Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton: Ups homer count to 59

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/28/17) Stanton went 3-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and three runs scored during Thursday's win over Atlanta.

Baseball fans and fantasy owners have wondered for some time what Stanton was capable of in a healthy season. The answer is a historic campaign. Stanton is now up to 59 homers, 129 RBI and 121 runs with a .280/.376/.636 slash line, and he has three more games on the schedule to beef up his numbers.

Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton: Crushes homer No. 56

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/21/17) Stanton went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI in Wednesday's win over the Mets.

The only game Stanton went without homering in this three-game set was Tuesday, when Mets pitchers walked him four times. Stanton went through a little slump that lasted from late August into mid-September (.145/.264/.306 with just three homers and three RBI over a 17-game span), which isn't very good timing as far as the fantasy playoffs go, but he's bounced back from that beautifully. His 56 homers are easily good for tops in baseball (by 11 over the second-place Aaron Judge), and his 120 RBI are second only to Nolan Arenado's 125.

Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton: Homers in win over Mets

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/18/17) Stanton went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, four RBI and three runs scored during Monday's win over the Mets.

Stanton entered the game with a .542 OPS and a single round tripper through 40 September at-bats, so it was encouraging to see the slugger belt a line-drive homer and stuff the stat line Monday. With 55 bombs, 117 RBI, 115 runs and a .279/.374/.632 slash line, Stanton has showcased what his fantasy ceiling looks like when he's healthy for a full season.

Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton: Heads to bench Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/14/17) Stanton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Phillies, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

Stanton will get the day off as manager Don Mattingly rests the Marlins' entire starting outfield ahead of the team's weekend series against the Brewers. Despite a slow start to September, the 27-year-old slugger is still slashing an impressive .279/.375/.636 with 54 homers in 143 games. Look for him to be well rested for Friday's series opener in Milwaukee.

Marlins' Giancarlo Stanton: Swats 54th homer Saturday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/9/17) Stanton went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Saturday during the Marlins' 6-5 loss to the Braves.

He became the first player to slug 54 homers in a season since Jose Bautista did it in 2010. The blast was a 456-foot monstrosity -- the second-longest at SunTrust Park -- with an exit speed of 113.7 mph, per Statcast. The big-league leader is in a fine position to threaten 60 by season's end.
