05/10/2013 00:19 Blackhawks cruise to series win over Minnesota
Marian Hossa scored twice to back a strong effort by goalie Corey Crawford, and the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Minnesota Wild 5-1 Thursday night to win their first-round playoff series 4-1.
Along with Zach Parise, Ryan Suter opted to leave the only NHL home hed ever known and head to the Twin Cities, signing the same 13-year, $98-million contract that Parise did with the Wild. Suter had been remarkably consistent during his time with Nashville, averaging 41.5 points the last four season while cracking 45 points twice. The dominant question surrounding Suter will be how he will fare without Shea Weber on the ice. Suter is not a shooter and will be counted on to run Minnesotas power play. Much like Parise, Suter has skills on the ice that do not translate into statistics. Hes a solid point producer, but wont get you many goals and he should not be the focal point of your teams defense. (Updated 8/14/12)
