Kings' Jonathan Quick: No new update in return from groin injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/19/17) Quick (groin) remains sidelined and without a firm timetable for a return, LA Kings Insider reports.

Quick was expected to be sidelined until March when the Kings provided an update in mid-December and that timetable certainly still appears to be in play as the end of January approaches. Peter Budaj will continue to see the bulk of the action between the pipes in LA.

Kings' Jonathan Quick: Expected to miss two more months

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/14/16) Quick (groin) is expected to return to game action in mid-February, Helene Elliott of the LA Times reports.

An earlier report indicated Quick wouldn't be ready to return until March, but Kings President and GM Dean Lombardi actually misspoke when relaying that timetable to reporters Wednesday, and later clarified a March return would be a worst-case scenario for the American goaltender. Interim No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj has been solid during Quick's absence, posting a 13-7-2 record while maintaining a 2.27 GAA over 25 appearances, so the Kings will likely continue to take an extremely cautious approach with their star goaltender's rehab.

Kings' Jonathan Quick: Return date pushed back to March

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(12/14/16) Quick (groin) will not return until March, Helene Elliott of the Los Angeles Times reports.

This adjusted return timetable was provided by Kings President and GM Dean Lombardi, who adds that he's not about to "throw the kitchen sink" at the issue of Quick expecting to be sidelined longer than the original three-month estimate. While the Kings still have work to do as they're currently in fifth place in the Pacific Division, interim No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj has been a pleasant surprise with a 13-7-2 record and 2.27 GAA, so that helps explain why the kitchen sink will stay where it belongs in LA.

Kings' Jonathan Quick: No setbacks in rehab so far

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/25/16) Quick (groin) hasn't suffered any setbacks in his rehab thus far but remains without a timetable for his eventual return, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Quick's rehab so far has consisted mostly of cardio work as he works his way through the lengthy rehab process. "It's very light, very light resistance, just because it's still trying to heal and you don't want to reaggravate it," he said. "It's coming along. Slowly, but it's coming along." The initial diagnosis had him missing 3-4 months after sustaining the injury on Opening Night and that doesn't appear to have changed so far.

Kings' Jonathan Quick: Deemed month-to-month with groin injury

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/4/16) Quick is considered month-to-month with his groin injury, the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Quick isn't expected to return until some point in 2017, though the Kings have yet to move him to long-term injured reserve. The stud netminder suffered the injury in the season opener against the Sharks, spelling serious trouble for the Kings and fantasy owners alike -- LA's currently in fifth place in a Pacific Division that has been disappointing with five teams possessing losing records.
