GM: Titans keeping Washington
News: After it was reported in March that the Titans could try and deal Nate Washington, general manager Ruston Webster said Tuesday he expects the receiver to stay with the team for 2013.
Analysis: Washington is due to make $4.2 million this year and $4.8 million in 2014, and for the production he's given other than his 2011 campaign where he was pressed into the No. 1 role, the money doesn't match. He's basically going to be a consideration off waivers as a one-week replacement for Fantasy owners since he's unlikely to earn a top-shelf role at this stage in his career.

Titans shopping Washington?
News: NFL.com reports the Titans are shopping receiver Nate Washington. The veteran is due to make $4.2 million this year and $4.8 million in 2014.
Analysis: Aside from a 2011 campaign where he assumed the role of No. 1 receiver while Kenny Britt missed 13 games, Washington has consistently been a mediocre receiver with about 45 catches per season and a handful of touchdowns. He's basically going to be a consideration off waivers as a one-week replacement for Fantasy owners wherever he winds up since he's unlikely to earn a top-shelf role at this stage in his career.

Washington has one-catch game
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington managed one catch for 21 yards Week 17 vs. Jacksonville. He was targeted twice. Washington finished the season with 46 catches for 746 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games.
Analysis: Washington really struggled down the stretch. He didn't record a touchdown in his last seven games and managed more than three catches just twice in his last eight games. Most of those contests were started by Jake Locker, which could be an ominous sign for Washington moving forward. Washington could become a third option in the passing game next season behind Kenny Britt and Kendall Wright, who will be entering his second season in the NFL. Washington could still be a candidate for 40-plus catches and 700-plus yards, but he will be at best a late-round Fantasy pick in deep formats.

Washington not much help
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington actually tied for the team lead with six targets Week 16 at Green Bay, but he couldn't do much with them, finishing with two catches for 15 yards. Quarterback Jake Locker completed only 13 passes for 140 yards on the day.
Analysis: Washington has had less than 20 receiving yards in three of the six games since Locker returned from a shoulder injury. Clearly, the poor play of his quarterback is holding him back, but since that doesn't figure to change for Week 17 against the Jaguars, Washington is a player to avoid in Fantasy.

Washington unlikely to heat up
News: With four catches for 62 yards, wide receiver Nate Washington actually led the Titans in receiving yards in a poor performance for quarterback Jake Locker Week 15 against the Jets. Washington may lead the way for the Titans' receiving corps again Week 16 at Green Bay, but unfortunately, Locker's performance doesn't figure to improve all that much. He has had trouble staying upright in recent weeks, and the Packers rank sixth in the league in sacks. Plus, the forecast calls for a high in the upper 20s after blizzard-like conditions in Green Bay earlier in the week.
Analysis: Statistically, the Packers haven't been all that great against the pass this season. They rank 16th, allowing 226.0 yards per game. Still, given the frigid conditions and Locker's struggles of late, Washington will have a hard time making a significant Fantasy contribution in this one. Consider him little more than a last resort at wide receiver.

Washington nets 62 yards
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was fairly productive in Week 15 against the Jets. Washington hauled in four passes for 62 yards in the 14-10 win but was unable to get into the end zone. He racked up 45 of his yards on Tennessee's opening drive of the game, including a 30-yarder over the middle, which was Jake Locker's longest completion of the game.
Analysis: Washington was just OK Monday night as his performance was nothing to write home about. However, it was a vast improvement over the one catch for 15-yard performance he turned in the week before, so Fantasy owners will take it. Still, Washington has been inconsistently consistent this season as he has never really been able to put together any long stretches of productivity. The 29-year-old has only topped 100 receiving yards once this season and has found the end zone one time over his last six games. Fantasy owners should consider Washington merely a flex option in deeper formats heading into Week 16 against the Packers.

Washington looking to bounce back
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington will be looking to turn in a bounce-back performance in Week 15 against the Jets. Washington hauled in just one reception for 15 yards in Tennessee's loss to the Colts last week. He will now be facing a Jets defense that is allowing an average of 196 passing yards per contest. New York has surrendered 17 touchdowns through the air while yielding an average of 16.8 Fantasy points to opposing WRs, which ranks 4th overall.
Analysis: Washington has been a model of inconsistency this season as he continues to alternate between productive and unproductive performances. The 29-year-old has only topped 100 yards once this season and has only found the end zone once over the last six games. He will now will face a Jets defense that has actually been decent against the pass this season. With the playoffs now here in most leagues, owners should consider Washington merely a low-end or flex option in deeper formats heading into Week 15.

Washington with poor ratio
News: Tennessee wide receiver Nate Washington was targeted seven times in the Week 14 loss at Indianapolis on Sunday. Unfortunately, Washington only came down with one reception in the game from quarterback Jake Locker. That catch went for 15 yards.
Analysis: Washington hasn't scored since Week 9 against Chicago and has only had a few solid Fantasy performances all season. Otherwise, he's been an inconsistent and underwhelming option in the passing game for Locker. Fantasy owners cannot count upon consistent production from Washington for Week 15 against the Jets. Consider him a low-end flex option, at best, for the game.

Washington ready to step up in Week 14
News: Titans receiver Nate Washington will be looking to keep his recent success heading into Week 14 on the road against the Colts. Washington is coming off one of his best games of the season, as he caught three passes for 96 yards in Week 13 against the Texans. He'll face an Indianapolis defense that has allowed 15 touchdowns this season to opposing wide receivers, including three of the last four games. Washington racked up 69 yards on five catches in an overtime affair against the Colts in Week 8.
Analysis: Washington has never topped 100 yards receiving in eight career meetings against the Colts, but has hauled in two touchdown catches in his last three games. He has been able to stretch the field out for Jake Locker this season and has averaged 16.7 yards per catch, only about a yard shy from his career mark set in 2006 with Pittsburgh. Opposing wide receivers have scored an average of 24.3 Fantasy points per game this season. Fantasy owners should view him as a decent flex option in deeper formats heading into Week 14.

Washington bright spot in ugly game
News: Nate Washington caught three passes for 96 yards in Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Texans in Week 13. He was targeted six times.
Analysis: Washington had a nice 49-yard reception in the fourth quarter, and it was a huge surprise that he held on, as the Titans receivers dropped seven of Jake Locker's passes in the game. The 96 yards were the most Washington has managed in a game since Week 3. It's clear that he is a better Fantasy player with Locker as his quarterback, so he at least has that going for him as the team looks ahead to Week 14 against the Colts. But proceed with some caution, as Washington is still fairly erratic, no matter who the QB is. A mid-to-low tier receiver, he only has value in deeper Fantasy leagues right now.

Washington's up-and-down year continues
News: Titans receiver Nate Washington has scored double-digit Fantasy points in just three games this year. He's scored five points or fewer five times, including Week 12 against the Jaguars, despite being targeted nine times by Jake Locker. Washington has talent, and was developing a rapport with Locker at the start of the season before both were injured, but has failed to put together any kind of consistent run so far this year.
Analysis: Washington has a couple things going for him in Week 13. First, Locker has returned as his quarterback, and if the two can re-connect like they did earlier this season, Washington could see a little upturn in production. Second, Tennessee's opponent in Week 13 is Houston. The Texans have allowed opposing wide receivers to score 86 total points over their last two games, including a 283-yard game from Justin Blackmon and a 126-yard game from Ryan Broyles; Washington seems to fit nicely alongside the two of them in terms of potential. Even with a possibly favorable matchup against Houston, though, Washington is a tough recommendation to make based on his fluctuating production on a weekly basis. He is a flex play in deeper leagues, and can be left to the bench in most standard formats.

Washington leads with 54 yards
News: Tennessee wide receiver Nate Washington finished the Week 12 loss at Jacksonville Sunday leading the team in receiving. Quiet for most of the game, Washington came on for a few late catches and finished with four grabs for a team-high 54 yards. He was targeted a team-high nine times by quarterback Jake Locker. Washington went for a long of 21 yards and did not score in the game.
Analysis: Washington just barely was able to reach the 300th reception of his career in the Week 12 game as the Titans' offense struggled mightily, especially in the passing game. Locker couldn't get anything going through the air and Washington was limited in that regard. He did manage to extend his streak of 73 consecutive games with a reception, however. Washington has been pretty solid all year in Fantasy and can remain active in plenty of formats for Week 13 against Houston's poor pass defense.

Washington with nice matchup
News: Tennessee wide receiver Nate Washington heads into Week 12 at Jacksonville Sunday ready to face a poor passing defense. The Jaguars are allowing the eighth-most Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers on the year and just gave up 14 catches for 273 yards and a touchdown to Andre Johnson of the Texans last week.
Analysis: Washington is definitely no Andre Johnson and he's not even the best receiving option on his own team for quarterback Jake Locker. That honor goes to Kenny Britt. Still, Washington has 298 career catches and is looking to reach 300 Sunday against the Jaguars. He caught four passes for 71 yards in his last game against Jacksonville and does have four touchdowns this season for the Titans. Still, Washington is just a low-end start for the Week 12 game.

Washington limited in win
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was silent in Week 10 against the Dolphins, as the Titans did not need their passing game much for a 37-3 win. Washington was targeted twice in the game, finishing with one catch for 5 yards.
Analysis: The Dolphins entered the game struggling badly against wide receivers, but the Titans ended up jumping out to an early lead and needing very little from the passing game. With Jake Locker returning from a shoulder injury, that was exactly how they hoped the game would go. Tennessee is on a bye in Week 11, before returning against the Jaguars in Week 12. They should open the passing game up more after the bye, but Washington remains more of a low-end Fantasy starter in many formats.

Washington over illness
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was able to suit up and play Sunday against the Dolphins in Week 10, after being forced to leave Fridays practice with an illness. He is expected to start.
Analysis: Washington has been the teams most productive receiver, and he could be in line for a big day against a vulnerable Dolphins secondary. Opposing wide receivers are averaging 15.6 catches, 202.5 yards and 26.5 Fantasy points per game against Miami, so consider Washington a solid flex option for Week 10.

Washington tackled by illness
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was unable to complete practice Friday because of an illness and added to the injury report as probable for Week 10 at Miami. Washington is expected to suit up against the Dolphins as he looks to reach the end zone for the third time in his past four games. Miami enters the contest as one of the leagues worst defenses in stopping opposing wide receivers and surrendered a pair of scores through the air in Week 9 against the Colts. Miami has allowed nine receiving touchdowns to receivers in eight games this year.
Analysis: Washington has served as the Titans' most productive receiver for yards and touchdowns, and he could be in line for a solid day against the Dolphins, as long as he's healthy. Opposing wide receivers are averaging 15.6 catches for 202.5 yards and 26.5 Fantasy points per game against the Dolphins. The biggest obstacle hurting his Fantasy value is the depth of the Titans receiving corps, as they have four players with at least 45 targets so far. Washington has value as an upside play at the flex position in most Fantasy formats for Week 10.

Washington could breakout
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington has scored in two of the teams last three games heading into Week 10 against the Dolphins. That is a good sign for the 29-year-old receiver, as the Dolphins enter the game as one of the leagues worst defenses when it comes to stopping opposing wide receivers. The Dolphins surrendered a pair of scores through the air in Week 9 against the Colts, and have allowed nine receiving touchdowns to receivers in eight games.
Analysis: Washington has been the teams most productive receiver by yards and touchdowns, and he should be in line for a solid day against the Dolphins. Opposing wide receivers are averaging 15.6 catches for 202.5 yards and 26.5 Fantasy points per game against the Dolphins. The biggest thing hurting his potential value is the depth of the Titans options, as they have four players with at least 45 targets so far. Washington has value as an upside play at the flex position in most Fantasy formats in Week 10.

Washington catches two passes
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington caught two passes for 35 yards in Sunday's 51-20 loss to the Bears. He was targeted just twice.
Analysis: Washington was probable coming into the game with a knee injury, so maybe that slowed his production a bit. The 35 receiving yards were the second-lowest of the season for him, although they were good enough for second-most on the team. The Titans receivers, as a whole, are tough to figure out, and Washington could get lost in the mix on a weekly basis. Week 10, however, brings a date with the Dolphins, who have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL. A mid-level option, Washington can be started as a flex in most formats with the favorable option next Sunday.

Washington probable for Week 9
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was a full participant in practice throughout Week 9, and has been ruled probable for Sunday against the Bears despite dealing with a knee injury. The Bears have allowed the 12th-most passing yards per game in the league, there's no guarantee that it will be Washington who steps up in a relatively crowded group of Titans receivers.
Analysis: Washington has struggled a bit at home this season. In four home games, he has averaged 72.8 receiving yards, while in four road games he has averaged 38. Washington has the ability to put up double-digit points, but it's tough to pinpoint when it will happen. A home game against a somewhat lackluster pass defense may be a better situation than others. At this point, it seems as if Washington should be ready to suit up on Sunday, so we'll continue to keep an eye on his status moving forward. Fantasy owners should view him as a viable option in deeper formats heading into Week 9.

Washington tough to pin down
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington has been a bit of an enigma this season. He has three games of double-digit Fantasy scoring and four weeks where he scored five or fewer points. While Week 9's opponent, the Bears, have given up the 12th-most passing yards per game in the NFL, there's no guarantee that it will be Washington who steps up in a relatively crowded group of Titans receivers. Washington practiced in full Wednesday despite dealing with a knee injury. He is expected to play on Sunday against the Bears.
Analysis: Washington's three touchdowns have come in games of eight, three, and eight targets. And if you want to try and tie his production to targets, don't: Washington had eight targets against the Vikings in Week 5 and scored four Fantasy points, and had nine against the Steelers the following week and scored five. Washington does perform better at home than on the road -- in four home games, he averages 72.8 receiving yards; in four road games, he averages 38. But in his last two home games, Washington has averaged 5.5 Fantasy points per game. In his last two road games, he had averaged seven. Washington has the ability to put up double-digit points, but it's tough to pinpoint when it will happen. A home game against a somewhat lackluster pass defense may be a better situation than others. In short, starting Washington in any spot -- WR2 or flex -- requires plenty of finger-crossing and optimism.

Washington pumps up yardage total
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington notched five receptions for 69 yards during Tennessee's 19-13 overtime loss to Indianapolis in Week 8. Washington collected a team-high six targets from quarterback Matt Hasselbeck as he posted his second-highest yardage total of the season. He also has a 112-yard showing to his credit from Week 3 against Detroit. Washington's output Sunday also represented a team high.
Analysis: Since that Week 3 performance, Washington has been unable to surpass 60 receiving yards as the Titans have spread the ball to several different receivers while also providing more chances to running back Chris Johnson. But while he improved his total Sunday, he was unable to reach the end zone for the second straight game and watched rookie Kendall Wright score the team's only touchdown. Fantasy owners should continue to consider Washington a quality option in deeper formats for Week 9 against Chicago.

Washington out for more scores
News: Tennessee wide receiver Nate Washington matched his second-lowest receiving total of the season during a win at Buffalo last Sunday, but salvaged his day with the game-winning touchdown with less than two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. He will be seeking to reach the end zone for the second straight week during Week 8 against Indianapolis, which is yielding only 210.7 passing yards per game this season. Washington has three touchdowns on the year, but has not scored in back-to-back games since Dec. 11-18, 2011.
Analysis: Washington hasn't produced overly impressive yardage totals, but his touchdown output is good enough to pace the Titans. Aside from his 112-yard performance against Detroit in Week 3, the 29-year-old has failed to reach 60 yards in a game and is averaging just 16.3 yards per reception. Still, Washington remains one of the most heavily targeted receivers on Tennessee and should be viewed as a viable option in deeper Fantasy formats for Week 8. The Colts are surrendering an average of 27.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this year.

Washington chops down Bills
News: Tennessee wide receiver Nate Washington was not making plays for big yardage like usual on Sunday against the Bills in Week 7. He averaged just 7.2 yards per catch in the game. He made one huge play for the Titans, however, as the 29-year-old scored from 15 yards out with a minute remaining to give them a 35-34 win. Washington brought in six passes for 43 yards in the game. The touchdown was his first since Week 3 against Detroit.
Analysis: Washington now leads the team in receiving yards with 373 on 23 catches. His three touchdowns are also pacing the club. He is averaging 16.2 yards per catch and has surprisingly been the teams top option in the passing game for much of the season. Washington has a good match up looming in Week 8, when the Titans will take on Indianapolis. The Colts are allowing 26.8 Fantasy points per game on the season. Consider Washington to be a decent flex option in most Fantasy formats for Week 8.

Washington searching for the end zone
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington has been held scoreless over the last three weeks, after scoring two touchdowns in his first three games of the season. He will look to get back to the end zone in Week 7 against the Bills, a team that has surrendered 11 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers in six games. Buffalo has allowed multiple touchdown grabs in three of their six games, and have yet to hold an opposing receiving corps to fewer than 19 Fantasy points.
Analysis: The Titans should have some success throwing the ball against a Bills secondary that has yet to shut anyone down. The only issue for Washington is whether he will be the beneficiary in an increasingly crowded receiving corps. Washington is the big-play receiver for Tennessee, and Buffalo is allowing 14.5 yards per catch on the year, the ninth-worst mark in the league. Washington has been difficult to rely on this season, but he has some value as a bye-week replacement for Fantasy Week 7.

Washington tops 50 yards
News: For the third time in six games, Titans wide receiver Nate Washington topped 50 yards in a game Thursday against the Steelers in Week 6. Washington brought in three passes for 57 yards, though he left plenty on the field, as Matt Hasselbeck targeted him 10 times. The Titans went on to win the game, 26-23.
Analysis: Washington has just 17 catches through the first six games of the season, but he is making them count. The 29-year-old has 331 yards on the season, for an average of 19.5 yards per catch. Still, he has not been dependable this season, and should be considered more of a low-end Flex option in most Fantasy formats for Week 7, despite a solid matchup against a vulnerable Bills defense.

Washington making most of targets
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington has been making the most of his targets this season. While he only has 14 receptions on the season, Washington is averaging 19.6 yards per reception, which ranks third in the league. Nine of his 14 catches on the year have resulted in first downs and he has racked up 123 of his 274 yards on the year after he has caught the ball. However, he looks to have another tough matchup on tap in Week 6 as the Steelers enter the contest ranked third in pass defense, allowing an average of 187 passing yards per game. In three career games against Pittsburgh, Washington has hauled in 10 receptions for 111 yards and a score.
Analysis: Washington has been a bit of a disappointment this season but then again mostly everyone on Tennessee's offense has been a bust. The 29-year-old has only hauled in more than three receptions in one of his five games and he has been held out of the end zone in each of his last two contests. However, with Kenny Britt still limited with an ankle injury, Washington leads the team in receiving yards (274), receptions of 20 yards or more yards (5) and is tied with Jared Cook for the club lead in TD receptions (2). Still, Fantasy owners would like to see a bit more consistency from Washington moving forward, albeit this might not be the week for that. The Steelers boast one of the top pass defenses in the league and are yielding an average of 18.5 Fantasy points to opposing WRs on the year. The Titans are a mess on the offense right now as well, so consider Washington more of a low-end option in most formats heading into Week 6.

Washington a non-factor in Week 5
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was not much of a factor in Week 5 against the Vikings. Washington finished with just three receptions for 29 yards in the 30-7 defeat with a long of 12 yards. He averaged 9.7 yards per reception and was targeted seven times in the loss. Kendall Wright led the Titans with nine receptions for 66 yards.
Analysis: Washington turned in another underwhelming performance Sunday, which unfortunately has been the case for much of the season. The 29-year-old has failed to record more than three catches in all but one of his games thus far and he has not scored a TD since back in Week 3. The Titans are a bit of a mess on offense right now and Washington is just one of the few players who has seen his value take a hit because of it. Until he starts consistently putting up stats, Fantasy owners should consider Washington merely a low-end option heading into Week 6 against the Steelers. Pittsburgh is yielding an average of 190 yards through the air thus far.

Washington looking to get back in end zone
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington will be looking to get back into the end zone in Week 5 against the Vikings. Washington was held out of the end zone for the second time this season in Tennessee's loss to the Texans last week and finished with just three receptions for 43 yards. Minnesota enters the contest ranked 15th in pass defense after allowing an average of 228 passing yards over the first four games of the year. The Vikings have surrendered five touchdowns through the air while yielding an average of 18.5 Fantasy points to opposing WRs.
Analysis: Washington has not really been able to get into any type of rhythm this season as he has failed to record more than three catches in game thus far. While he does have a pair of touchdowns and one 100-yard game under his belt, Fantasy owners are hoping the the 29-year-old can show a bit more consistency moving forward. That be easier said than done this week as he faces a fairly tough matchup against the Vikings and will likely have backup Mat Hasselbeck under center. Fantasy owners should consider Washington more of a low-end option in most formats heading into Week 5.

Washington hardly a factor
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington had a quiet day Week 4 at Houston. Washington was held to three catches for 43 yards, with his longest gain going 25 yards. He was targeted five times.
Analysis: Washington failed to record more than three catches in a game for the fourth time this season. Even if Titans quarterback Jake Locker didn't get knocked out of the game in the first quarter Sunday, we aren't sure Washington would have had a better game. He has two touchdowns and one 100-yard game this season, but Washington has been very inconsistent. He remains just a low-end option in deep formats heading into Week 5 at Minnesota.

Washington to lift off in Houston?
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington has had an up-and-down history against his Week 4 opponent, Houston. Washington has managed a touchdown catch in three of six career games against Houston. However, he has been held to one catch three times and has totaled more than 36 yards just once in those six games. Still, the last time he visited Houston in Week 17 last season, he totaled four catches for 92 yards and one touchdown. The Texans have been very good against receivers in 2012. Wide receivers are averaging just 134 yards and 14.3 Fantasy points per game, which is third lowest in the NFL. Also, only one receiver -- Eric Decker -- has a 100-yard game and one receiver -- Brandon Stokley -- has a touchdown against Houston.
Analysis: Washington is coming off a 100-yard game in Week 3, but he had only three catches and one of them went for a 71-yard touchdown. Washington does have a touchdown in two of three games this season, but he has a total of seven catches. Without those two scores, then Washington would be somewhat irrelevant. That's what it comes down to when starting Washington. Does he have a good chance to record a touchdown and in Week 4 it's looking iffy, so Fantasy owners should look to receivers with more favorable matchups.

Crazy catch makes Washington's day
News: Even though he finished with just three catches (on three targets) against the Lions, wide receiver Nate Washington led the the Titans with 112 yards through the air in Week 3. As you might expect, most of it came on one play -- and what a play it was. With the game tied at 27 late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Jake Locker threw a pass that looked like it was headed straight into the arms of a defender, but Washington leaped from behind the defender, reached his arms over the defender's head and snatched the ball away from the defender. He then landed, turned around and ran all the way to the end zone for a 71-yard score. It was his second touchdown of the season.
Analysis: That one play salvaged an otherwise sorry day for Washington in Fantasy. His poor production last week you could blame on the leg contusion that limited his time on the field, but this week, with Locker throwing for a career-high 378 yards, you'd think he'd be able to do better than three catches. Locker, though, seemed more focused on Kenny Britt and Jared Cook as receiving targets, and that could continue into the future. Washington will have the occasional big game, but because he's a little further down in the pecking order for Locker, he's more of a bye-week fill-in in Fantasy. You should probably reserve him for Week 4 at Houston.

Washington to see more snaps
News: Titans coach Mike Munchak told reporters Monday that he expects wide receiver Nate Washington to be on the field more when the Lions come to town in Week 3. Washington didnt practice at all last week due to a leg contusion and was on the field for just just 22 of the Titans 42 offensive snaps in Week 2 against the Chargers. He finished with two receptions for 20 yards in the 38-10 defeat. Im assuming Nate is over the hump with his leg, so he should be okay as far practicing on Wednesday, Munchak added.
Analysis: Washington's lack of playing time last Sunday didn't come as a surprise to most as he was expected to be limited after not practicing. However, that should change this week with Washington expected to practice Wednesday, which should ultimately lead to no restrictions for the 29-year-old. Washington is expected to the the team's clear-cut No. 2 WR when healthy so keep an eye on his status leading up to Tennessee's matchup against the Lions. Detroit has been pretty good at defending the pass thus far as the Lions enter the contest allowing an average of 187 passing yards a game while yielding an average of 19 Fantasy points to opposing wideouts. Still, if healthy, Washington can be considered a viable low-end start in most formats.

Washington quiet in Week 2
News: Titans wide receiver was not much of a factor in Week 2 against the Chargers. Washington, who was limited in the contest due to a calf injury, finished with two receptions for 20 yards in the 38-10 win. His first reception led to a Rob Bironas field-goal attempt and he was targeted twice by quarterback Jake Locker.
Analysis: Washington was not much of a factor Sunday, but that was to be expected, especially after he was unable to practice all week. Hopefully, he will be able to heal up a bit in the days leading up Tennessee's Week 3 matchup against the Lions, albeit Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status moving forward just to make sure. The 29-year-old is expected to the the team's clear-cut No. 2 WR when healthy so consider him a viable low-end option in most formats, if he is at 100 percent against Detroit.

Washington ruled active vs. Chargers
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington was ruled active for Week 2 against the Chargers, despite not being able to practice due to a calf injury. Washington sustained the injury during Tennessee's opening week loss to the Patriots and was able to go through his pre-game warmup , albeit the Tennessean reported he is expected to be limited. The Chargers surrendered 276 yards and a touchdown through the air in Week 1.
Analysis: Washington will play Sunday and but could lose some targets with Kenny Britt making his season debut. The 29-year-old hauled in two receptions for 53 yards in a touchdown in Week 1 and was Locker's favorite target before getting hurt. However, since he is expected to be limited, consider Washington merely a low-end option in deeper formats against the Chargers.

Washington a game-time call
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington will be a game-time decision for Week 2 at San Diego after missing his third straight practice Friday with a calf injury. Washington sustained the injury during Tennessee's opening week loss to the Patriots and is listed as questionable for Sunday's contest. The Chargers surrendered 276 yards and a touchdown through the air in Week 1.
Analysis: Washington keeps saying he plans on playing Sunday, but after missing practice all week, he now is looking like a game-time decision. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status when inactives are announced, which will likely be around 3:00PM eastern time Sunday afternoon. Even if Washington is able to suit up, Kenny Britt will also be making his debut against San Diego, which could steal some targets away from him. Consider Washington more of a low-end option in deeper formats if he is active Sunday.

Washington might practice Friday
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington (calf) did not practice Thursday as expected. The Tennessean reports Washington is likely to practice Friday as the team prepares for Week 2 against the Chargers.
Analysis: The Titans have held out all week that they expect Washington to play Sunday, but it's a bit concerning he hasn't practiced yet. If he sits out again Friday, then it's time to sound the alarm. For now, don't hit the panic button. While Kenny Britt is set to make his season debut Sunday, he will be limited to 15-25 snaps. That means Washington still should be quarterback Jake Locker's top target, if available. Washington could still be used as a viable Fantasy start in deep formats Week 2.

Washington should practice Thursday
News: Titans wide receiver Nate Washington (leg) did not practice Wednesday, but he is expected back Thursday, according to The Tennessean. The Titans play the Chargers Week 2.
Analysis: Coach Mike Munchak said Monday Washington is expected to play this week, so he might have just gotten a rest day Wednesday. While Kenny Britt is set to make his season debut Sunday, he will be limited to 15-25 snaps. That means Washington still should be quarterback Jake Locker's top target. Washington could still be used as a viable Fantasy start in deep formats Week 2.

Washington should play Week 2
News: Titans coach Mike Munchak told reporters Monday wide receiver Nate Washington, who suffered a leg bruise Week 1 against the Patriots, is expected to play Week 2 at San Diego.
Analysis: Before getting hurt, Washington caught a 29-yard pass from quarterback Jake Locker, who was hurt on the same play Week 1. Locker is also expected to play Sunday, which is good news for Washington. Wide receiver Kenny Britt is set to return from his one-game suspension, but it might take him a few games to become a factor on offense again. Washington could still be used as a viable Fantasy start in deep formats Week 2.

Washington injures leg
News: Titans receiver Nate Washington left Sunday's game against New England in Week 1 with a leg contusion, according to the team. Washington had two catches for 53 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game.
Analysis: Washington was having a nice game for Fantasy owners before going down. We hope he will be ready for Week 2 at San Diego, but Washington will lose some value heading into that matchup with Kenny Britt (suspended) coming back, especially if Washington is banged up. Keep an eye on the situation because Washington is a quality No. 3 receiver when healthy.

Washington ready for starring role
News: Titans receiver Nate Washington is looking forward to his matchup with the Patriots in Week 1. And quarterback Jake Locker has eyes for Washington, who is the No. 1 target for the Titans with Kenny Britt (suspension) out. In the third preseason game against the Cardinals, Locker targeted Washington six times, and he finished with three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown. Washington also got off to a hot start last year. In three September games, Washington had 21 catches for 258 yards and one touchdown.
Analysis: Washington has all kinds of potential this week with Britt out against the Patriots, who were No. 1 last year in Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Washington should be used as a starter in all leagues, and hopefully he and Locker continue to hook up on a regular basis. Washington could take a hit once Britt returns, but this is a good week to count on him against New England.

Washington connects with Locker
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington was Jake Locker's most targeted receiver during Thursday's preseason game against the Cardinals. Locker found Washington for a deep 28-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Washington was targeted six times, making three catches for 39 yards and a touchdown in a 32-27 victory. He averaged 13 yards per reception on the night.
Analysis: Washington is trying to fight off rookie Kendall Wright for the Titans' No. 2 receiver behind Kenny Britt. He is beginning to get more looks however as Britt is still recovering from knee surgery and is still questionable for the start of the season. Washington's value may go up a bit if Britt can't make it for Week 1. For now, Washington is a low-end receiver, and should be selected with a late-round pick come Draft Day.

Washington still going strong
News: The Tennessean reports Titans receiver Nate Washington is looking to build off his performance in 2011 when he had 74 catches, which was the most by a Titan in seven years. Last season, he played through pain and injuries, taking on double-coverage after Kenny Britt was injured in Week 3, and still put up big numbers. It was almost like people had a certain idea of what Nate could do and what Nate couldnt do, and then he showed a different side of himself last season, Titans offensive coordinator Chris Palmer said. I think he took a step forward. I expect him to keep putting up numbers for us. I dont see him slowing down a bit.
Analysis: Washington should remain the No. 2 receiver for the Titans behind Britt, and he should hold off rookie Kendall Wright as a starter. We consider Washington a No. 4 Fantasy receiver, and he is worth a late-round pick in the majority of leagues.

Washington gets company in Wright
News: Baylor wide receiver Kendall Wright was the first-round pick of the Titans in the 2012 NFL Draft. Wright is expected to be part of Tennessee's receiving corps with Kenny Britt and Nate Washington.
Analysis: Wright should be the No. 3 receiver for the Titans, and he has the chance to make an impact this year. That said, Washington should remain a starter. We still consider Washington a low-end Fantasy receiver, and he should be drafted with a late-round pick.

Washington has knee surgery
News: The Tennessean reports that Titans receiver Nate Washington recently had surgery for a chipped bone in his knee, but he expects to be back for organized workouts.
Analysis: Fantasy owners in all leagues should keep an eye on what happens with Washington, and hopefully he will be ready for the start of training camp. When healthy and active, Washington should be considered a low-end No. 3 Fantasy option in the majority of leagues. He is worth drafting with a late-round pick.

Washington enjoys second half
News: Titans WR Nate Washington overcame a frustrating first half to help his team to a Week 17 win over the Texans. Washington was targeted six times before halftime, but he made just two catches for 14 yards. In the third quarter, though, Washington caught a deep pass from QB Matt Hasselbeck for a 55-yard gain, which ultimately helped to set up a 33-yard field goal by Rod Bironas. Late in the fourth quarter, Washington scored on a 23-yard pass from Hasselbeck, which put the Titans up for good. He finished with four catches for 92 yards.
Analysis: Washington finished the season strong, scoring five touchdowns over the last seven games, and he also exceeded 90 receiving yards three times over that span. While he was far from being a must-start, Washington was relevant for owners in most formats this year, particularly over the latter weeks. At the very least, he will be worth targeting in deeper formats next season.

Washington tries to improve on history
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has been on a productive run, gaining 263 yards with two touchdowns over his last three games combined. He may have trouble keeping up his recent pace, as he will face a foe in Week 17 that his historically kept him in check. Washington will go up against the Texans, who have held him to four catches for 40 yards over their last three games, though he did score a touchdown in their second meeting last season. The Texans enter the regular season's final week as the league's second-ranked passing defense.
Analysis: Though Washington is winding up the season on a high note so far, it may be a stretch to keep him active in most leagues for Week 17. Given his difficult matchup and history of difficulties against Houston, owners should view Washington as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option.

Ankle doesn't slow Washington
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington tallied four receptions for 71 yards during the Titans' 23-17 victory over Jacksonville in Week 16. Washington matched WR Damian Williams for the team lead with 11 targets from QB Matt Hasselbeck and netted an average of 17.8 yards per catch. He was unable to reach the end zone as his touchdown streak was halted at two games. Washington has six total scores for the season.
Analysis: With an 8-yard catch in the fourth quarter, Washington became the first Tennessee wideout to record at least 70 catches in a season since 2004. The achievement should be considered impressive since he has battled through a high ankle sprain over the past four weeks. Since a Week 13 win over Buffalo, Washington has averaged 5.6 receptions per game. Consider him a solid No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 17 at Houston.

Washington set for Week 16
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington is active for Week 16 against Jacksonville after dealing with an ankle injury in practice last week. He was listed as probable on the team's injury report after being a full participant in practice.
Analysis: With four catches this week, Washington will become the first Titans' receiver to record 70 catches in a season since 2004. The Jaguars are permitting an average of 17.2 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this season. Consider Washington a high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 16.

Washington expected to play
News: Washington WR Nate Washington is considered probable for Week 16 against Jacksonville after dealing with an ankle injury in practice. Washington was a full participant in practice over the past week and is expected to play in Saturday's game. Washington, who has an AFC-best 27 receptions on third down this season, has registered a touchdown catch in each of his past two games.
Analysis: With four catches this week, Washington will become the first Titans' receiver to record 70 catches in a season since 2004. "When Kenny (Britt) went out he stepped up in that room. He was leading before Kenny went out anyway," coach Mike Munchak said of the 28-year-old Washington. "He's come a long way in a year." The Jaguars are permitting an average of 17.2 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts this season. Consider Washington a high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 16.

Rookie QB finds Washington again
News: Titans WR Nate Washington wasn't having a good game Week 15 against the Colts until rookie QB Jake Locker entered the game late in the fourth quarter. And once again, Washington was able to salvage his day. Washington hauled in a 7-yard touchdown pass late in the game -- his sixth touchdown catch of the year. Washington finished with seven catches for 62 yards on a team-high 13 targets.
Analysis: Four of Washington's scores this season have come on passes from Locker. You better believe Washington sure hopes Locker replaces starter Matt Hasselbeck heading into Week 16 against the Jaguars. However, coach Mike Munchak didn't blame the loss on Hasselbeck, so it's looking like a QB change won't happen. If it does, however, Washington could be considered a nice sleeper Fantasy start for Week 16. As of now, consider him a No. 3 Fantasy WR. Washington had six catches for 67 yards in Week 1 against Jacksonville.

Washington active for Titans
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who was questionable with an ankle injury, is active and starting Week 15 at Indianapolis. The Colts are yielding 23.4 Fantasy points per week to WRs, which is the seventh-highest average in the NFL.
Analysis: Washington has showed a lot of courage the last few weeks for Tennessee as he has played through injury. However, it is worth noting that he did most of his damage in Week 14 with Jake Locker at QB. Matt Hasselbeck (calf) is starting Week 15, so that does hurt Washington's Fantasy appeal some. Consider him at best a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR.

Washington expected to play
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (ankle) returned to practice Friday and is expected to play Week 15 against the Colts, according to coach Mike Munchak. However, Washington is still officially listed as questionable. The Colts are yielding 23.4 Fantasy points per week to WRs, which is the seventh-highest average in the NFL.
Analysis: Washington deserves a medal for the performance he put on in Week 14 against the Saints. Hobbled by an ankle injury that wouldn't allow him to practice leading up to the game, Washington went off for 130 yards and one touchdown. He showed a lot of courage and earned a lot of respect from his teammates. Now, we have to see what he does for an encore against the Colts. The big caveat is who will be QBing for Tennessee. If it's Matt Hasselbeck, then Washington isn't as valuable of a Fantasy start. If it's Jake Locker, then Washington becomes an intriguing Fantasy sleeper. Washington has had his best games (Atlanta and New Orleans) when Locker has been under center. Take the QB situation into account when starting Washington this week.

Washington still has ankle issue
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington was back on the practice injury report on Wednesday as the team prepares to play at Indianapolis in Week 15. Washington left last week's game with a back injury, but has recovered from that ailment. Instead, Washington continues to miss practice due to a nagging ankle injury that has plagued him for a few weeks now. Washington is expected to play against the Colts, which are allowing the seventh-most Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers on the season.
Analysis: Washington caught six passes for 130 yards and a touchdown prior to leaving the game against the Saints Week 14. Washington now has three touchdowns in his last four games and has become a consistent Fantasy weapon. Fantasy owners should expect him to suit up Week 15 at the Colts. Consider Washington a low-end No. 2 or high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 15.

Washington shines, hurt again
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who was questionable with an ankle injury, was able to play in Week 14 against New Orleans, and he was a star. Washington had six catches for 130 yards and a touchdown, but he was not able to finish the game after hurting his back. The Tennessean reports that Washington was still having back spasms in the locker room after the game. Washington had nine targets in the game, and he had the majority of his production, including the touchdown, from backup QB Jake Locker, who replaced Matt Hasselbeck (calf) in the second quarter.
Analysis: We'll find out if Washington is able to play in Week 15 at Indianapolis, and he would be considered a must-start Fantasy WR if Locker starts over Hasselbeck. Washington was stellar against the Colts in Week 8 when he finished with 34 yards receiving, 3 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Washington questionable Week 14
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (ankle) did not practice with the team Friday and was limited to running. He is officially listed as questionable for Week 14 against the Saints. "Im hoping, I know that he feels good about it and he feels that he has two more days to do it," coach Mike Munchak said. "You would love to see him do more today than he could have but he has been doing everything he can. You hope with something like that that at game time its one of those things that you can tape it up with adrenaline he can help us in some way on Sunday." However, Munchak added that Washington wouldn't be 100 percent. "He would be like he was at the end of the game (Week 13) still where we think he can help us win and make plays, but there is no doubt that he will be handicapped somewhat," Munchak said.
Analysis: The Titans were hopeful that Washington would practice Friday, but it did not happen. The team needs him active Sunday for a key game against the Saints, so Washington could play without practicing. However, he could run the risk of a setback, so Washington is a risky Fantasy play. Consider using healthier alternatives.

Washington sustains ankle injury
News: Titans WR Nate Washington couldn't finish the game Week 13 at Buffalo because of an ankle injury. Washington first hurt his left ankle on a 12-yard catch in the third quarter. Washington returned to action on the next series, but he aggravated the injury on a 12-yard catch early in the fourth quarter and did not return to the game. He finished with four catches for 40 yards.
Analysis: Washington showed a lot of heart trying to play through pain, but he just couldn't finish the game. "He just wanted to stay on the field," coach Mike Munchak said. "He's dedicated himself to having the best year he can and it's showing." Washington is having another productive season, but he is still inconsistent from week-to-week. Washington closing in on new career-high
News: Titans WR Nate Washington heads into Week 13 at Buffalo needing 60 yards to set a new career-high. He also needs just one catch for his first 50-catch campaign. Washington has five catches for 93 yards and one touchdown in two career games against Buffalo. The Bills are yielding 22.2 Fantasy points per week to WRs, which is 10th-highest in the NFL. WRs have also totaled seven touchdowns in the last four games against Buffalo.
Analysis: Washington had a monster performance in Week 11 against the Falcons to only follow that up with a one-catch outing Week 12 against the Bucs. Although, the elements played a part in his poor outing. It was poor weather conditions on Sunday, so Tennessee ran the ball plenty in a 23-17 win. Although, Washington has found it tough as the team's No. 1 receiver since Kenny Britt got hurt earlier in the season. Consider Washington at best a No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 13.

Washington has major letdown
News: After enjoying his best game of the year in Week 11 against the Falcons, Titans WR Nate Washington crashed back to earth in a quiet Week 12 performance against the Buccaneers. Washington was targeted six times in the 23-17 win, but he made only one 12-yard catch in the game. His lone reception did help the Titans to get within field goal range, and Rod Bironas capped off the fourth-quarter drive with a 52-yard field goal.
Analysis: Washington has been highly inconsistent this season, though he has shown several times that he can help owners in standard leagues. Despite his quiet Week 12 performance, the promise is still there for Week 13, especially with a good matchup with the Bills in store. He is worth considering as a No. 3 Fantasy WR or as a flex option for the coming week.

Washington tries to repeat success
News: Titans WR Nate Washington had his best game of the year in Week 11, torching the Falcons for 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns. While the Falcons presented a favorable matchup, Washington's Week 12 rival, the Buccaneers, have been just as welcoming. They have allowed opposing wide receivers an average of 169 receiving yards per game, which is the 10th-highest average in the league. In each of the last two weeks, a wide receiver has gained at least 80 receiving yards and scored a touchdown against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Washington will be hard-pressed to match his Week 11 production, but Week 12 should still be a good week for him. Given the favorable matchup, Washington will be worth using as either a No. 3 Fantasy WR or as a flex option.

Washington benefits from Locker
News: Titans WR Nate Washington had his best game of the season in Week 11 against the Falcons. He caught nine passes for 115 yards -- both season highs -- and also scored two touchdowns in the 23-17 loss. Both of his scores came in the second half when Jake Locker took over for Matt Hasselbeck, who left due to an elbow injury. He hauled in a 40-yard touchdown on Lockers' first drive before being on the receiving end of a 4-yard scoring strike late in the game. Washington, who was targeted nine times, led Tennessee in receiving in the defeat.
Analysis: Washington was able to find open space in the Falcons' secondary all day long on Sunday and started making some big plays once Locker came in. Lockers' ability to move around in the pocket gave him extra time to get open, and Washington made an excellent effort on his 40-yard touchdown grab. Unfortunately for owners, the Titans are committed to Hasselback as the starter at this point so Washington might not be as productive in Week 12 against the Buccaneers. Keep an eye on the situation and consider Washington as no worse than a No. 3 Fantasy WR against Minnesota.

Washington active for Week 11
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has been ruled active for Week 11 against the Falcons after being listed on the injury report with an illness. Atlanta ranks 23th in the league in pass defense, giving up over 253 yards per game, and have allowed an average of 22 Fantasy points per week to WRs.
Analysis: Washington has not caught more than four passes in each of the last four games but was limited by a hip injury a week ago. Still, he is on pace for a career year with the Titans and remains a top option in the passing game with Kenny Britt out for the season. The Falcons have not been very strong on pass defense thus far so it looks as though the 28-year-old has a favorable matchup. Consider Washington a low-end No. 3/high-end No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 11.

Still, he is on pace for a career year with the Titans and remains the No. 1 option in the passing game with Kenny Britt out for the season. The Falcons have not been very strong on pass defense thus far so it looks as though the 28-year-old has a favorable matchup. Consider Washington a low-end No. 3/high-end No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 11.

Washington hindered by injury Sunday
News: Titans coach Mike Munchak said on Monday that WR Nate Washington was limited by a hip injury in Week 10 against the Panthers. Washington finished Sunday's win with three catches for 40 yards and a 2-yard run. Nate was influenced by the injury, Munchak said. I dont think he was running as well as he hoped, but he still made some nice catches.
Analysis: Washington missed practice last week due to the injury but he was still able to play on Sunday. He has been limited to six catches for 68 yards over the last two games so keep an eye on his progress going forward. Hopefully this injury will not limit him going forward but make sure he is able to practice more the week leading up to Week 11 against the Falcons before getting him active in Fantasy.

Washington produces four Fantasy points
News: Titans WR Nate Washington totaled 40 yards on three catches in Week 10 at Carolina. He also had one carry for 2 yards and was targeted four times in the game.
Analysis: Washington came into Week 10 nursing a hip injury that put him questionable on the injury report, but the injury didn't limit him. He just couldn't break free against DB Chris Gamble. Washington hasn't had great performances since WR Kenny Britt went down early in the season with a knee injury, and teammate Damian Williams has been a better Fantasy option. Consider Washington at best a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 11 at Atlanta.

Washington cleared to play
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has been cleared to play Week 10 at Carolina despite missing most of the practice week and being questionable on the injury report.
Analysis: It's good that QB Matt Hasselbeck will have his top WR active for Week 10. However, Washington hasn't had great performances since WR Kenny Britt went down early in the season with a knee injury. Consider Washington at best a No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option Week 10. The Panthers are allowing WRs to average 15 Fantasy points per week, which is fourth-lowest in the NFL.

Washington is game-time decision
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who suffered a hip injury Week 9, is listed as questionable for Week 10 at Carolina. Washington practiced Friday for the first time this week and expects to play at Carolina. Theres a little soreness there, theres a little tension in the muscle but its nothing I cant work through, Washington said. The extra massages have been helping out.
Analysis: Coach Mike Munchak said earlier in the week he confident Washington would play Sunday, but now his questionable status puts his situation TBD. Washington is the Titans' best receiver, but he has found it tough to break loose now that he is the targeted man on offense since Kenny Britt suffered a season-ending knee injury. Consider Washington at best a No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option Week 10 if he plays. The Panthers are allowing WRs to average 15 Fantasy points per week, which is fourth-lowest in the NFL.

Washington could practice Friday
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (hip) missed a second straight practice Thursday, but coach Mike Munchak is hoping he returns Friday as the team prepares for Week 10 at Carolina.
Analysis: Check on Washington's Friday status. That is going to tell us a lot about his Week 10 status.

Washington appears likely for Week 10
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington was sore on Wednesday, but all involved believe he'll be able to play in Week 10 at Carolina, reports the Tennessean. Washington left Week 9 against the Bengals after three catches for 28 yards because of a hip injury. Washington said after practice that he expects to play in the Week 10 game.
Analysis: Washington got off to a fast start, but it's been tough sledding for him since Kenny Britt went out for the season in Week 3. It's not surprising now that Washington usually draws the opposing team's top cornerback. Consider Washington at best a No. 3 Fantasy WR or flex option Week 10 if he plays. The Panthers are allowing WRs to average 15 Fantasy points per week, which is fourth-lowest in the NFL.

News: Titans coach Mike Munchak said Monday that WR Nate Washington has a hip bruise, but he expects his No. 1 receiver to play Week 10 at Carolina. Washington left the game Sunday against the Bengals after three catches for 28 yards.

Washington hurts hip in loss
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington was limited by the Cincinnati secondary on Sunday of Week 9 at home. Washington did little in the game as he struggled getting open against the Bengals. Washington connected with QB Matt Hasselbeck for just three receptions and 28 yards and left the game late in the fourth quarter with a hip injury. Washington hurt the hip twice during the game and it went numb on him the second time before he left. Washington's longest reception went for 13 yards in the game. He did not score in the game after recording his second touchdown of the season in the Week 8 contest against the Colts. Washington has been close this season, but has yet to top 100 yards receiving in a game.
Analysis: Washington owners will have to monitor the hip injury going forward as it could limit him or even keep him out. Regardless, Washington certainly seems a long shot to reach 100 yards receiving in Week 10 at Carolina, especially with his latest injury. The Panthers have been decent this season against the pass, though that is mostly due to the fact that no team has been worse against the run. Carolina can't stop the run so Chris Johnson and Javon Ringer will have a field day. The Titans don't really enjoy passing much, anyway, so little should be expected of Washington against the Panthers. Fantasy owners can start Washington as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy WR, at best, for the Week 10 contest.

Washington looking for more yards
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington has only caught five passes for 44 yards in his last two games combined heading into Week 9 against the Bengals. Washington, however, scored a rushing touchdown to go with a receiving touchdown last week against Indianapolis. His season low in receiving yards before the last two weeks was 62 in Week 4 at Cleveland. Washington has caught six passes for 106 yards and a touchdown in his last five games played against the Bengals. The touchdown came at Cincinnati back in 2008.
Analysis: Washington will have a tall task ahead of him to perform well in Week 9 against the Bengals. Cincinnati is allowing the eighth-fewest Fantasy points per game to opposing receivers on the season. That said, Seattle receivers Ben Obomanu, Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin combined for 16 receptions for 282 yards in the Week 8 game against the Bengals. Cincinnati has only allowed three touchdowns to wide receivers this season, though, so Washington should be considered no more than a No. 3 Fantasy wide receiver for Week 9.

Two touchdowns for Washington
News: We figured Nate Washington would be a candidate to strike against the Colts in Week 8, but the two scores he delivered were a welcomed surprise. Washington caught what was ruled as a lateral from Matt Hasselbeck for a 3-yard touchdown run late in the first half. He then got open in the middle of the end zone on a 14-yard dart from Hasselbeck for a more traditional receiving score. Washington finished with 34 yards receiving, 3 yards rushing thanks to the lateral, and the two touchdowns.
Analysis: The Tiffin product is up to 433 yards on 33 catches this year with three total scores. He'll have a tougher matchup vs. the Bengals in Week 9, but with the Titans thin on receiving talent and Washington one of Hasselbeck's favorite targets, he'll have a chance to stay involved. Figure him to be a borderline No. 2/3 Fantasy WR against Cincinnati.

Washington produces at home
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington didn't do much last weekend against Houston, but gets an easier matchup for Week 8. The Titans host the Colts, a team that got burned by the Saints for more than 500 yards in Week 7. Washington has more than 90 yards receiving in two of his three home games this season. In five career games against the Colts, Washington has 14 receptions for 197 yards and zero scores. On average this season, opposing team's receivers are tallying 26.57 Fantasy points per contest versus Indy.
Analysis: Washington has done well with new quarterback Matt Hasselbeck this year, registering 399 yards receiving so far. But he's found the end zone just once. The Colts have given up 14 passing touchdowns this season and are allowing 265 passing yards per contest. Fantasy owners should view Washington as a No. 2 WR option for Week 8 as he does have a favorable matchup.

Washington part of team's malaise
News: The entire Titans offense came to a standstill in a Week 7 loss to the Texans, and WR Nate Washington was no exception. The team generated only 95 net passing yards, and Washington was held to a single catch for 10 yards. He was targeted a total of three times on the afternoon, though one of those targets could have resulted in big yardage. Washington would have had a 40-yard catch, but it was taken back after WR Damian Williams was penalized for an illegal pick.
Analysis: Though Washington has only one touchdown on the season, at least he had been a steady producer of yardage coming into Week 7. That made Washington appear as a reasonable use of a No. 2 WR slot on Fantasy rosters, but owners who started him have to be disappointed. He does get a more favorable matchup in Week 8 with the Colts coming to town, but until the Titans can fix their offensive woes, it might be best to look for other alternatives in standard leagues.

Washington not scoring much
News: WR Nate Washington has been the Titans' primary receiving target for the last two weeks, but his production has not increased despite the more prominent role. Since WR Kenny Britt went down for the rest of the season with a knee injury, Washington has gone two games without scoring a touchdown, and he has only one for the entire season. In Week 7, he will face a Texans defense that has allowed only seven receiving touchdowns this season, which ties them for eighth-best in the league. They also rank ninth in fewest points allowed per game. In his two games as the Titans' main receiver, Washington has made seven catches for 131 yards.
Analysis: Though Washington's production hasn't been helped by Britt's absence, that's more of an endorsement of his performance in the season's early weeks than it is an indictment of his recent output. Washington may not have one of his best games of the year in Week 7, but his steady yardage production makes him a safe choice as a low-end No. 2 Fantasy WR.

Washington just misses big game
News: Playing his second game as the team's primary receiving target with Kenny Britt sidelined for the year with a knee injury, Titans WR Nate Washington had a team-high 69 receiving yards on five catches. But his numbers could have been much better than that. Washington just missed scoring a touchdown on two separate occasions, having the ball jarred from his hands as he was attempting to stick the landing on a leaping grab in the first quarter and getting stopped at the 1-yard line on 25-yard pass in the third. In all, Washington was targeted eight times.
Analysis: Washington owners shouldn't lose heart over this performance. Yes, Washington's numbers have only gone down with Britt out of the lineup, but he was facing a defense that entered the day ranked No. 1 against the pass and still almost managed to have a big game. He'll likely face better coverage with Britt out of the lineup than he did with Britt in it, but QB Matt Hasselbeck still looks his way often enough for him to put up some numbers. The Titans have a bye in Week 6, but Washington will be at worst a No. 3 Fantasy WR when the Titans host the Texans in Week 7.

Washington facing toughest test
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington heads into Week 5 at Pittsburgh coming off a two-catch, 62-yard effort at Cleveland in Week 4. Playing for the first time as QB Matt Hasselbeck's top target in the passing game, Washington was underwhelming after going for 92 yards and a TD in Week 3. Washington has a good history against the Steelers, however, as he caught four passes for 34 yards and a touchdown against them last season.
Analysis: Washington could have a tough test ahead of him in Week 5 against the Steelers. Pittsburgh has not been good against the run this season, but no team is giving up fewer Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. The Steelers have not allowed a single WR to top six catches or 82 yards against them this season. Only Anquan Boldin Week 1 has scored against the Steelers. In fact, Houston receivers managed just four catches for 36 yards against Pittsburgh last week and once Andre Johnson left the game injured, no other receiver caught a single pass. Washington remains Hasselbeck's top target, however, and that keeps him a low-end No. 2 or high-end No. 3 Fantasy WR for Week 5. That said, don't be surprised if he has an underwhelming performance.

Washington quiet other than one play
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, playing his first game as the team's primary receiving option with Kenny Britt sidelined for the year with a knee injury, had a tough test Week 4 at Cleveland. He was facing a Browns defense that entered the game ranked third against the pass, and though he ended up with only two receptions, he took one 57 yards to set the Titans up for a touchdown. In all, he finished with 62 yards. He was targeted four times.
Analysis: On the one hand, Washington's day was worse than it looked considering the 57-yard catch came after two defenders collided with each other right after the snap, leaving him wide open. On the other hand, it was better than it looked considering QB Matt Hasselbeck needed only 10 completions for his 220 yards. The Titans offense was so efficient that Washington didn't have a chance for more than two catches. Overall, we'll consider it a wash and continue to think of Washington as a Fantasy WR worth using, especially with Britt out. Unfortunately, he has another tough matchup Week 5 at Pittsburgh, so you should treat him as a No. 3 Fantasy option.

Washington has tough test already
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who will be taking over as the team's No. 1 option in the passing game with Kenny Britt out for the year with a knee injury, couldn't ask for a worse time to step into the role than Week 4 at Cleveland. He'll be facing a Browns defense that ranks third against the pass, allowing 187.3 yards per game, and he'll be going head-to-head against up-and-coming cornerback Joe Haden, who the Browns recently said would cover the opposing team's top wide receiver going forward instead of switching based on how the offense lines up.
Analysis: With Britt down, Washington is clearly the Titans' top wide receiver, which means he'll probably have to contend with Haden all game. Washington does have back-to-back 90-yard games and could ultimately emerge as an every-week option in Fantasy without Britt there to steal some of his looks, but you might not want to give him the benefit of the doubt against a team that has allowed only 14.0 Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers this season, fourth-best in the NFL. Treat Washington as a No. 3 Fantasy WR this week.

Washington officially the man for Titans
News: Tennessee has ruled receiver Kenny Britt out for the season with his knee injury and that is going to mean Nate Washington must step up big time going forward. Washington did begin stepping up in the Week 3 game against Denver as he finished with eight receptions for 92 yard and a touchdown. Washington has at least six catches and 67 yards in every game this season with Britt starting opposite him.
Analysis: Washington has totaled 191 yards receiving and a touchdown with 15 catches in his last two games and is only going to get more and more looks going forward with Britt officially out for the season. We haven't seen Washington this productive in years, and it should keep up. He'll take on a pesky Browns secondary in Week 4 but it's a pass defense that's allowed four passing scores in three weeks. Consider Washington at least a quality No. 3 Fantasy WR with potential to play better than that, like he did in this game.

Washington solid in Week 3
News: Not only did Nate Washington lead the Titans in receiving in Week 3, but he could end up being the team's top receiver going forward. Washington caught a career-best eight passes for 92 yards and a touchdown, most of which came after teammate Kenny Britt left with a right knee injury. More impressive, Washington caught the eight passes on nine targets. Washington has come close to 100 yards receiving in back-to-back games.
Analysis: No doubt about it, Washington's hot. And if Britt's out, his targets will continue on and his touchdown opportunities will increase.

Washington to stay involved
News: One of the quieter names in Fantasy circles these days is Nate Washington of the Titans. It probably has to do with Kenny Britt getting off to a red-hot start to the season, overshadowing Washington's numbers. But Washington remains a top target of Titans QB Matt Hasselbeck, catching 13 passes for 166 yards through two games. He'll take on a Broncos secondary expected to play without CB Champ Bailey, and that's good news. The Broncos gave up two 120-yard receivers last week to the Bengals.
Analysis: Washington has more targets on the season than DeSean Jackson, Nate Burleson, Mario Manningham and Percy Harvin. He has more receptions and receiving yards than Santana Moss, Roddy White and even Calvin Johnson. Of course it's the touchdowns missing from Washington's bottom line that have kept him a Fantasy secret. We don't mind him as a No. 3 Fantasy WR this week, especially in PPR formats. He's actually off to a solid start and we know for a fact that Hasselbeck likes throwing to him.

Washington falls short of 100-yard game
News: Titans WR Nate Washington fell 1 yard short of a 100-yard performance in Week 2 against the Ravens. Washington managed 99 yards on seven catches, with his long reception going 42 yards. Washington was targeted 11 times in the passing game, which was second to Kenny Britt's 13 targets.
Analysis: Washington has totaled 13 catches for 166 yards through two games. The only thing missing is a touchdown. Washington is on pace to potentially have a career season in catches and yards, and the difference is veteran QB Matt Hasselbeck, who has revived a dormant passing game in Tennessee. Britt is the star at wideout, but Washington is definitely Hasselbeck's second favorite target. That makes Washington a low-end Fantasy flier in deeper formats heading into Week 3 against the Broncos.

Washington to face an old foe
News: Titans WR Nate Washington is all too familiar with his Week 2 opponent -- the Baltimore Ravens. Washington was in the thick of the Pittsburgh-Baltimore rivalry when he played with the Steelers from 2005-08. However, Week 2 will be the first time he suits up against Baltimore in a Titans uniform. Washington has 20 catches for 276 yards and two touchdowns in six career games against Baltimore. Steelers WRs totaled 17 catches for 208 yards and one touchdown against the Ravens in Week 1.
Analysis: Washington looked good in Week 1 against Jacksonville, totaling six catches for 67 yards. Now that the Titans have a throwing QB in Matt Hasselbeck and WR Kenny Britt continues to draw more coverage as an emerging star, then that could free up Washington for more favorable matchups. Washington is still a low-end Fantasy WR for Week 2, but his progress is certainly worth monitoring.

Washington notches six grabs
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was the underneath option for Matt Hasselbeck Week 1 against the Jaguars. While Kenny Britt went deep to stretch the defense, Washington cut under his routes and ended up with six catches on the afternoon. He amassed 67 yards as a result, coming from seven total targets.
Analysis: Washington was able to create separation underneath, and he was productive early on for Tennessee. He has solid hands and speed, but his route-running ability remains his best asset while Britt uses his raw talent to get down field. Fantasy owners should not rely on Washington week-in, week-out , but he can be effective given the right matchup. That matchup is not in Week 2 with the Ravens on the schedule.

Washington atop Titans depth chart
News: Nate Washington was listed atop the team's first official depth chart of the season at wide receiver, starting opposite Kenny Britt. The team is slated to debut in Week 1 at Jacksonville. Washington caught six passes for 101 yards in the preseason.
Analysis: The veteran always had the starting job to lose and it is no surprise to see him listed as a starter again. He was held to four catches for 49 yards against the Jaguars last season, including a game in Jacksonville in which he was held to one 9-yard catch. The good news for Washington is that QB Matt Hasselbeck should be an upgrade at QB over Vince Young and Kerry Collins, if Hasselbeck stays healthy. Washington has managed six touchdowns in each of his last two seasons with the Titans, but he hasn't surpassed 700 yards. He is better stashed to be used as a bye-week replacement in deeper leagues.

Agility drills help Washington
News: Titans WR Nate Washington is coming off a career high in receiving yards (687), but is striving to improve even more in 2011. Washington feels stronger in his legs and upper body after intensive agility work with weights in the offseason. It makes me more powerful off the line and out of my breaks, Washington said.
Analysis: Washington is going to need to be at the top of his game, especially if WR Kenny Britt has to miss any time because of some disciplinary issues. He is still at best a late-round Fantasy option in seasonal formats.

Washington hauls in deep one
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington was only able to get his hands on one pass in the Week 17 game against the Colts, but it was good for 38 yards. The connection from QB Kerry Collins ended up being the longest play of the game for either team. Washington was targeted four times on the afternoon.
Analysis: Washington broke the 700-yard mark for the first time in his career, but he failed to find the end zone on Sunday, so he ends up with six scores on the year to match last season's effort. He remains the big-play threat on the outside for the Titans, but his Fantasy value will take a slight dip heading into 2011 with the emergence of second-year WR Kenny Britt. With RB Chris Johnson still expected to be the focal point of the offense, Washington could have a hard time duplicating 2010's output. He should be drafted as a reserve in most Fantasy formats.

WR seeks lucky seven
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington will attempt to establish a new career high for touchdowns in the Titans' Week 17 game against Indianapolis. Washington has six touchdowns this season, matching his career best that he set last year in his first season with Tennessee. However, Washington has reached the end zone just once in his last six games but is facing a Colts team that has allowed 10 touchdowns to opposing receivers this season.
Analysis: Washington's goal of reaching a new career high could be a difficult task. Indianapolis has allowed just two scores -- both to the same player -- in their last five games. In the teams' previous meeting this season, Washington managed three catches for 48 yards -- his largest output in his last five games. The Colts are allowing 17.8 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts and have surrendered at least 24 points in their last four games. Consider Washington a No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 17.

Washington catches three passes
News: Titans WR Nate Washington caught three passes in Week 16 at Kansas City. He totaled 37 yards and was targeted just three times in the game.
Analysis: Even with QB Kerry Collins throwing the ball 37 times in a game the Titans trailed throughout, Washington was never first option in the offense. Fantasy owners can't rely on a player in his situation at this critical stage in the season and he is a player we recommend avoiding in all formats for the final scoring period of the season as a result.

Washington ready for Chiefs
News: Titans WR Nate Washington is ready for his matchup at Kansas City in Week 16. Washington, who scored for the first time in five games last week against Houston, is facing a Chiefs defense that has allowed 13 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers, including four in the past four games. Nine wide receivers have reached double digits in Fantasy points against the Chiefs, and Washington has three touchdowns on the road this season.
Analysis: Washington is back as the No. 2 WR for the Titans with Kenny Britt healthy. We consider Washington a No. 3 Fantasy WR at best for this matchup. He does have the chance to score, but Britt is the best Fantasy WR when looking at the Titans.

Washington comes up with TD
News: Titans WR Nate Washington wasn't much of a factor with Kenny Britt back in the picture Week 15 against the Texans, finishing with two catches for 20 yards. But he did end his four-game scoring drought with a 3-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter. He was targeted four times, second to Britt's nine.
Analysis: Washington certainly has a role on offense, but he's not QB Kerry Collins' go-to guy. He'll score touchdowns from time to time, but he has less than 50 receiving yards in four straight games, making him too inconsistent for standard Fantasy leagues. Treat him as a No. 4 Fantasy WR at Kansas City in Week 16.

Will Washington end drought?
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who hasn't scored a touchdown in four games, has a chance to end the slump Week 15 against the Texans, who rank dead last against the pass, allowing 279.9 yards per game. They also give up 25.2 Fantasy points per game to wide receivers, third-most in the league. The Titans passing game seems poised to take advantage of the matchup, with QB Kerry Collins throwing for 244 yards and three touchdowns last week against the Colts.
Analysis: Kenny Britt returned from a hamstring injury last week and is probably the preferred receiving option in the Titans passing game, but Washington could still factor if the Titans decide to abandon their run-heavy approach to take advantage of the matchup. He's a long shot to contribute in Fantasy given his modest production so far, but if you're desperate for help at wide receiver, he could surprise this week.

Washington nearly snags TD
News: Titans WR Nate Washington extended a streak he did not want to in the Week 14 game against the Colts after failing to find the end zone in four straight games. He nearly snapped the skid in the 4th quarter after getting a hold of a Kerry Collins pass in the end zone, but he could not control it all the way to the ground after DB Justin Tryon pried the ball out. Washington finished the game with three catches for 48 yards on seven targets from Collins. He briefly left the game with an undisclosed injury in the first half, but returned shortly thereafter.
Analysis: Washington was open on several occasions, but he had trouble holding onto the football. Still, he showcased his excellent route-running skills and Collins looked his way on more occasions than usual. With the return of Kenny Britt, Washington figures to be open more times than not. In the Week 15 game against the Texans, we see him as a low-end Fantasy WR suitable as a flex option.

Washington looking for TD
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has not been able to find the end zone in three games, just as the Titans offense has failed to in the last 13 quarters of football. In Week 14, the Titans will try to reverse the trend against the Colts. Indianapolis has not allowed an opposing WR to score a touchdown in two straight games. They rank fourth in the league against the pass, giving up just 200 yards per game. In two games against the Colts in 2009, Washington was productive. He caught seven passes for 81 yards.
Analysis: Washington has been up and down this season, but he has two 100-yard games and five TDs under his belt. The Titans have struggled to find an identity over the last few weeks. Washington has embodied mediocrity with the rest of the offense and heading into Week 14 he seems like a risky Fantasy play, especially with the return of WR Kenny Britt, who will warrant targets. Utilize him as a No. 4 Fantasy WR and nothing more.

N. Washington fails to deliver
News: Titans WR Nate Washington caught three passes for 40 yards in a Week 13 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: Washington has been one of the many victims of the Titans quarterback situation, and it doesn't look like things are going to get better any time soon. Washington now has 40 yards or less in three of his last four outings and won't be worth using in anything but the deepest Fantasy format in Week 14 vs. Indianapolis.

Washington to bounce back Week 13?
News: After making just one catch in a Week 12 loss to the Texans, Tennessee WR Nate Washington will look to bounce back in Week 13 against a Jaguars team that ranks 28th against the pass this season and is allowing opposing WR corps to average 26.7 Fantasy points.
Analysis: Washington will get Kerry Collins throwing him the ball in Week 13, which has to be a relief to his Fantasy owners who watched him almost put up a goose egg last Sunday with rookie QB Rusty Smith under center. While Washington had just one catch for 9 yards earlier this season against the Jags, he should be started in deeper leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy option for this matchup.

Washington gets one catch
News: Starting alongside rookie QB Rusty Smith in Week 12 at Houston, WR Nate Washington had only one catch for 10 yards to go with a rush that went backward for minus-8 yards. He was targeted four times in the game.
Analysis: Washington had been playing very well, so one could assume that his quarterback play was to blame. Hopefully the Titans go in another direction at quarterback and it helps Washington produce better stats. Roll with him as a No. 3 option assuming there's a quarterback change in Tennessee next week when he plays vs. the Titans.

Another good day for Washington?
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington heads into Week 12 with a disastrous situation at quarterback and a wonderful matchup in Houston. What gives? With Rusty Smith primed to make his first NFL start, can he overcome his own issues as a young, learning QB to be able to take advantage of the team allowing the most Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts? Washington has clearly been the Titans' go-to receiver in recent weeks with Kenny Britt injured and Randy Moss mostly a decoy.
Analysis: Washington has topped 100 yards or scored a touchdown, or both, in three straight games for the Titans. He has clearly come on as the top receiver in the passing game. Smith still looked his way once he entered for Vince Young against the Redskins, too. Smith should have his struggles but we still think Washington will remain his top option. That should mean continued excellence against a Texans team that just gave up 237 yards and three touchdowns to Jets WRs in Week 11. It is taking a bit of a risk, but go ahead and continue starting Washington in most Fantasy leagues for Week 12 thanks to the matchup.

Washington tops 100 yards
News: Targeted a team-high nine times during the overtime loss to the Redskins, Tennessee WR Nate Washington easily led the Titans in receiving Week 11. Washington caught a team-high five passes for 117 yards and did not get into the end zone. His long grab went for 52 yards and Washington seemed to have a very solid rapport with Rusty Smith. Smith came on for Vince Young in the game and should remain the starter heading into Week 12 in Houston.
Analysis: Washington failed to score a touchdown for the first time in two weeks but also cemented himself as the team's go-to receiver. Randy Moss who? Moss was more of a decoy for the Titans as Washington was the one to make the big receptions. With his second 100-yard game in his last three contests, Washington can be a solid No. 2 Fantasy WR for Week 12 at Houston, regardless of who is throwing the passes. The Texans are one of the worst in the NFL at limiting opposing Fantasy wide receivers.

Can Washington stop Washington?
News: Titans WR Nate Washington caught a touchdown pass last week in Miami, his second in as many weeks. Entering Week 11 against the Redskins, Washington needs just one more touchdown to tie his career high of six in 2009. Washington has played Washington before. That came in 2008 when he caught two passes for 59 yards in that game. Washington just had a 100-yard game in Week 8 at San Diego but he could start seeing fewer targets from QB Vince Young with Randy Moss now in his second game with Tennessee.
Analysis: Washington didn't lose targets in Week 10 but Moss was making his first appearance with his new team. Young might start looking to Moss more beginning against the Redskins. Still, Washington is a dangerous threat in the passing game and could continue his touchdown streak against a Redskins team allowing the second-most average Fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers. Just last week against the Eagles on Monday night, the Redskins allowed Philadelphia WRs to make 11 catches for 253 yards and three touchdowns. Three different receivers scored and each had at least 76 yards in the game. Young should be able to pick apart the defense and Washington should be used in most leagues as a No. 3 Fantasy WR.

Washington scores in 2nd straight
News: Titans WR Nate Washington made it consecutive games with a touchdown when he scored in a Week 10 loss at Miami. Washington finished the game with only three catches for 26 yards, but was targeted nine times.
Analysis: Washington's targets certainly didn't take a hit on Sunday as a result of Randy Moss' arrival, and the fact he only caught one third of his targets shows just how poorly Kerry Collins and Vince Young were throwing the ball at Sun Life Stadium. In Week 11, the Titans will face the Redskins, who have one of the league's worst pass defenses. Continue to use Washington in deeper leagues as a flex option for that nice matchup.

Washington one to watch in Week 10
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who caught four passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in Week 10, will be a player to watch in Week 10 at Miami, as it will be interesting to see how his targets and stats do with Randy Moss playing on the opposite side of the field. The Dolphins have given up five passing scores to wide receivers in the last three games.
Analysis: While Moss is certainly going to impact Washington's Fantasy value one way or another, his owners should be more concerned about the health of Kenny Britt, as his return would lead to Washington's demotion to the No. 3 spot. Miami certainly is a lot worse against the run than it is against the pass Fantasy-wise, and Washington is worth a look as a high-end No. 3 option for Week 10, one with the potential to put up a decent amount of stats on Sunday afternoon.

Moss' arrival bad for Washington?
News: On Wednesday, the Titans claimed WR Randy Moss off waivers from Minnesota, meaning that Nate Washington will presumably share the field with Moss starting in Week 10 at Miami. Washington, who posted career-best stats in Week 8 as the Titans' primary wideout following an injury to Kenny Britt, could lose some playing time once Britt returns from his hamstring injury.
Analysis: Washington has been considered a good Fantasy reserve for much of the season, and Moss' arrival will only help his short-term future as he'll see single coverage routinely. But he probably saw a lot of single coverage in the past year-plus and has only improved minimally. We love him as a sleeper and bye-week replacement option in Week 10 at Miami, particularly since it's unlikely that Dolphins CB Vontae Davis won't be assigned to him. But once Kenny Britt gets healthy and infused into the lineup, Washington's opportunities could trail off. Figure Washington is worth carrying and possibly starting in deeper leagues until Britt comes back.

Career day for Washington vs. Chargers
News: Titans WR Nate Washington had the best performance of his career in Week 8 against the Chargers. After starter Kenny Britt went down in the first quarter with a hamstring injury, Washington picked up the slack by catching four passes for 117 yards and a touchdown in the 33-25 loss. His touchdown strike came from QB Vince Young in the fourth quarter after Washington got behind the secondary and made a wide-open catch for 71 yards, a new career high. Washington was targeted for nine passes and averaged 21.5 yards per reception in the defeat.
Analysis: Washington matched the production from his previous five games combined in Week 8 and added his first touchdown catch in three weeks. He was the main target for Young in the loss and continued to see passes thrown his way even when Kerry Collins came in after Young got injured. He has become a starter in Tennessee but Fantasy owners should keep an eye on Britt's progress as it could have a significant impact in Washington's value. With the Titans on a bye next week, look for Washing to have continued success against the Dolphins in Week 10 as they entered Sunday with the 17th ranked passes defense in the league.

Washington coming off two poor games
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has just two catches for 16 yards over the last two games and will face a Chargers defense in Week 8 that does not give up much through the air. San Diego ranks first in the NFL against the pass, giving up just 158.6 yards per game, and have held opposing wideouts to 10.1 Fantasy points per contest. In three career games against the Chargers, Washington has caught nine passes for 98 yards.
Analysis: Washington was a hot commodity in Fantasy earlier in the year but has fallen off the map with some slow performances of late. He had three touchdown receptions over the first five games but has become less involved in the passing game with the emergence of Kenny Britt in Tennessee. San Diego has a solid pass defense that will look to shut down the Titans and make them one-dimensional. Washington has exactly one grab in three straight games and should be viewed as a No. 4 Fantasy WR for Week 8 against the Chargers.

Washington does very little
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was limited to just one catch in Week 7 against the Eagles. He was targeted four times in the game. This came in a game when QB Kerry Collins threw for 276 yards and three touchdowns -- all to WR Kenny Britt. Britt finished the game with seven grabs for 225 yards.
Analysis: Collins appeared to only have eyes for Britt against the Eagles despite the fact that he missed the first quarter-plus of the game as a punishment for a bar brawl this week. Washington missed a chance to establish himself as a go-to option in Britt's absence and we find it hard to envision another scenario this season where he might get a better chance to contribute. Washington has exactly one grab in three straight games and is not a recommended Fantasy receiver for Week 8 at San Diego.

Washington looking for a spark
News: Titans WR Nate Washington will be looking for his first multi-catch performance since Week 4 when he takes on the Eagles in Week 7. The Eagles enter the week having allowed the fourth fewest Fantasy points in standard scoring leagues to date. They have allowed just four touchdowns to wide receivers in six games and just two since allowing a pair of touchdowns to wide receivers in Week 1.
Analysis: Washington is a secondary receiver in a weak pass offense. The Titans rely heavily on RB Chris Johnson and are very conservative in the passing game to the point that even their leading receiver, Kenny Britt, posts modest numbers. While Washington could be of use down the line when better matchups arise, we don't recommend activating him in Week 7.

Slow Week 6 for Washington
News: Titans WR Nate Washington did not see many passes thrown his way in Week 6 against the Jaguars. He was targeted just two times, catching one pass for 9 yards in the 30-3 win.
Analysis: Washington caught just one pass last week as well, but it was a 24-yard touchdown grab. On a night in which starting QB Vince Young left with an injury and backup Kerry Collins had to finish the game, Washington was not able to get much going. He has seen his production slip over the past few weeks and Tennessee has thrown for more than 200 yards in a game once this season. The former Tiffin Dragon has caught 16 passes for 227 yards and three touchdowns through the first six games but remains more of a No. 4 Fantasy WR or flex option in deeper leagues against the Eagles in Week 7.

Washington to face soft pass D
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has caught a touchdown pass in three of the first five games this season and will face a Jaguars defense in Week 6 that ranks 29th in the NFL against the pass. Jacksonville has given up an average of 282.2 passing yards per game through the first five weeks and also allows 32.40 Fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts, which ranks last in the league. In six career games against the Jaguars, Washington has caught 19 passes for 244 yards with four touchdowns.
Analysis: Washington caught just one pass last week against the Cowboys but it was good for a 24-yard touchdown strike. He has been targeted 30 times on the year, however, he has only managed to catch 15 of those for 218 yards. QB Vince Young has yet to throw for over 200 yards in a game this season but Washington has been one of his top targets. Consider Washington a No. 4 Fantasy WR or flex option in deeper leagues, despite having a favorable matchup at Jacksonville in Week 6.

Washington makes only catch count
News: Titans WR Nate Washington only had one catch in Week 5 against the Cowboys, but he made it count. Washington was on the receiving end of a 24-yard strike from Vince Young in the first quarter that gave Tennessee an early 7-0 lead. It was his only reception of the game despite being targeted seven times.
Analysis: Washington only had one catch on Sunday, but still was Young's favorite target evidenced by his team-high seven targets. He now has 30 targets on the season, however, he has only managed to catch 15 of those for 218 yards and three touchdowns. The Titans passing attack simply isn't potent enough to consistently put up big numbers. Consider him a No. 4 Fantasy WR in deeper leagues, despite having a favorable matchup at Jacksonville in Week 6.

Washington scoreless in two games
News: Titans WR Nate Washington has gone without a touchdown in two straight games after scoring once in each of the first two games this season. He looks to end his scoring skid in Week 5 against the Cowboys. Washington has faced Dallas just once in his career in 2008 with the Steelers (four catches for 58 yards). He is averaging 46.4 yards per game and has four touchdowns in 17 career contests against the NFC. Dallas has allowed WRs to total 33 catches for 435 yards and two touchdowns in three games this season. Dallas also hasn't allowed a 100-yard receiver.
Analysis: With Justin Gage sidelined by injury, Washington becomes even that much more important to the Titans' passing attack. Sadly, the Titans are 28th in passing offense (152.2 ypg), so it's not like they are a good passing team to begin with. Washington doesn't have a 100-yard game, and if he doesn't score, then he is a tough start in Fantasy. Consider Washington a desperation Fantasy play in Week 5.

Washington stays steady
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was the Titans' leading receiver in Week 4, hauling in four passes for 42 yards in a 26-20 loss to Denver. He has had at least three catches in each of his four games, though it was the second straight game in which he failed to score.
Analysis: The Titans had more passing plays in Week 4 than in any other week this season, but with a total of 173 passing yards, their receivers still didn't produce enough to make an impact in Fantasy. Washington leads the team in targets with 23, but with 14 receptions over four games, he isn't going to matter outside of the deepest of Fantasy leagues. Consider Washington a bye-week replacement in most leagues.

Washington has chance to shine
News: Titans WR Nate Washington slumped in Week 3 at the Giants, hauling in three receptions for just 30 yards and no touchdowns. However, in Week 4, Washington is set to face a Broncos' defense that has been hospitable to opposing wide receivers. Only the Redskins, Texans, Jaguars and Colts have been better matchups for wide receivers, as they have averaged 28.0 Fantasy points against the Broncos' D so far this season. Washington leads the Titans' receiving corps in targets with 18.
Analysis: Even with the favorable matchup, Washington does not appear to have a high ceiling for Week 4, as the Titans have thrown the ball fewer times this year than any other team besides the Steelers. However, this will be a good test to see how valuable Washington could be in upcoming starts against the Redskins, Texans and Jaguars. At least for this week, the safe play is not to count on Washington as anything more than an emergency replacement option, but with a good performance, he could be relied on to provide more when he has favorable matchups.

Washington's streak ends
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was held out of the end zone for the first time this season in Week 3 at the Giants. He caught just three passes for 30 yards. QB Vince Young threw his way a team-high five times in a game in which he threw just 16 times.
Analysis: Washington got off to a big start in Week 1 with 88 yards and a touchdown and he had the team's only touchdown in Week 2 against the Steelers. But Washington hasn't had more than four grabs in any game and was part of an offense that very rarely threw it down field against the Giants. Part of it was because they didn't have to as they were ahead on the scoreboard, but part of it was also because the team played a very conservative passing style after Vince Young turned the ball over three times in Week 2. Washington isn't going to be a very appealing Fantasy option unless the Titans let loose, but there won't be much need to do that while Chris Johnson runs the show in the running game. Don't count on Washington as anything more than an emergency replacement option for Week 4 against Denver.

Washington looking to score again
News: Nate Washington will be looking to score for a third straight game in Week 3 at the N.Y. Giants. Washington scored on a 56-yard pass in Week 1 against the Raiders and on a 2-yard pass in Week 2 against the Steelers. The Giants, meanwhile, have allowed the ninth most Fantasy points to opposing wide receivers through the first two weeks of the season.
Analysis: Washington finished Week 2 against Pittsburgh with just four catches for 34 yards, so his output would have been very low without his late score. He has been targeted 13 times combined over two games and hasn't been all that spectacular, but the two touchdowns he's scored have allowed him to score the 11th most points in standard-scoring Fantasy formats. We are going to go out on a limb, however, and predict that he won't score touchdowns in all 16 games he hopes to play this year and Fantasy owners have to make sure they'd be comfortable with what he's producing minus the touchdowns. Right now, his seven catches for 112 yards over two games would rate him as a decent No. 3 receiver option. Use him in that role against the Giants.

Washington finds end zone
News: Titans WR Nate Washington caught a 2-yard touchdown pass in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers late in the fourth quarter. It was the only touchdown for Tennessee in the game. He finished the game with four catches for 34 yards.
Analysis: Washington has found the end zone in back-to-back games to begin the season. In Week 2, he caught a late score from backup QB Kerry Collins after Vince Young was removed from the game due to inefficiency. Coach Jeff Fisher has already come out and said that Young will be his starter for Week 3 at the Giants, but the instability in what is considered to be a weak pass offense makes Washington an unappealing starter in most Fantasy formats.

Washington facing former team
News: Titans WR Nate Washington will face his former team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Week 2. He has faced them just once in his career and he finished with only one catch for 8 yards in Week 1 of last season. He finished Week 1 against the Raiders with three grabs and a team-leading 88 receiving yards on three catches. The Steelers allowed 237 net passing yards in Week 1.
Analysis: Washington is the No. 1 WR on Tennessee's depth chart. Roddy White of the Falcons, their No. 1 receiver, caught 13 passes for 111 yards in Week 1 against the Steelers. Washington is not the type of receiver White is and is not used the same way Washington is in Tennessee, but Washington could have a chance to match his Week 1 production. Keep in mind, 56 of his 88 yards in Week 1 came on one big play-action play. Washington is still mainly just a deep-league option as a low-end starter. Even for a No. 1 WR, he doesn't get the amount of looks you would think. The ball was thrown his way just four times against the Raiders.

Washington scores on deep ball
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington got wide open behind the defense and scored in the first quarter of Sunday's Week 1 win over Oakland. Washington, who finished the game with three grabs and a team-leading 88 receiving yards, caught a 56-yard play-action pass from QB Vince Young for a touchdown to make the score 7-3 Tennessee as they did not trail again.
Analysis: Washington is clearly the No. 1 receiving option for the Titans and Young. Kenny Britt didn't make a catch in the game and Washington was really the only wide receiver to touch the ball, period. The Titans will host a much tougher defense in Week 2 against the Steelers. That could make throwing the ball more difficult. Washington was only used in 1 percent of Fantasy leagues for Week 1 and we think he should be used less frequently in Week 2.

Washington has wrist issue
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington will enter the first game of the regular season against Oakland with a lingering wrist injury. "I dont know where its gonna stand as far as the pain but regardless this is a game fought through the pain," Washington explained. "Its not gonna affect me in my head. I have a job to get done. Washington has only played one career game against the Raiders while he was with Pittsburgh. He caught one pass in that game for 49 yards.
Analysis: All signs point to Washington playing through the pain and being available against the Raiders in Week 1. Washington is currently atop the Tennessee depth chart at receiver after catching 47 passes last season for 569 yards with six touchdowns. Unfortunately for his Fantasy value, we don't expect the Titans to really go to the air all that much against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL in 2009. The Raiders were fairly stout against the pass and Tennessee won't really need to throw to win this game, hurting any receiver's value. We like Washington as a No. 3 or 4 Fantasy WR for Week 1 against the Raiders because he's the top option in the passing game but he's not really an exciting option.

N. Washington (wrist) sits
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was inactive for Saturday's preseason game against the Panthers. He is dealing with a wrist injury.
Analysis: This wrist problem has been bothering Washington for a couple of months now, but he looked good playing through it in last week's game against Arizona. While this injury has to be of some concern, Washington remains worth taking as a late-round flier in deeper Fantasy formats, as he's shown a good connection with QB Vince Young.

Washington, Young look in sync
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington led the Titans in receiving yards in the team's second preseason game against the Cardinals. Washington, who clearly looked like Vince Young's favorite receiver while they were both in the game, caught three passes for a team-high 44 yards. He had a long grab of 28 yards. Washington has made five grabs this preseason for 69 yards in two games.
Analysis: Washington was targeted by Young more than any other receiver and Young even tried to force him the ball in the end zone. With Justin Gage out for the game, Washington was clearly the top option. That could translate into some solid Fantasy production during the regular season. We like Washington as a No. 4 or 5 Fantasy WR but he definitely has the ability to be more.

Wrist bothers Washington again
News: Titans WR Nate Washington aggravated a wrist injury during practice Friday that he first suffered in June OTAs. "He's working through some pain when he falls on it," head coach Jeff Fisher explained. "The pain goes away, and he comes back. It's not prohibiting him from catching the ball." Washington insists it's nothing serious. "This is training camp," he said. "Nicks and bangs are gonna come." Washington said he has "tried some different tape jobs" to help keep it strong.
Analysis: Washington's injury doesn't appear to be a serious one, but it's worth monitoring. He's currently penciled in as a starter ahead of second-year man Kenny Britt, who has had some health issues himself this offseason. Even though Washington will likely start this season, Tennessee hardly has a prolific passing offense, so he should be considered a No. 4 Fantasy wideout at best.

Washington wants zero dropped passes
News: After recording seven dropped passes in 2009, WR Nate Washington has looked sure-handed in training camp. "I want it to be zero (this year), but I realize that's impossible," he said. "This is a game where you're gonna make mistakes. It's all about how you bounce back. In previous years, I had a hard time bouncing back."
Analysis: It's good to hear Washington is catching passes in training camp after suffering a wrist injury in late June. That doesn't seem to be an issue. Washington had an OK season in his first year with Tennessee in 2010. He racked up 47 catches for 569 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. But those numbers were on par with what he did in Pittsburgh. The only difference is that Washington was a No. 3 receiver with the Steelers and was a starter in Tennessee. The Titans don't exactly have the most-reliable passing game in the NFL, so Washington is more of a No. 4 or No. 5 Fantasy WR on Draft Day. The TD potential is there, but he needs to up his catches and yards before moving up the Fantasy rankings.

Washington deals with wrist injury
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was held out of practice Tuesday with a sprained left wrist suffered in a collision with CB Jason McCourty late last week. "Nate is fine," coach Jeff Fisher said. "We just backed him down. There's no damage." Washington said he's uncertain whether he'll participate in workouts Thursday or Friday, the Titans' last two workouts prior to training camp.
Analysis: Keep an eye on Washington heading into training camp and hope he is OK. We like Washington as a solid reserve WR in 2010, and he's worth a late-round pick in all formats. While second-year WR Kenny Britt continues to struggle, Washington has done well this offseason and looks in line for a good year as long as he's 100 percent healthy.

Washington sizzling for the Titans
News: Titans WR Nate Washington continues to be a practice standout -- a good thing since it looks like the team will rely on him for a chunk of the offense again in 2009. Washington has caught everything thrown at him, a far cry from a 2009 season in which he caught only 47 balls and had seven drops. "I don't want to miss any plays in practice, let alone a game," Washington said. "If you practice hard Monday through Friday, then Sunday will be easy." Washington had his left wrist checked after colliding with CB Jason McCourty going up for a deep pass Thursday, but head coach Jeff Fisher said he was fine.
Analysis: Washington had an up-and-down 2009 in his first season where he was a regular component of an offense (he never was an every-down player in Pittsburgh). With second-year receiver Kenny Britt struggling to make an impact with the first team, the door is open for Washington to take the next step in his progression and be a more balanced receiving threat. He's more of less a quality reserve Fantasy WR at this point, worth a middle- to late-round pick, but he's got some upside working in the Titans' offense. He's not a bad receiver to hide on your bench, and hopefully his wrist is 100 percent in training camp.

Washington, Gage retain value
News: The Tennessean reports the Titans are expecting WR Kenny Britt to act more professional heading into 2010, but it might be too late in terms of his role. Britt got off to a rocky start this offseason, especially when coaches left him on the sideline when the Titans held their first round of practices in April because he was out of shape, but he will be on the field this week when veterans and rookies are together for the first time. "I have my eyes on doing anything possible," Britt said. "Whatever coaches ask me to do, I'll do. It is not what I did last year or what can I do, it is what coaches ask me to do." QB Vince Young believes Britt has matured and is ready. "He definitely has the skills and the talent, and all he has to do is take care of his responsibilities," Young said. "That is part of growing up. I had to go through it. Everybody has to go through it." The story says Britt might revert to being the No. 3 WR for the Titans behind Nate Washington and Justin Gage in addition to Britt, who could be pushed by second-round pick Damian Williams.
Analysis: Gage and Washington will continue to be significant factors for the Titans, but we still think Britt has the most upside in Tennessee. Still, Washington could be worth a late-round pick in all seasonal leagues, and Gage should now be considered with a late-round pick in deeper formats. It's obvious the Titans want to rely on their veteran receivers to continue making plays in 2010.

News: Titans WR Nate Washington (ankle) practiced in full Thursday as Tennessee prepares for their Week 16 game Friday vs. San Diego. He was limited on Wednesday.
Analysis: Washington has been a disappointment in his first season with the Titans, but receivers have rarely succeeded in Tennessee's run-first offense over the last few years. Only use Washington in the deepest of leagues for Week 16 vs. San Diego.

N. Washington OK for Week 15
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (ankle) was not listed among the inactives for Week 15 vs. Miami.
Analysis: Washington has topped 50 yards receiving only three times this season. He plays for a run-first offense, making his contributions too insignificant for most Fantasy leagues. Only worry about him in the deepest of formats.

Washington's ankle not a problem
News: Titans WR Nate Washington, who practiced in full Thursday and Friday despite an ankle injury, is active for Week 14 against the Rams.

Washington probable for Week 14
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington (ankle) was able to practice in full on Thursday and Friday as the team prepares for its Week 14 game against St. Louis. He has been listed as probable for the game.
Analysis: Washington has found the end zone five times this season but has not managed to score in each of the past three weeks as Kenny Britt has come on a bit with Vince Young at the helm in Tennessee. Washington has a good matchup with the Rams in Week 14 but he should only be considered a low-end option.

News: Titans WR Nate Washington set a season high with 68 yards receiving Week 12 against the Cardinals. He had three catches.

Washington limited to one catch
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington was limited to one reception on Monday night in Week 11 at Houston. Washington's reception went for 14 yards and came in the first half.
Analysis: Washington has been fantastic as far as scoring touchdowns are concerned. He has five scores this season for the Titans. That said, outside of a seven-catch performance against Jacksonville in Week 4, Washington has never caught more than four balls in a game or gone for over 37 yards. Washington dropped a home run ball in the Monday night game that could have been a touchdown. Hes not reliable, despite the touchdowns, and should only be treated as a low-end No. 3 Fantasy option for Week 12 against the Cardinals poor pass defense.

Washington finds end zone in Week 10
News: Titans WR Nate Washington caught a 14-yard touchdown pass in Week 10 against Buffalo. He caught just two passes for 33 yards in the game.
Analysis: For Washington, it was his fifth touchdown catch of the season. He has not had more than three catches or 50 yards in a game since Week 4 and has not been a reliable Fantasy option outside of his five touchdowns. View him as no more than a low-end No. 3 WR for Week 11 at Houston.

Washington catches three balls Week 9
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington had a quiet game on Sunday in a Week 9 win over the 49ers. He caught three passes in the game, gaining a total of 30 yards. His longest reception of the day went for 30 yards.
Analysis: Justin Gage outshined Washington Week 9, catching four passes for 97 yards with two gains of 30-plus yards. With Vince Young at the helm the past two games, Washington has only five catches combined for 52 yards and a TD. He should be considered just a low-end option for Week 10 against the Bills.

Washington posts fourth TD in Week 8
News: Titans WR Nate Washington had his team's only receiving touchdown during a Week 8 win against the Jaguars. Washington caught Vince Young's first touchdown pass since the 2008 opener. Young got a bit lucky when Jaguars cornerback Derek Cox dropped a would-be interception in the end zone on the opening drive. But he made plenty of nice throws, including his 6-yarder to Washington at 9:19 of the second quarter that ended Tennessee's TD drought at nine quarters. It was Washington's fourth touchdown of the season. He finished with two catches for 22 yards.
Analysis: While Washington has become a touchdown-threat for the Titans, he still doesn't have a 100-yard game and has been held to 172 receiving yards in seven outings. Perhaps the Titans' passing game will be a little more proficient now that Young is under center. However, Washington remains a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 9 against the 49ers.

Washington ready to face Jags
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (quadricep) is active and expected to start Week 8 vs. Jacksonville. Washington injured himself in practice on Thursday, but was able to return on Friday and was listed as probable.
Analysis: Washington had seven catches for 66 yards and one touchdown in his first game against Jacksonville this season. However, Kerry Collins was under center for that game. Vince Young will make his first start of the season in Week 8 and we aren't sure what to expect. Washington is merely a Fantasy sleeper.

Washington should be active Week 8
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington was able to practice in full on Thursday after leaving Thursday's practice with a quad injury. Washington is considered probable for Week 8 against the Jaguars.
Analysis: Washington had been playing well for the Titans despite no 100-yard game but pup up a dud in Week 6 against the Patriots. He had a touchdown in three of four games before Week 6 and had pretty much become the team's top receiver. While Washington is a red-zone threat, he is pretty much a bye-week Fantasy replacement for Week 8 against the Jags with the Titans coming off a bye.

Washington has catch for minus-22 yards
News: Titans WR Nate Washington had one catch in Week 6 against New England, but it went for minus-22 yards because of a fumble. Washington was able to pounce on the loose ball. He was targeted three times in the game.
Analysis: It was a pretty ugly week for Tennessee during a 59-0 loss and Washington's stat line sums it up perfectly. He had been playing well for the Titans despite no 100-yard game. He had a touchdown in three of four games before Week 6 and had pretty much become the team's top receiver. While Washington is a red-zone threat, he is pretty much a bye-week Fantasy replacement. The Titans don't return to action until Week 8 against Jacksonville (bye in Week 7).

News: Titans WR Nate Washington's touchdown streak ended Sunday against the Colts. Washington had scored a touchdown in his three previous games, but he finished the game against Indianapolis with only three catches for 37 yards. Washington did not appear limited by the concussion that had him on the injury report during the week.
Analysis: Washington will look to find the end zone again in Week 6 at New England. Consider Washington a No. 3 Fantasy WR against the Patriots.

Washington should be active Week 5
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington (concussion) was able to practice in full all week and is listed as probable for the team's Week 5 game against the Colts. Washington finsihed with seven catches for 66 yards and a touchdown Week 4 against the Jaguars.
Analysis: In Week 5, Tennessee will host the Colts, and Washington is definitely worth a shot in deeper leagues as a flex option as the Titans will likely have to throw the ball around a bit. Washington's concussion should not keep him out of the lineup.

Washington scores in third straight game
News: Titans WR Nate Washington scored a touchdown for a third straight game Sunday as Tennessee fell to the Jaguars in Week 4. Washington finished with seven catches for 66 yards.
Analysis: Washington's yardage total on Sunday was just three yards short of his total from the first three games this season, so it's a good thing he's been finding his way into the end zone. In Week 5, Tennessee will host the Colts, and Washington is definitely worth a shot in deeper leagues as a flex option as the Titans will likely have to throw the ball aroond a bit.

Washington scores again Week 3
News: Tennessee WR Nate Washington was able to find his way into the end zone for the second straight week on Sunday in a Week 3 loss at the Jets. Washington made two catches in the game, including a 9-yard TD pass from Kerry Collins. His other catch went for 16 yards, with the two catches combining for 25 yards.
Analysis: Washington has gained only 69 yards combined in his first three games but has come one of Collins' favorite targets down in the red zone this season. The Titans rely on the ground game far more than the pass, making all Titans receivers, including Washington, just a low-end option for Week 4's game at Jacksonville.

Washington a risky play in Week 3
News: Titans WR Nate Washington will face a non-division opponent in Week 3 at the Jets. The Jets have allowed just 361 net passing yards over the first two weeks of the season, the ninth fewest in the NFL. They have yet to allow a passing touchdown.
Analysis: Washington has just five catches for 44 yards in the first two weeks of the season, but he is coming off a somewhat productive game in which he caught four passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. He should see much tougher opposition in Week 3 at the Jets as Rex Ryan has his defense playing extremely well, however, and we don't recommend activating Washington where it can be avoided for this matchup.

Washington catches touchdown in loss
News: Titans WR Nate Washington caught four passes for 36 yards, including an eight-yard touchdown, as Tennessee fell to the Texans in Week 2.
Analysis: Washington was targeted seven times on Sunday, which was second on the team behind RB Chris Johnson. Washington might have had a better day if QB Kerry Collins hadn't really struggled in the second half. The Titans visit the Jets in Week 3, and Washington will remain just a low-end Fantasy WR in super-deep leagues against the stellar New York defense.

Rain expected to affect Texans/Titans
News: There is an 80 percent chance of rain for today's game between the Texas and the Titans in Nashville.
Analysis: This isn't great news for Matt Schaub's many owners, although a lot of them have benched the Houston QB with his tough matchup against the Titans and the fact he really struggled in Week 1 against the Jets. Fantasy-viable receivers like Andre Johnson, Justin Gage and Nate Washington might have a tough time of things, but Johnson should remain a must-start through thick and thin. Kevin Walter, who is a game-time decision with a hamstring issue, might not be risked by the Texans with the slippy surface.

Washington won't be limited in Week 2
News: The Nashville Tennessean reports that WR Nate Washington is ready to return to a full role in Week 2 vs. Houston after being limited in Week 1 due to a hamstring issue. "I'll be able to play as many plays as the coaches want me to" against the Texans," said Washington.
Analysis: Coach Derek Fisher has said he expects Washington to start Sunday. The Titans got a good performance out of rookie receiver Kenny Britt in Week 1, but Washington should return to his starting receiver role. However, until he can establish himself with his new offense during the regular season, we don't recommend starting him as anything more than a fourth receiver in Fantasy.

Washington's hammy an issue Week 1
News: Titans WR Nate Washington was held out of the starting lineup for Week 1 against the Steelers because of a hamstring injury, but he was at least active after taking limited practice reps all week. Washington hauled in a 8-yard reception for his only catch. He was targeted two more times in the second half but couldn't come up with anything else.
Analysis: Washington would have loved to have been 100 percent to face his former team in Week 1. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out that way and the rookie Kenny Britt did quite well in Washington's semi-absence. Washington will likely get his starting job back once he is healthy, but he better hope that is soon or else Britt will get more chances to showcase his skills. Washington is at best a No. 4 Fantasy WR heading into Week 2 against the Texans.

Washington active; Britt starting
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (hamstring) is active for Week 1 at Pittsburgh, however, he is being replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Kenny Britt, according to NFL.com. Washington was listed as questionable on the injury report after taking limited reps all week.
Analysis: The fact that Washington isn't starting likely means he is not at 100 percent. They have him active in case the hamstring improves or Tennessee needs help in the passing game, but Washington is still a risky Fantasy start for Week 1. As for Britt, we still don't know a lot about the rookie from Rutgers, so he is also a dicey Fantasy start in Week 1.

Washington officially questionable
News: Titans WR Nate Washington (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Week 1 at Pittsburgh. He took limited practice reps all week. Washington is expected to be a game-time decision.
Analysis: You know Washington is dying to get on the field and show up his former team, but his body could prevent him from doing that. Even if Washington is healthy, he is definitely a risky start Week 1 going up against a tough Pittsburgh defense.

Washington a game-time decision
News: Titans WR Nate Washington said Tuesday he is still trying to regain his stride despite practicing on a limited basis the past two days. With no practices left before Thursday's season-opener against his former team, the Steelers, Washington's status will be a game-time decision. If Washington can't go, rookie Kenny Britt will get the start opposite Justin Gage.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what happens with Washington, but the safe bet is to keep him reserved for Week 1 against the Titans based on the short week. You should also keep Britt reserved as the rookie will likely struggle against the Steelers defense.

Washington wants to play Week 1
News: Receiver Nate Washington wants to play so much with his new Tennessee teammates against the franchise that gave him his NFL start in Pittsburgh he can't sleep through the night. The Titans signed Washington away from Pittsburgh to add some much-needed speed to their passing game. But the receiver strained his left hamstring Aug. 24, an injury that kept him out of practice until Tuesday and may keep him out of the NFL's season opener Thursday night. "I've been waking up these past couple nights in the middle of the night thinking of rehabbing some in the middle of my sleep," Washington said. "It's definitely something I've been trying to pry into myself that it's a 16-week season. But in all honesty, this game does mean a lot to me. It means a whole lot, whole lot to me to go out and play against these guys. I know the coaching staff is going to take precautions. ... Hopefully, they give me the go ahead."
Analysis: All Titans coach Jeff Fisher would say Tuesday is no one has been ruled out against Pittsburgh. Washington was limited in his first practice since he dropped to the ground on a long pass route, but did run a few routes during team drills, work that Fisher called encouraging. The Titans would love to have the 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver on the field in Pittsburgh but he remains a risky play for now. Check back until just before kickoff for the latest news. Think of him as a No. 3 Fantasy WR with upside heading into the season.

News: Titans WR Nate Washington said Tuesday his recovery from a two-week-old hamstring injury is progressing and the he still hopes to play in the regular-season opener Sept. 10 against his former team the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has been ruled out for the preseason finale against Green Bay.
Analysis: Washington is a potential breakout candidate for 2009, but is in danger of missing the season opener. When healthy, Washington has the ability to stretch defenses and be a legitimate receiving threat for Tennessee to use. Report speculates on Washington's injury
News: The Nashville Tennessean reports that Nate Washington's hamstring injury could keep him out of the team's season opener against Pittsburgh, saying that it is "probably unrealistic to think he'll play." Titans coach Jeff Fisher said earlier in the week that the injury was not deemed to be serious.
Analysis: The report in the Tennessean is somewhat speculative, but it is something that Fantasy owners should keep in mind when considering whether or not to draft him. The report goes on to speculate on his availability for the first "several" games of the season, but it is not based upon any concrete facts. We'll continue to keep close tabs on this as Washington was one of our breakout players for 2009. Assuming he's fine, Washington has the ability to stretch defenses and be a legitimate receiving threat for Tennessee to use. Washington injury not deemed serious
News: Titans coach Jeff Fisher says all exams have been done and that Nate Washington's hamstring injury is not serious. The coach says Washington will be day-to-day, week-to-week and only ruled him out for Saturday night's exhibition in Cleveland.
Analysis: Washington was Tennessee's top free agent signee this offseason with a six-year deal. He watched practice Tuesday with a noticeable limp. The receiver says he felt something as he pulled up Monday at the end of a long pass route and hopes he avoided serious injury by stopping immediately. We'll keep close tabs on this as Washington was one of our breakout players for 2009. Titans WR Washington hurts hammy
News: Tennessee receiver Nate Washington hurt his right leg during practice Monday and left the field with a team doctor and trainer. An MRI was planned. The receiver was running a pass route when he went down. Trainers tended to him, and Washington was able to walk off the field to the locker room on his own. Washington was the Titans' top free agent pickup this offseason, leaving Pittsburgh to sign a six-year deal in March. He was signed to boost a passing offense that ranked just 27th in the NFL in 2008.
Analysis: We'll keep close tabs on this as Washington was one of our breakout players for 2009. Washington ready to work
News: New Titans WR Nate Washington took the practice field for the first time with his new teammates during a minicamp this week. He admits the adjustment from Pittsburgh to Tennessee has been more than just about getting used to a different part of the country, reports the Tennessean. "It's going to take a lot longer than what I thought. I thought I was just going to be able to step out there and have it happen," Washington said of adjusting to a new offense. "It's a totally different system. Slowly but surely, it's coming. They are taking their time with me, so that's good. But it's going to take some time." The Titans signed the speedy Washington to upgrade the receiving corps. After signing a big contract and putting up good numbers in Pittsburgh last season, however, Washington will be called upon to produce early on a team in need of playmakers. "Nate is a veteran guy who is coming into his own," QB Kerry Collins said. "He has a chance to make a real big impact right away."
Analysis: Washington, who caught 40 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns last season, accepts his new role but knows it won't be easy. "I just hope everybody realizes that it's not going to happen overnight," Washington said. "This is a process and it is not a situation where you come from doing the things you did in Pittsburgh and coming here and doing the same exact things. This is a different system, a different offense and a different opportunity here. For the most part, it will be a pretty tough time. But I am welcoming it with open arms and I am excited about the opportunity to show what I am about." Washington has potential to succeed with the Titans, but he should be considered a No. 3 Fantasy WR coming into the year. Take him with a late-round pick in all leagues.

WR Washington signs with Titans
News: The Titans and free-agent WR Nate Washington agreed to a four-year deal on Monday, giving the club another deep-threat receiver to stretch opposing defenses. Washington caught 40 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns in 2008 with the Steelers and has been around those numbers in each of his three seasons.
Analysis: Don't expect Washington to improve much on his totals as he's never seen playing time on a regular basis and will have to adjust to facing the better cornerbacks around the league. He is worth drafting, but as a reserve Fantasy receiver and nothing more. Think late-round pick on him.

Four teams after WR Washington
News: Free-agent WR Nate Washington is expected to receive attention from the Buccaneers, the Rams, the Titans and the Vikings once free agency starts on Friday. The ex-Steelers deep threat receiver is looking for between $7 and $8 million guaranteed according to the St. Petersburg Times, which confirms the club's interest as well as the Rams'. The Nashville City Paper claims the Titans want to have a look at Washington to boost its receiving corps, and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune says the Vikings are also eyeing him.
Analysis: Washington caught 40 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns this season and has been around those numbers in each of his three seasons with the Steelers. His best role is as a deep threat thanks to his speed and lanky body. He is not a guy expected to rejuvenate an offense and bring over 1,000 yards and seven touchdowns. That said, he's best considered a reserve Fantasy WR in deeper leagues. We'll keep you posted on his movement.

Washington makes one grab Week 17
News: Pittsburgh WR Nate Washington caught just one pass for 13 yards in Week 17 against the Browns.
Analysis: Washington caught 40 passes for 631 yards and three touchdowns this season and has been around those numbers in each of his three seasons with the Steelers. He's the team's No. 3 option and is a free agent. He could definitely land somewhere where he'll be the top option and that would make his Fantasy value go way up. If he stays with the Steelers he'll be a low-end guy worth drafting in the later rounds.

Washington makes three grabs
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington had three catches for 38 yards in Week 16 at Tennessee. He was thrown to six times in the game.
Analysis: Washington has been too far down the depth chart to rely upon in a Fantasy scenario this season, but that could change in Week 17. The Steelers are locked into their playoff position and will likely look to rest their regulars in Week 17. That should mean more looks for Washington, making him a possible option as a No. 3 receiver against the Browns.

Washington breaks 70 yards Week 15
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington hauled in five catches for 76 yards during a Week 15 win against the Ravens. He was targeted 11 times in the game and had a long reception of 24 yards. Washington also scampered six yards on a reverse.
Analysis: Washington has managed 40 or more yards in three straight games, but he still doesn't have a touchdown in seven contests. Washington has good rapport with QB Ben Roethlisberger, but as a third receiver, he doesn't always get nice numbers. Because of his inconsistent play, Washington is a low-end Fantasy option heading into Week 16 against the Titans.

Washington puts up 58 yards
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington hauled in four catches for 58 yards during a Week 14 win against the Cowboys. His longest catch went 21 yards and he was targeted eight times in the game. Washington failed to get a touchdown for the sixth straight game.
Analysis: Washington had his knee mangled up late in the fourth quarter on his last catch of the game, but after laying on the ground for several minutes, he walked off under his own power. You likely won't be waiting on pins-and-needles for Washington's status heading into Week 15 against the Ravens since his inconsistency makes him a tough play. Washington can't haul in TD
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington had three catches for 30 yards during a 24-20 Week 10 loss to the Colts. Pittsburgh had a chance to win it at the end, but Ben Roethlisberger's pass into the end zone on the final play -- with Washington open briefly -- was intercepted by Melvin Bullitt. Washington was targeted four times in the game and his longest catch went 16 yards.
Analysis: The pride of Tiffin University has been a pretty steady third receiver for the Steelers the last three seasons. He had a streak in 2008 when he had a touchdown in three straight games, but since Washington's performance can be a little erratic, he still remains a low-end Fantasy WR. The Steelers play the Chargers Week 11.

Washington's touchdown streak ends
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington had his three-game touchdown streak snapped Week 9 at Washington, but he finished with a team-high 59 yards on two catches. He also lost six yards on a rushing attempt. He has no more than two catches in his last three games.
Analysis: As a third receiver in a run-heavy offense, Washington probably just got lucky with the touchdown streak. He also benefited from Santonio Holmes' brief absence. Think of Washington as just a low-end Fantasy WR in Week 10 against the Colts.

Washington makes one catch count
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington caught just one pass in Week 8 against the Giants, but it was a 65-yard touchdown from QB Ben Roethlisberger. His 65 yards led all receivers.
Analysis: Washington was the team's big play threat in a game where Santonio Holmes was inactive due to an off the field incident. The Steelers will travel to Washington in Week 9 and if Holmes is back in the lineup Washington will have little to no appeal.

Holmes' loss is Washington's gain
News: Because Steelers WR Santonio Holmes will be charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession after a traffic stop in which police smelled burning marijuana and found marijuana-filled cigars in his car Thursday, the club will deactivate him for Week 8 vs. the Giants. "His situation has created somewhat of a distraction," said head coach Mike Tomlin. "We want to minimize that as much as we can and remain focused on the task at hand which is to compete and play against the New York Giants on Sunday." Nate Washington will start in place of Holmes.
Analysis: We have always liked Washington as a deep-ball receiver, and the Steelers should lob a couple his way vs. the Giants on Sunday, especially with the run game slowed down on both sides of the ball. Consider Washington a flier off the waiver wire good enough to start in deep leagues.

Washington finds the end zone
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington caught just two passes in Week 7 at Cincinnati for 57 yards, but one of those catches was a 50-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also picked up six yards on a rushing attempt.
Analysis: Washington has had a couple of productive games this season, but he is still too erratic to trust as anything more than a low-end bye week replacement in Fantasy for now. He gives the Steelers a deep threat and can stretch out defenses, but is not the first or second target for QB Ben Roethlisberger. The Steelers will host the Giants in Week 9.

Washington has biggest game of year
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington led the team in receiving yards with 94 in Week 5 at Jacksonville, catching six passes. He also scored his first touchdown, catching a 48-yard pass in the second quarter.
Analysis: Washington is the third wide receiver on a team that doesn't normally pass all that often. Despite his big performance Sunday, you shouldn't consider him an option to add off the waiver wire except in deeper 14- or 16-team Fantasy leagues. The Steelers have a bye in Week 6 before visiting the Bengals in Week 7.

N. Washington hauls in two passes
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington, who caught five passes for 51 yards in Week 3, caught only two for 23 in Week 4 against the Ravens. He also ran once for eight yards.
Analysis: Washington is the third wide receiver on a team that doesn't pass particularly often. He's clearly not the type of player you want on your Fantasy team. The Steelers visit the Jaguars in Week 5.

Washington breaks 50 yards
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington caught a team-high five passes for 51 yards during a Week 3 loss to the Eagles. Washington's longest catch went 16 yards and he was targeted eight times in the game, including four times on the final drive when Byron Leftwich took over for the injured Ben Roethlisberger.
Analysis: Washington came into the game with no catches and it wasn't like Hines Ward or Santonio Holmes were injured. The Steelers just used more three-wide sets since they trailed most of the game. Washington still remains a less than desireable Fantasy WR heading into Week 4. The Steelers play the Ravens.

News: Steelers RB Mewelde Moore, WR Dallas Baker and WR Nate Washington were all active and dressed for Week 1 vs. Houston but did not record an offensive stat.

Sweed making an impact
News: Steelers rookie WR Limas Sweed, who was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft, lined up at the team's first minicamp as the No. 4 wide receiver, playing behind starter Santonio Holmes. He is behind Holmes, Hines Ward and Nate Washington right now on the depth chart, but the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports it all could change between now and the start of the season. Randy Fichtner, who coaches the Steelers wide receivers, believes Sweed can be an integral part of the Steelers offense as a rookie. "I don't think there's any question," Fichtner said. "Obviously there's a learning curve, but that hits everybody. But I know that he's capable of learning." Fichtner envisioned Sweed claiming the No. 3 job this year. Moments after they drafted him, he said, "It tickles you to death because you're looking at a three group that's really strong and a possibility of Nate Washington being four is really exciting."
Analysis: Look for Sweed to play a prominent role in the Steelers offense as a rookie and eventually replace Washington as the No. 3 option. Consider drafting Sweed in the middle rounds of most keeper leagues and late in larger seasonal formats. Washington should not be drafted in any formats at this time.

WR Washington back with Steelers
News: Wide receiver Nate Washington, a restricted free agent, accepted his tender offer from the Steelers on Wednesday and will make $1,417,000 this season. Washington had his best season as a Steeler in 2007 as he caught a career-high five touchdown passes and had 29 receptions for 450 yards.
Analysis: We like Washington's ability as a big-play target in the Steelers' offense, but he won't post enough stats to be anything more than a reserve Fantasy WR in 2008. We don't see him as anything more than a final-round flier in most drafts this summer.

Steelers tender Washington
News: The Steelers all but assured that WR Nate Washington will return to the team next season with a one-year tender offer they made to the restricted free agent Thursday. Washington can sign with another team during the free agency period, which started Friday. Team that sign Washington, however, would have to give up a second-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Steelers also have the right to match any offer made to Washington. Washington had his best season as a Steeler in 2007 as he caught a career-high five touchdown passes and had 29 receptions for 450 yards.
Analysis: Keep an eye on what develops with Washington this offseason. If he returns to the Steelers as expected he would have minimal Fantasy value. Washington was Pittsburgh's No. 3 wide receiver behind Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes. If something were to happen to Ward or Holmes, Washington would have increased Fantasy value.

Washington does well for Steelers
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington played well in his third season in 2007. He appeared in all 16 games and had 29 catches for 450 yards and five touchdowns, which were a new career high. Washington was Pittsburgh's No. 3 wide receiver behind Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes.
Analysis: Don't plan on drafting Washington in 2008, but he might be a waiver wire addition at some point. Heading into the season, consider Washington a low-end No. 4 Fantasy option. If something were to happen to Ward or Holmes, Washington would have increased Fantasy value.

Washington's two catches both TDs
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington came into Week 16 against the Rams as probable with an ankle injury. He showed no signs of being injured as he scored twice in the win. Washington started the scoring with a 17-yard touchdown grab on the team's opening drive. He then scored on a 33-yard reception in the second quarter. He had just two catches in the game, but both went for touchdowns.
Analysis: Washington now has just three receptions in his last two games, but all of them have gone for scores. He is putting touchdowns on the board as the Steelers' No. 3 wide receiver, but if he doesn't score, he can't help Fantasy owners. He remains a No. 4 Fantasy WR heading into Week 17 against the Ravens.

Analysis: Washington had a few chances to shine this season when Santonio Holmes was down with an injury, but failed to fill his shoes. He is back to being the Steelers' No. 3 wide receiver and merely a desperation Fantasy option Week 16.

Washington to start vs. Bengals
News: Steelers WR Santonio Holmes (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 13 vs. Cincinnati. He was unable to practice all week and will miss his second consecutive game. Expect Nate Washington to once again start in his place.
Analysis: Washington started Week 12 against the Dolphins, but has just one catch for six yards. It wasn't totally his fault because the game was played in poor weather conditions. He definitely has a more favorable matchup Week 13 against the Bengals, who have a very poor pass defense. Consider Washington a No. 3 Fantasy WR.

News: Steelers WR Nate Washington, starting for the injured Santonio Holmes, caught only a six-yard pass Week 12 against the Dolphins. He also gained nothing on one carry.
Analysis: The Steelers didn't air the ball out much on a sloppy field, but Cedrick Wilson appeared to play a greater role on the offense than Washington. Still, Washington's the guy you want with Holmes down, and he makes for a reasonable spot start in Fantasy for Week 13 against the Bengals.

Steelers to call on Washington
News: Pittsburgh Steelers safety Troy Polamalu and wide receiver Santonio Holmes won't play Week 12 against Miami after missing practice Friday for a third consecutive day. Polamalu (sprained knee) and Holmes (sprained ankle) were listed as doubtful at best by coach Mike Tomlin earlier in the week, and neither was expected to play. Both could miss multiple games. Tyrone Carter will replace Polamalu and Nate Washington will start for Holmes against the Dolphins (0-10) as the Steelers (7-3) try to bounce back from a surprise 19-16 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Washington is a big-play guy, who should get behind the Dolphins secondary in Week 12. He'd be worth starting as a low-end No. 3 WR in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues. He has 16 catches for 251 yards and two touchdowns this season.

Steelers to use WR group in Week 12
News: Steelers coach Mike Tomlin told the media Tuesday that WR Santonio Holmes suffered a high-ankle sprain at the Jets in Week 11 and is "questionable at best" for Week 12 vs. Miami. Tomlin added that Cedrick Wilson, Nate Washington and Willie Reid would all have a hand in replacing Holmes for the game.
Analysis: Of Holmes' replacements, Nate Washington is a big-play guy who should get behind the Dolphins secondary in Week 12. Washington pops up on the radar
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington came out of nowhere in Week 9 to catch two touchdowns against the Ravens. He will try to continue his hot play in Week 10 against the Browns, who have the worst pass defense in the league.
Analysis: Normally, Washington wouldn't garner any attention in even the deepest of Fantasy leagues, but after his nice game last week and the fact the Steelers are playing the Browns this week, makes him an intriguing play in Week 10. Consider using him as a No. 4 Fantasy WR or 'flex' option this week.

News: Steelers WR Nate Washington had an out-of-nowhere great game against the Ravens in Week 9. He caught three passes for 51 yards and two second-quarter touchdowns -- one going for seven yards and one going for 30.
Analysis: Before Monday, Washington hadn't had a touchdown all season. In fact, he had only caught nine passes. Needless to say, we consider his performance in Week 9 a fluke and advice you to keep him on the waiver wire for Week 10 against the Browns. Analysis: Ward has nine catches for 108 yards and one touchdown through three games. When healthy, consider him a No. 2 Fantasy WR, but expect to sit him this week. Washington to take over for Ward
News: Steelers WR Hines Ward has been ruled out of Sunday's game at Arizona because of a sprained right knee. He sat out two games last December because of a hyperextended knee, and missed a 2005 game that ended a streak of games played at 116. Nate Washington is expected to replace Ward.
Analysis: Washington has been a situational deep threat for the Steelers, and he and QB Ben Roethlisberger have been on the same page for a couple of years. He is now a legit low-end sleeper for Week 4 and is worth a flier as a reserve in all but the smallest of Fantasy leagues.

Washington, Wilson to play at Cards
News: The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Friday that Steelers WR Hines Ward's bruised knee is likely to keep him out of the team's Week 4 game at Arizona. "As of now, it don't look good. I haven't been able to practice this week," Ward said after practice. That would mean that Nate Washington and Cedrick Wilson will be in line to play more at Arizona in Week 4.
Analysis: Washington has been a situational deep threat for the Steelers, and he and QB Ben Roethlisberger have been on the same page for a couple of years. Wilson has been a barely used receiver over his career, and he's been backing up Santonio Holmes at split end and may not get the lion's share of the work. Washington is a low-end sleeper for Week 4 Fantasy play.

Washington, Wilson in line for work
News: In an interview on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that WR Hines Ward had a knee sprain and is "somewhat doubtful for this week" at Arizona. Ward was injured in the third quarter of a 37-16 victory over San Francisco in Week 3 when he took a helmet to the knee. That would mean that Nate Washington and Cedrick Wilson could be in line to play more at Arizona in Week 4.
News: Cedrick Wilson posted 99 receiving yards on four receptions in Sunday's preseason game in Canton, Ohio against the Saints. Nate Washington also had one reception for 14 yards and he also had a big drop on the team's first offensive series.
Analysis: Washington and Wilson are battling for position on the Steelers depth chart, with the two sitting No. 3 or 4 currently. Washington is the more attractive Fantasy option, although Wilson can be a deep threat. Wilson had a huge game on Sunday night, but it is just the first preseason game. Don't put too much stock into his performance just yet.

The highlight for Washington came in back-to-back weeks against the Chiefs and Falcons when Washington had touchdown catches while putting up similar numbers (3 catches for 68 yards and TD against the Chiefs and 3 catches for 76 yards and a TD against the Falcons).

Cowher clears up Steelers WRs
News: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Monday that in the event that Hines Ward (knee) does come back and Cedrick Wilson (ankle) does not in Week 15 at Carolina, Santonio Holmes would start in place of Wilson while Nate Washington would back up Ward. This is because the Steelers consider their receivers as split ends and flankers and assign those roles to players at the start of the season. Washington would be the team's No. 3 receiver, a role he already has nailed down.
Analysis: If you're considering using either Holmes or Washington, be careful. Carolina's secondary is banged up, and if it remains banged up, then both WRs would qualify as No. 4 Fantasy wideouts. But if Carolina's cornerbacks are healthy, then don't consider either receiver in Week 15, especially if Hines Ward is active.

The Steelers were shut out at Baltimore.
Analysis: Of these players, Holmes is a good low-end receiver in seasonal leagues and a great option in keeper leagues. Washington is a low-end version of Holmes, while Miller is worth starting in all leagues. The Steelers host the Bucs in Week 13 -- a good matchup for the players mentioned.

Analysis: Davenport is good Fantasy insurance for Willie Parker, and Holmes and Washington are decent fliers in deeper leagues. None of them should start at Cleveland in Week 11.

N. Washington catches Hail Mary
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington had one reception for 49 yards in a 20-13 loss to the Raiders in Week 8.
Analysis: Washington's lone reception came on a Hail Mary pass at the end of the game that was stopped five yards shy of the end zone. He has 16 receptions for 310 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Not bad numbers for a guy who has some big plays here and there. He is at best a reserve WR in most Fantasy formats, but the Steelers don't have a favorable matchup in Week 9 against the Broncos, so it is not recommended you play Washington for Fantasy purposes.

Washington leads PIT in yards
News: Steelers second-year WR Nate Washington had three catches for 68 yards including a long 47-yard touchdown score vs. Kansas City in Week 6.
Analysis: Washington is coming on quickly as a reliable Steeler receiver, inside the top three in receiving yardage on the team. Owners in leagues that start three or more receivers may want to take a long look at Washington -- he's owned in just ONE percent of CBS SportsLine.com leagues. He plays at Atlanta in Week 7, and while we wouldn't start him, we would suggest you consider picking him up.

WR Washington listed as probable
News: Steelers WR Nate Washington (finger) is listed as probable for Week 3 vs. Cincinnati. He did practice on Wednesday.
Analysis: Washington has been a silent assasin this year for the Steelers racking up 64 yards and a touchdown on five catches. But the way the Steelers offense is run -- run being the key word -- Washington probably won't get enough stats on a consistent basis to be Fantasy worthy.

WR Washington leads Steelers
News: Nate Washington (knee) had three receptions for a team-high 32 yards in Week 2 at Jacksonville. The Steelers lost 9-0, as QB Ben Roethlisberger and the offense was unable to get anything going.
Analysis: You can tell it was a poor night for the Steelers when Washington is the leading receiver for the team. In fact, he tied RB Verron Haynes for the team-lead in total yardage from scrimmage on Monday. Washington is not a recommended Fantasy option for Week 3 against the Bengals.

News: Nate Washington had two receptions for 32 yards in Week 1 against the Dolphins, including the season's first touchdown in the second quarter on a 27-yard strike from QB Charlie Batch. He also added a rush for eight yards.

WR Washington to start for PIT
News: The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that second-year WR Nate Washington will start for the Steelers at the Eagles in the team's third preseason game. Cedrick Wilson is expected to start on the other side.

Nate Washington to start for PIT?
News: The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that with Steelers WR Hines Ward (hamstring) a possible scratch for the team's first preseason game, second-year receiver Nate Washington might earn the start. "I think one guy who's really doing a great job is Nate Washington," QB Ben Roethlisberger said. "I don't want to talk too much about him because his head might get too big but he's doing a great job right now."
Analysis: Washington was impressive in the preseason last year but didn't make an impact during the regular season, being inactive for almost every week. Consider him a deep sleeper in the deepest of Fantasy Football leagues, which is to say don't draft him but remember the name in case he makes a run at the No. 3 WR job in the Steel City.

Washington leads for No. 4 WR job
News: Steelers.com reports undrafted rookie Nate Washington has impressed Bill Cowher the most and leads the way to the No. 4 WR job behind Hines Ward, Antwaan Randle El and Cedrick Wilson. " I think if there’s one guy who has seized his opportunity, it’s been Nate Washington. He’s been very, very consistent. He played a very good game the other day and backed it up with a very good practice yesterday," Cowher said.
Analysis: Washington's Fantasy value is slim since he's still technically buried on the Steelers' depth chart.
