Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Starting Friday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/13/17) Frye is starting at center during Friday's preseason finale against the Magic, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.

Frye will come off the bench during the regular season but could find himself with a few starters while in the rotation, so coach Tyronn Lue is likely trying to get a look at that. He can probably go undrafted in most leagues due to his role.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Scores 18 points in 18 minutes

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(5/3/17) Frye contributed 18 points (6-9 FG, 5-7 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds and one assist across 18 minutes during a 125-103 win over the Raptors on Wednesday.

Frye got hot off the bench in the Game 2 win, as he drained five three-pointers, which marked his highest total since he also made five triples on March 9. He finished as the team's third-leading scorer in just 18 minutes of action. Frye's performances from game to game are anything but consistent, but he heats up for performances like this from time to time.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Solid in Wednesday's start

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/6/17) Frye finished with 10 points (3-7 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two steals and an assist over 17 minutes in Wednesday's 114-91 win against the Celtics.

Frye was making the start in place of the injured Tristan Thompson (thumb). He stepped up and did a decent job, making him worth a look in DFS play as long as he is included in the starting five.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Will start Wednesday's contest

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/5/17) Frye will start in place of Tristan Thompson during Wednesday's game against the Celtics, Joe Vardon of cleveland.com reports.

Frye will earn the start due to Thompson's inactive status. As a primary role player for the Cavaliers, Frye is averaging 8.9 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game this season. With Thompson temporarily sidelined, there's a chance the 10-year veteran could add to those numbers. In addition to Frye, Larry Sanders is also expected to see some action in Wednesday's game.

Cavaliers' Channing Frye: Provides five points in 28 minutes Thursday

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/31/17) Frye tallied five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and one block across 28 minutes in a 99-93 loss to the Bulls on Thursday.

Frye's 28 minutes matched his highest total in March, which previously came in a game against the Clippers a little under two weeks ago when the Cavaliers were holding out LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving for rest. The veteran big man benefited mostly from Richard Jefferson's (knee) absence Friday, but he figures to settle back into the 15-to-20-minute range once Jefferson is available again. As his production Thursday shows, Frye doesn't offer much fantasy upside even in a more elevated role.
