Burleson able to practice by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/22/2013) The Detroit News reports Lions receiver Nate Burleson was able to practice during OTAs this week, which was a surprise. "I wasn't supposed to; I was told not to (practice)," said Burleson, who wasn't supposed to be back from leg surgery until July. "But it's like I always told you guys, if I can walk I can run, and if I can run I can play." Burleson took part in all the drills, including 7-on-7s. "It's as healed up as it's going to get," he said. "The good thing about being out there is I am playing at a high level and I am not 100 percent. When it gets stronger and I get endurance back in it, I will be back to playing with extreme confidence."

Burleson ahead of schedule by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/22/2013) NFL.com reports that Lions receiver Nate Burleson is ahead of schedule as he heals from a season-ending broken leg injury suffered in 2012. "The great news is I'm healed up," Burleson said. "I just got news from my doctors that the bone is good. I'm running and jumping three months ahead of schedule." Burleson is slated to be the No. 2 receiver in Detroit this year opposite Calvin Johnson, but he welcomes any competition the Lions might add. "The way I look at it you are going to war every time you line up on Sunday, the more ammunition you have the better it is for you to go out there and battle," Burleson said. "We do have needs at just about every position, but I've always been a firm believer when it comes to draft picks you get the best guy."
