Canadiens' Shea Weber: Leading league in power-play production

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/23/16) Weber notched a goal and an assist -- both on the power play -- in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Senators.

Weber went through a cooling period (four points, all goals, in 11 games) for a while after his red-hot start (nine points, plus-12 in seven), but now he's warming up again, having posted consecutive multi-point efforts. It all adds up to a sparkling total of 17 points with a plus-16 rating; Weber also leads the NHL in power-play goals (seven) and is tied for tops in power-play points (10). Safe to say his new life in Montreal's working out just great.

Canadiens' Shea Weber: Scores second goal in three games

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/13/16) Weber blasted home his sixth goal of the season on the power play Saturday against Detroit.

The Habs handily defeated the Red Wings, 5-0, so Weber didn't see as much ice time as he usually does, but remained just as productive with another power-play goal. That now gives him five power-play goals for the season, well on pace to surpass his career-high of 14, which was set last year. Weber's consistency and production has been a fantasy owner's dream this season, and if he keeps playing like this he's going to finish as the league's top defenseman.

Canadiens' Shea Weber: Notches third game-winner

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/30/16) Weber's third-period, power-play goal was the game-winner in Montreal's 2-1 win over Toronto on Saturday. He added six shots, three blocks and three hits to the box score in 26:46 of ice time.

The goal was his fourth of the season, tying him for the team lead, and third power-play marker, each doubling as game-winners. P.K. Who-ban, indeed. Carey Price is the early MVP in Montreal's 8-0-1 start, but Weber is right behind him.

Canadiens' Shea Weber: Buries Isles with late game-winner

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/27/16) Weber potted the game-winning goal on a power play with 2:57 remaining in the third period Wednesday against the Islanders, and he rounded out his stat line with an assist, a plus-2 rating, three hits and four blocked shots.

P.K. who? Weber is rapidly making Montreal's faithful forget about the fan favorite who departed in exchange for him in the offseason, as he's racked up incredible numbers over his first seven games north of the border -- three goals, six assists, eight PIM and an NHL-leading plus-12 rating. He'll probably cool off a bit at some point, but not much. Only Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson can make strong arguments for being more valuable fantasy assets on the blue line.

Canadiens' Shea Weber: Two more points in win over Flyers

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/24/16) Weber registered a goal and an assist while playing 26:07 during Monday's win over Philadelphia.

It continues to be a seamless transition to the Habs for Weber. The veteran defenseman has two goals and five assists through the first six games of the year, and he is also leaving his mark in the peripheral categories with 14 shots, a plus-10 rating, eight penalty minutes, 11 blocked shots and 17 hits. Following his great start, there is a chance Weber returns the best fantasy showing of his career in 2016-17.
