Braves' Freddie Freeman: Back in lineup Sunday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/24/17) Freeman (illness) is starting at first base and batting third during Sunday's game against the Phillies.

Freeman missed Saturday's game with an illness but is apparently feeling better and ready to rejoin the starting lineup. He'll look to build on his .314 average, 28 home runs and 71 RBI over the final days of the season.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Dealing with illness

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/23/17) Freeman will not be available for Saturday's game against the Phillies due to an illness, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

It seemed initially that Freeman was being held out Saturday after a long run of consecutive starts, but it turns out he is under the weather and was sent home for the day. The Braves are hoping he will be able to return to the lineup Sunday.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Rare day off Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/23/17) Freeman is not in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Phillies.

Freeman has started every game at first base since Aug. 1 and is 7-for-21 in his career against Saturday's opposing starter Henderson Alvarez, but manager Brian Snitker decided it was time for a day off. Matt Adams will get the start at first base in Freeman's place.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Launches 26th homer Tuesday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/13/17) Freeman went 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored and three RBI in Tuesday's win over the Nationals.

He's now slashing .378/.462/.689 in September with three homers and 11 RBI in 11 games, as Freeman tries to make up for the time he lost to a wrist injury earlier in the year. Expect him to continue swinging a hot bat as he makes a push for his second consecutive 30-homer season.

Braves' Freddie Freeman: Hopes to play every remaining game

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/3/17) Despite recent wrist troubles, Freeman is hopefully he can play every remaining game this season, Kevin McAlpin of 680 The Fan reports.

Freeman admitted earlier this week that he's still dealing with fatigue in his previously fractured wrist, resulting in him playing at less than 100 percent. Fortunately, it appears to be solely fatigue, rather than pain, suggesting Freeman should still be a consistent presence in the lineup the rest of the way out. He's started every game in August, and if he had it his way, Freeman would do the same in September. He's been consistently dismissive of any notion that would suggest he gets shut down, or even sits out a few games.
