Quick was able to practice Saturday but said that his wrist is still not 100 percent, ESPN reports.Quick is trying to work his way back to health, but the early news from Los Angeles continues to note that his season might get off to a slow start. While the injury doesn't seem to have long-term determinants, he's still a viable option for fantasy squads.
Kings' Quick Still On Schedule After Surgery
Quick (wrist) hasn't had any setbacks in his recovery and has begun to face shots as part of his rehab work, the Los Angeles Times reports.Quick may not make it back for any preseason games but the Kings don't seem overly concerned with their veteran netminder. Backup Martin Jones might see a heavier workload in the early going as Quick comes back up to speed but there doesn't appear to be anything here that would impact Quick's spot in your draft day plans.
|Jonathan Quick was limited to just 49 games last season thanks to a groin injury and some uneven play at times, but got his name on the Stanley Cup for the second time in three seasons. He wasn't nearly as good in the playoffs as he was in their previous Cup run, but that hardly matters to Kings' fans. His game has slipped some in recent years and a heavy workload may be begininng to show its effects. But he's still the No. 1 goalie on what figures to be an elite team and he'll play a ton when healthy. Draft him early and be rewarded. (Updated 8/13/14) |
