Fantasy Analysis
Nikolai Khabibulin ceded much of his playing time to Devan Dubnyk this season and battled some minor injuries. His best days are clearly behind him, but this is a goaltender who won a Stanley Cup nine seasons ago. The Oilers have struggled to play consistently this season and Khabibulin was the team's backup. If he decides to retire, he'll have one more Stanley Cup ring than most of the league's players. (Updated 4/27/13).
04/23/2013 00:19 Ducks blank Edmonton to clinch Pacific Division title
Viktor Fasth made 24 saves for his fourth shutout of the season as the Anaheim Ducks clinched the Pacific Division title with a 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.
If not for the fact that he has a big contract, Nikolai Khabibulin might no longer be with Edmonton. He is no longer top dog between the pipes as that job is Devan Dubnyk's, but he will more than likely play more than a normal backup, possibly as many as 30 games. The Bulin Wall is nowhere near the goalie he used to be, but isn't a sieve either and could be trade bait at some point during the season. (Updated 8/14/12)
