when he was found not guilty of DUI earlier this week but has had his fair share of run-ins with the law. Webster made it clear Britt should be focused just on this upcoming season. "The goal is for him to play well for us this year," said Webster. "He is a year off the ACL, and he has been rehabbing, and working hard and the hope is he’ll be back to the old Kenny Britt. We’ll see where it goes from here. It has been a tough run for Kenny with off-field things, as well as injuries, but hopefully we’ll have one smooth year with him."
Analysis: Webster has stated previously he wants more from Britt in 2013. It's absolutely a make-or-break year for him as he'll test free agency following the season. If he shines, he'll be in line for a nice pay day. If he falters, he'll struggle to find work. The receiver is super-talented but questions about his mental make-up and the health of his knees make him a big risk on Draft Day. Think about Britt as nothing more than a mid-round choice as a borderline No. 3 Fantasy receiver.

Britt found not guilty of DUI

News: A federal magistrate has found that Titans receiver Kenny Britt is not guilty of driving under the influence after trying to pass through a security gate at Fort Campbell Army post on the Tennessee-Kentucky state line. After a five-hour trial on the post Tuesday, U.S. magistrate Lanny King also found Britt was not guilty of violating the implied consent law for refusing to take a Breathalyzer test. Britt was in the courtroom but was not called to testify. He was arrested on July 20 when he tried to enter the post through a gate on the Kentucky side of the installation. Military police administered a field sobriety test, then handcuffed Britt and took him to the Fort Campbell police station where he refused to take a Breathalyzer test.
Analysis: We hope this is the last time we have to update Britt and any legal woes. He heads into this season with the potential for a bounce-back year, and the Titans are counting on Britt to succeed. Consider Britt a No. 3 Fantasy receiver with upside. If he can play 16 games at 100 percent and avoid any off-field trouble then he'll be a great find for Fantasy owners with a mid-round pick.

Titans want Britt to be careful

News: Speaking at the NFL combine on Thursday, Titans general manager Ruston Webster expressed concern for receiver Kenny Britt, who earlier this offseason was involved in a police investigation (he allegedly was a witness to a crime but hasn't cooperated with police). The Tennessean notes Britt has had nine run-ins with the law since the Titans drafted him. "I do think a lot of it was wrong place, wrong time," Webster said. "But I also think he needs to be careful of where he is, and when he is there."
Analysis: Webster has stated previously he wants more from Britt in 2013. It's absolutely a make-or-break year for him as he'll test free agency following the season. If he shines, he'll be in line for a nice pay day. If he falters, he'll struggle to find work. Plenty still admire Britt's game

News: The Tennessean reports that several NFL players around the league believe Titans receiver Kenny Britt can still play at a high level if he gets his off-field problems straightened out. Said former Titan Randy Moss: "From what I have seen Kenny Britt do, man, if he gets his mind right, Kenny Britt can get up in elite class very quickly. I am a big fan of his. Kenny Britt is a young receiver who can get in that A.J. Green, Julio Jones mix if he wants to, and does the things to make it happen. But his is more mental than it is physical. I hope it works out for him because he is quite a talent. That guy could be special.” Ravens running back Ray Rice, who was Britt’s teammate at Rutgers, said "He is a talent like no other. If he ever puts it all together — and that’s not football — if he ever gets the right people around him to guide him, to support him, then he can be one of the Top 5 receivers in this league, hands down."
Analysis: A first-round pick in 2009, Britt is headed into the final year of his contract with the Titans. He’s scheduled to make $1.34 million in 2013. Continue to monitor what happens with Britt, and hopefully he will be ready for Week 1. When healthy and active, Britt should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy receiver with upside. He is worth drafting with a mid-round pick.

NJ police to question Britt again

News: Last month, Titans receiver Kenny Britt -- who has had his fair share of legal problems - attended a party where a stabbing had taken place and then took one of his friends to the hospital before departing and declining to talk to New Jersey police about the incident. Eventually, Britt met with authorities for questioning, but there didn't appear to be any indication that Britt was in trouble. Now, the Tennessean is reporting that Jersey City police have arrested one of Britt's close friends, and officers want to talk to Britt again. On Tuesday, police arrested 28-year-old Domingo Severino and charged him with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Police have contacted Britt's attorney, Robert Lane, to set up a meeting so Britt can “provide additional information pertaining to the case.” Lane had previously told reporters that there was “zero chance” Britt would be arrested.
Analysis: Titans general manager Ruston Webster just told the website TitansInsider that Britt needed to be more responsible and show up on the field in 2013, so being back in this position is not good. Continue to monitor what happens with Britt, and hopefully he will be ready for Week 1. When healthy and active, Britt should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy receiver with upside. He is worth drafting with a mid-round pick.

GM: Britt on the spot in 2013

News: According to the website TitansInsider, Tennessee Titans general manager Ruston Webster expects more from wide receiver Kenny Britt in 2013. The report says Britt has shown flashes of big-play ability during his time with the Titans, but that has been overshadowed by injuries and off-the-field run-ins. As Britt enters the final year of his contract, Webster made it clear that he and the entire organization are on the spot to produce much more than they did this season in a 6-10 campaign. “We expect all our guys to take care of themselves off the field and do the right things in those situations, plus on the field get themselves ready to play,” Webster said. “Kenny had a tough year just bouncing back from injuries but I think he is on the spot to produce this year. Plus, I think with our record, us being 6-10, everybody is kind of on the spot, so he would be in with the crowd on that one. But we do expect our guys to handle ourselves quite well off the field and stay out of those situations.”
Analysis: Britt, though he caught a career-high 45 passes, had only 589 yards receiving and caught four touchdown passes in 2012. It was his first year back from a torn ACL in his right knee in 2011, and he also had additional procedures on both knees last off-season. Britt has also had nine run-ins with the law and was questioned by police in January after he took a stabbed friend to the hospital. Britt apparently had no further involvement than that, but did delay talking to police for approximately 48 hours after the incident took place. Keep an eye on Britt this offseason because he's a prime bounce-back candidate. We like Britt as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver with upside, and he's worth drafting with a mid-round pick.

Britt not considered a suspect

News: Tennessee wide receiver Kenny Britt is apparently not a suspect in the stabbing/shooting incident that had seen police interested in speaking with him. Britt eventually was questioned by police and the Tennessean reports New Jersey police assured him there is "no chance" he'll be arrested.
Analysis: Jersey City Police Captain Edgar Martinez said that Britt was originally uncooperative and had not made himself available to questioning regarding the incident. That was denied by Britt and his father and the wide receiver eventually was questioned by police. It sounds like Britt will be able to put this latest incident in his past, though you never know what kind of twist could creep up. Britt has been embroiled in numerous legal incidents, and this is just another added to the list. The receiver is super-talented but questions about his mental make-up and the health of his knees make him a big risk on Draft Day. Think about Britt as nothing more than a mid-round pick as a No. 3 Fantasy option.

Britt's father defends his son

News: Jack Britt, the father of Titans receiver Kenny Britt, told the Tennessean on Tuesday that his son has nothing to hide regarding a pair of incidents early Sunday morning and that reports that he has been uncooperative with police are "nonsense." “Kenny is not running from anyone. He has nothing to hide,” Jack Britt said. “He is fully cooperating and the police are saying a lot of things that just aren't true. They don't have all the facts. Kenny is going to clear this thing up.” Police interest in Britt stems from two incidents early Sunday morning in New Jersey in which a man was stabbed and a gunshot was fired. As of Monday, Britt hadn't spoken with police. His father said that Britt would meet with police soon, while Jersey City Police Captain Edgar Martinez said that Britt had been uncooperative and hadn't made himself available. Martinez confirmed that he and Britt were set to meet Wednesday. “Until he comes in, nothing has changed,” Martinez said, according to the Tennessean. “Kenny Britt is a grown man. He needs to get here.”
Analysis: Britt has been embroiled in numerous legal incidents, and this is just another added to the list. However, his father maintains this is simply a wrong-place, wrong-time scenario. This past season he was suspended one game for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. The receiver is super-talented but questions about his mental make-up and the health of his knees make him a big risk on Draft Day. Think about Britt as nothing more than a mid-round pick as a No. 3 Fantasy option.

NFL looking into Britt incident

News: Kenny Britt was reportedly involved in an incident in New Jersey that left one man stabbed and another man's house the scene of a shooting, and the NFL is looking into it according to The Tennessean. Allegedly, Britt initially refused to cooperate with authorities on the case before releasing a statement saying he would cooperate. Authorities said late Monday Britt still had yet to help them out after dropping off the stabbing victim at a local hospital following a gunshot was fired at a residence Britt was visiting. According to a Jersey Journal report, Britt was not at the house when the gun was fired and is not a suspect.
Analysis: Since he entered the league in 2009, Britt has been involved with no fewer than eight legal entanglements and has complained about his team's disciplinary measures over social media. This past season he was suspended one game for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. The receiver is super-talented but questions about his mental make-up and the health of his knees make him a big risk on Draft Day. Think about Britt as nothing more than a mid-round pick.

Britt wants to put 2012 behind him

News: The Tennessean reports that Titans receiver Kenny Britt recently completed what he called the worst season of his career in 2012. Britt finished with a career high in receptions — in 14 games he had 45 catches for 589 yards and four touchdowns — but his 13.1-yard average was the lowest of his career after averaging 16.7, 18.5 and 17.0 yards in his first three NFL seasons. The report says Britt lacked the explosiveness he needed early in the season after missing all of training camp. He didn’t feel like himself until the end of the year, he said. Britt tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee in a game on Sept. 25, 2011. He had season-ending surgery and later had follow-up surgery. Before this season, he had surgery on his left knee to repair a meniscus tear. “I will definitely be over the hump of worrying about my knee and wondering how I am going to run my routes,” he said. “This year, I was inconsistent catching the ball, and I wasn’t that guy on third down. Hopefully I can get better.”
Analysis: Titans receivers coach Dave Ragone said a lot will be up to Britt. “Obviously his work ethic, the way he goes about things, that’s all part of it,” Ragone said. “This offseason will be very big for him — how he’s going to go about it. Hopefully he’s able to go through a full offseason. I think that’s sometimes taken for granted for guys — getting timing with the quarterbacks, getting adjusted to the routes being asked to run and getting the confidence that you’re going against NFL defenders and beating them.” Coach Mike Munchak said he doesn’t think Britt will need additional surgery, however. Britt “is still adjusting to life after the ACL and his other knee,” is how Munchak sees it. We hope Britt can avoid another surgery, and we hope he can return at 100 percent in 2013. He will likely be considered a low-end No. 2/high-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver with upside next year.

Britt caps disappointing year

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt finished with two catches for 21 yards Week 17 vs. Jacksonville. He was targeted five times. Britt left the game briefly in the third quarter after sustaining an apparent arm injury, but he returned to the game in the fourth quarter. He finished the season with 45 catches for 589 yards and four touchdowns.
Analysis: Britt came into the season as an injury-risk sleeper, but he never hit his breakout stride. Britt surpassed 100 yards just once and managed at least 10 Fantasy points just four times. Britt, who tore his ACL early last season, wasn't 100 percent all year and that proved to be problematic. Perhaps an offseason of rest not recovering from surgery will help Britt moving forward, but he will still likely be an injury-risk sleeper heading into 2013. We know what Britt is capable of doing at 100 percent, but consider him more of a late-round Fantasy pick next summer. His value will only increase if he appears to be 100 percent.

Britt plays in finale

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt (knee) was cleared to play Week 17 vs. Jacksonville after being listed as probable on the injury report.
Analysis: Britt hasn't been 100 percent all season as he worked his way back from a major knee injury suffered in 2011. While he didn't have outstanding numbers down the stretch, he did his best for a strong finish. He comes into Week 17 with a touchdown in three of his last five games. He has also has at least 10 Fantasy points in three of his last four games. The Jaguars are yielding 20.7 Fantasy points per week to wide receivers, but Britt is more of a low-end Fantasy start Week 17.

Britt aims to stay healthy

News: Tennessee wide receiver Kenny Britt was listed as probable on the team's injury report for Week 17 against Jacksonville due to a lingering knee issue. Britt was a limited participant in practice Friday after maintaining a full status the previous two days. He has been frustrated with his injury lately and told reporters that he plans to see "every doctor known to man" following the season to discover why his knees continue to swell. On Sunday, he will face a Jaguars defense that ranks 24th against the pass (246 yards allowed per game through the air).
Analysis: Britt is coming back from a torn ACL he suffered last season and has been on the injury report with knee issues all season. He has caught 43 passes for 568 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games played this season, which could explain why his numbers have been a bit down from his first two seasons in the league. Opposing wide receivers have scored an average of 20.7 Fantasy points per game against Jacksonville this season. Fantasy owners should view him as a low-end option in deeper formats for Week 17.

Britt still frustrated with knees

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt (knee) was able to practice in full Thursday as the team prepares for Sunday's season finale at home against Jacksonville. Britt has been frustrated with his injury as of late and told the Tennesseean that he will plan to see "every doctor known to man" following the season to discover why his knees continue to swell. "The first two weeks (after the season) I am just going to rest,” Britt said. “I just got an MRI and they told me there was nothing wrong with my knee. But I am going to check with a couple of doctors across the United States to see what is going on.”

He has caught 43 passes for 568 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games played this season, which could explain why his numbers have been a bit down from his first two seasons in the league. Britt gets a touchdown late

News: On a day when quarterback Jake Locker and the entire Titans offense couldn't get anything going, wide receiver Kenny Britt was practically invisible until the team's final drive, when he had both of his receptions -- on back-to-back plays, no less -- for 41 yards. The second one, a 2-yarder, resulted in a touchdown. It was his fourth score of the season and his first in three games.
Analysis: Britt had six targets on the day, including one that resulted in an interception, but only when the Titans were down by 55 and had absolutely nothing to lose were they willing to chuck it up for him and hope for the best. Britt's touchdown may have been from 2 yards out, but his 39-yard catch is what set it up. Locker has had a tough time finding his form since returning from a shoulder injury in Week 10. Though Locker's Week 16 performance may have ultimately worked in Britt's favor, you can't expect Britt to make a significant Fantasy impact without adequate play from his quarterback. He's a player to avoid in Week 17 against the Jaguars.

Britt fine to play in Week 16

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, who was a full participant in practice leading up to the game, is active for Week 16 at Green Bay. He was listed as probable on Friday's injury report because of a knee issue.
Analysis: Britt had surgery to repair a torn ACL last season and has been a constant on the injury report because of it. He has been inconsistent this season, but considering the Titans will probably have to throw this week, he's a possibility for your flex spot.

Britt expected to play Week 16

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was a full participant in practice for the second consecutive day Friday despite nursing a nagging knee injury. He is listed as probable for Sunday's game and is expected to play. Britt, who followed up a season-best 143-yard performance in Week 14 with a one-catch, 7-yard effort last week, will look to get back on track Week 16 at Green Bay. But his performance will likely depend on whether or not quarterback Jake Locker is able to overcome the obstacles presented by both a Packers defense that ranks sixth in sacks and a projected high of only 28 degrees.
Analysis: Britt is coming back from a torn ACL suffered last season and has been on the injury report with knee issues all season long. In fact, he told reporters the previous week that he is still not back at 100 percent and will need some time to recover. That said, he has still been relatively healthy this season, missing only one game because of injury, though his production has been lacking. That 143-yard effort in Week 14 is the only time he's topped 70 yards all season. Shaky quarterback play hasn't helped, and the conditions for Sunday's game don't hint of a turnaround for Locker. Consider Britt no better than a low-end flex option for Week 16.

Kenny Britt

Britt a non-factor vs. Jets

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was a non-factor in Week 15 against the Jets. Britt hauled in just one pass for 7 yards in the 14-10 win, which came in the third quarter. While Jake Locker did try and find him a few deep routes, the pair were unable connect for most of the game. Britt was targeted three times in the victory and took a backseat to Nate Washington, who led the team with four receptions for 62 yards.
Analysis: The Titans tried to get Britt the ball on a few deep plays but Locker was unable to find him, which is nothing new for Fantasy owners. There were some high expectations for Britt this week after he hauled in a season-high 143 yards on eight catches in Tennessee's loss to the Colts last week, but he instead turned in a stinker. The 24-year-old has struggled to produce with any consistency this season and having Locker as his QB doesn't seem to be helping matters much. Fantasy owners should consider Britt more of a low-end or flex option against the Packers in Week 16.

News: Tennessee wideout Kenny Britt is active and starting in the Week 15 Monday night game against the Jets. In fact, Britt is coming off one of his best games as he recorded a season-high 143 yards in last week's loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Britt is healthy and has a solid matchup ahead of him Week 15. New York gives up plenty of yardage through the air and has allowed 17 passing touchdowns this season. Britt has hauled in 13 receptions for 208 yards and two scores over his last three games and should see plenty of looks Monday night. He can be starting in deeper Fantasy formats as a solid flex option.

Britt ready for MNF

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt has been labeled probable for the Week 15 Monday night game at home against the Jets Saturday. Britt continues to deal with a knee issue but should be fine against the Jets. Britt hauled in a season-high 143 yards on eight catches in Tennessee's loss to the Colts last week. He will now be facing a Jets defense that is allowing an average of 196 passing yards per contest. New York has surrendered 17 touchdowns through the air while yielding an average of 16.8 Fantasy points to opposing WRs, which ranks 4th overall.
Analysis: Britt is finally starting to produce the way Fantasy owners have been expecting him too as he has now hauled in 13 receptions for 208 yards and two scores over his last three games. He appears to finally be getting over the knee issues that have plagued him for much of the season and will look to keep things rolling against the Jets this week. However, that could be easier said then done as New York has been very good at defending the pass this season. Britt not at '100 percent'

News: Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was a full participant in practice for the second day in a row Friday as the team prepares for Week 15 at home against the Jets. Britt, who is dealing with a lingering knee issue, is expected to suit up Monday night. Britt went for a season-high 143 yards in the game on eight catches in Week 14 against the Colts. He'll face a stingy New York defense that has not allowed a touchdown to a wide receiver in the last two weeks. “I’m not totally 100 percent,” Britt said. “My left knee still swells up on me sometimes and my ACL knee still bothers me a little bit. So I’m not going to feel 100 percent at all through this whole season, but I’m back close to where I was last year."
Analysis: “It’s very hard to accept, especially going out there in practice and coming back in and watching some of my routes out there," Britt said. "That looks sloppy. It doesn’t even look like a pro receiver.” The fact that he is practicing is encouraging, but Britt does not sound like he'll recover from his knee injury before the season ends. Still, he was able to play through pain and have a monster game last week. Opposing wide receivers have scored an average of 16.8 Fantasy points per game against the Jets this season, which is the fourth fewest allowed in the league. Consider him as a viable option in deeper formats heading into Week 15.

Britt has season-best 143

News: Tennessee wide receiver Kenny Britt had a monster performance in the Week 14 loss at Indianapolis Sunday. Britt went for a season-high 143 yards in the game on eight catches from quarterback Jake Locker. Britt did not catch a touchdown pass in the game and was targeted nine times.
Analysis: Britt had been limited to just five catches in his previous two games before breaking out against the Colts. That said, Britt caught a touchdown pass in each of those previous two contests and combined with his Week 14 that makes for a pretty nice stretch of Fantasy football. Britt was clearly the top weapon for Locker in the passing game on Sunday as the quarterback targeted him early and often. Heading into Week 15 against the Jets, Britt can be active in plenty of Fantasy formats.
